Heat Treated Garage

We Get Caught Up On Winners And Fix Our Hauling Setup

The Fellas Season 4 Episode 10

Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.

0:00 | 1:09:55

Ten minutes of audio disappears, so we do what any responsible garage crew would do: laugh, splice it together, and immediately start making a list of who we owe giveaway prizes to. We’ve got an August 15 event coming up at Mayobi, and before we roll into the next stretch of the year, we’re getting caught up the only way we know how by drawing monthly winners live and calling ourselves out for being bad at shipping stuff on time. If you’ve been waiting on gear, this one’s worth your time.

From there, the conversation swings into the stuff that keeps off-road life running behind the scenes: supporters who help us stay motivated, what our Buzzsprout stats say about where we rank, and the kind of hauling stories that make you ask, “Should that vehicle really have a receiver hitch?” Yes, we’re talking about a Prius doing truck things, plus the ongoing quest to haul smarter without turning everything into a white-knuckle drive.

The main tech rabbit hole is towing and trailer setup. We break down a new 34-foot PJ gooseneck with air ride suspension, an air ride hitch, and electric over hydraulic disc brakes, then get into brake controller tuning, loading angles, and why ramps can turn a calm day into a fast problem. We also recap Milwaukee Madness, share what Milwaukee reps hinted is coming next (including a battery-powered fridge/freezer), and flag a “you won” scam message so you don’t get caught clicking the wrong link.

If you like real shop talk, off-road problem solving, and gear talk with zero polish, hit subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review. What’s the sketchiest thing you’ve ever hauled or towed?

Back After Lost Ten Minutes

SPEAKER_03

Trying to guess about where two minutes were.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, we're back. I don't know where we fell off, but we're just gonna mash them together with a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Chris is drunk.

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm not.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, just tell yourself what you want.

SPEAKER_02

Chris is sitting really loose in his chair. And he's kind of funny.

August 15 Event And Prize Fix

SPEAKER_03

So we are having an event on August 15th at Mayobi. I'm Doc Holiday, so giving away cool stuff there. We're gonna wheel August 15th. Maybe you're gonna hear this before you hear it again because we're not sure where 10 minutes was. Next, we have been giving away stuff because we suck at it. If you want anything in 2025 or 2026 and have not received your shit, contact Heat Treated Garage on Facebook in Messenger with your name, your shirt size, and your address, and we will try not to fucking forget again, but we might. Just being honest. Uh tag Andrea Mangold Willie, and then it might get remembered. It might help. Andrea has tasked us though with giving her one list of what is left. So we're gonna try to do that for her. Then we're catching up for 2026. Quarter two, Alexier, you won. Go through all three.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

Go through your whole list. All this year. Quarterly, number one. Quarterly number one this year, Jesse Camp. Haven't heard from you, dude. He might have. I don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

He doesn't fuck with cherries. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Number two, Alex Zier. Q3, Colton Lloyd. And that's where we ended. Now we're gonna get ready to do monthly. So far, monthly winners this year. Uh Ian Boyce got January. Kyle Ming got February. Cody Tranl was in March. If we owe you stuff, let us know. Now we're going to do April, May, June, July, and August.

SPEAKER_02

And if they're smart.

SPEAKER_03

That's too many.

SPEAKER_02

If they're smart.

SPEAKER_01

One at a time.

SPEAKER_02

I know if I was those guys, I'd be contacting and going, I didn't get my shit.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I can tell you that none of them have. Uh in 2025, some of those people have.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, 2025.

SPEAKER_03

I think there's two in 2025 that haven't. Three. Three. I think there's three in 2025 that have not received their stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I know there's two bearded customs lawyers supporter. Uh uh, Ricky's the only one that has like said, hey, claimed it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we have the hats, but we haven't given them away because I was gone that day, so it's not recorded anywhere.

SPEAKER_01

He he showed up and got an over-the-hand or around the bat, round the side, over the pants, handy from Geyer. And a hat. And the hat.

SPEAKER_03

Score. So yeah, if you if if uh art if we owe you a hat from art, because he gave us the responsibility for that, bad decision. But if we owe you a hat, I think there's two sitting over here that we are we need to give away. We give away prizes like we build off-road rings.

SPEAKER_01

The last minute.

SPEAKER_03

Last

Drawing Monthly Winners Live

SPEAKER_03

minute. All right, so April. Let's roll it for April. Rolling. That guy's a lucky SOB.

SPEAKER_05

He is.

SPEAKER_01

Alright.

SPEAKER_03

But he can't win the rest of the year, at least. He can't, he's out now. He's out. Who is it? Forrest? You win. Forrest wanling. Let me type this in here. I won't remove it until you tell me to. Remove him. Removed.

SPEAKER_01

Are we ready for the next one?

SPEAKER_03

We're ready for May. This is actually giving everybody a way better chance. It is. When we screw up. Because. Oh not really. We're giving people. Yeah. It's about the same chance. They love us. Because we take them out anyway if they win. So May? May.

SPEAKER_01

Roll it. Hey, Chad.

SPEAKER_03

Should we check it? It's in the recorder. That's funny. I look at this guy. Look at him. Look at this guy. He was a winner September of last year. If you know who you are, you know who you are. We can probably find your t-shirt size. Have you grown? Or are you the same? Adam Bartram, you are our May winner. I thought maybe you're gonna be like, I am Trent. Oh, but Trent didn't win. Trent didn't win.

SPEAKER_01

Adam did. But Adam's the translator for Trent.

SPEAKER_03

He is. So Toronto. Removed. He is booted. Just for this, just for this drawing, not forever. June.

SPEAKER_01

I like giving stuff away. You know that?

SPEAKER_03

We're not very good at it. Oh, that guy's a dick. Oh!

SPEAKER_01

Wait!

SPEAKER_03

Oh, he didn't get it! Brian. He's another Mobile. Another lucky well, the other guy would have been too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

unknown

Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Seems like Mobile wins all the time.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the other guy that almost won, you know, he would have too, but he's got he's got that yellow disease, so.

SPEAKER_03

Got him? I'm trying to spell. I'm not good at it.

SPEAKER_01

M-U-L-V.

SPEAKER_03

Got it. Okay. Alright, we are July. July. How many more have we got left? July, August, and July and August. Okay, two more. July.

SPEAKER_05

July. Here we go. No. Coming up short.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, he did it.

SPEAKER_03

That's fun to watch when it's like, oh.

SPEAKER_01

It just creeps in the clicks to the next one.

SPEAKER_03

Oops. Mr. Richard Downs, you are our July winner.

SPEAKER_01

The most recent user of HTG 10 at Complete Off-Road. But full transparency, he did not get HTG 10, he got HTG5 because Complete Off-Road don't make enough on Atlas transfer cases.

SPEAKER_03

That's too expensive.

SPEAKER_01

Atlas just don't give us enough. If more people would call me and buy Atlas transfer cases, I could get a bigger discount.

SPEAKER_03

They are. All right. Boot him. He's out. Last and not least, last one. With at least drawing names. Hold on, hold on. At least we're drawing names for caught up. Hold on a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Would you like to shuffle one more time for the final winner?

SPEAKER_02

This feels like a big one. I feel like we should do four this time. Four shuffles.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. One, two, three, four. And a single spin. One spin. Here we go. Kind of makes me dizzy.

SPEAKER_04

That's a Ted Cup.

SPEAKER_03

That dude's got a great name. He does. He has the best name in the world. Christian, you are our winner for August. Bernin. Bernini. Bernini. Bernini? Bernini. Sorry, we're butchering the shit out of that.

SPEAKER_01

But he's got a good first name, so that's all that matters. Alright. We're caught up.

SPEAKER_03

We got like six more months before we have to do drawings. Only caught up with drawing. We still need to. I think Annie, uh, I told her if she taught us how to make stuff, we would help. She knows better. One RL. Probably.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Removing him out. I believe. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to copy everybody else that's left. Control C.

SPEAKER_03

And if I go over here. Oh, you're going to make yourself easier list of who's left?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm going to. But we're going to have to check so people could add or fall off. I'm going to try. If they don't delete themselves.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, if you could add her. We're going to have to run the list and do any text time anyway. Doctor. In case they're an adder.

SPEAKER_01

Wait. I got a little oh, nope, that ain't it. Where did I save it? Where did I?

SPEAKER_05

There they are.

SPEAKER_01

There's all their info. We'll add. Rename. Loser. I mean, not one yet. There they are. Saved.

SPEAKER_04

Is it like four more drawings for the year and then it resets anyway?

SPEAKER_01

August, September, October, November, December.

SPEAKER_03

And Q5.

SPEAKER_01

And Q4. So there's six more winners coming.

SPEAKER_03

So as long as nobody else joins, like your odds are getting better and better as we're right.

SPEAKER_01

Because we got rid of some people. I mean, we got them out of here. So we'll put this on the desktop where I can find it. Eight. Whoa. I have the cap sock on.

SPEAKER_04

Quit yelling.

SPEAKER_01

Quit yelling at me.

School Season And Recorder Mystery

SPEAKER_03

Was this last week, right? So you gotta start cross-country training this week?

SPEAKER_02

Uh we've got one more week before the before the official start of the cross-country season starts a week from tomorrow.

SPEAKER_01

So am I done with my computer?

SPEAKER_02

I will sure? So starting next Monday, I'm gonna be real busy until the first weekend in February.

SPEAKER_03

Nice. That'll be fun. Like so busy you can't join us? He's never that busy. He always comes on Sundays.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just checking. He said real busy. I want to make sure I would feel left out if he's not there. If I can't look across into those eyes, I don't know what I do. Baby blues. So do you want to read this?

SPEAKER_03

That no, show you. So oh wait, yeah, we probably should do that.

SPEAKER_04

We haven't done that in the uh are are we still the recording? It's close to 10 minutes.

SPEAKER_01

It's counting 10. We're past it. We're at 10.05, so we're good.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder what the fuck this thing's problem is. Like it's at 10 minutes every time. It's not like it's like a random, like just kicks off.

SPEAKER_03

It's probably a setting that someone's doing. I don't know. There was like if you hit the buttons in the right order, like it's a 10-minute setting.

SPEAKER_01

Well, there was some gal here this week that had squeaky brakes that I fixed, and she was quick to point out, I told you the court it needed rotors.

SPEAKER_03

We told her he didn't need brake pads because we pulled the brake pads out, there was nothing wrong on it. I threw it away. Another set of good brake pads, anyways.

SPEAKER_01

She's like told me, she told me, you know, she's like this big uh social media guru broadcasting school board stuff. And she said, Well, we'll take a look at your recorder because uh the exact words were you damn near blew out my speakers. I said, Well, it's a jeep, you pay for that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's I mean that's what you pay extra for sometimes it gets really loud, and we don't know why.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Anyways, she never looked at the recorder, so it's her fault. Her fault.

SPEAKER_03

Anyways, um I don't know why it was hate messages can come to HCG, we'll forward them to her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, or maybe you just need that little extra to your speakers and it vibrates all the dust off. I don't know. Anyways,

Supporters Spotlight And Quick Thanks

SPEAKER_01

we did uh realize that we haven't really been talking about our supporters, they're not sponsors, they're not athletic, they're not sparners.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, got it.

SPEAKER_01

They are not jockstraps, you're right. Uh, but they do keep us motivated and help us out. Uh, so just out of fun, we were we were screwing around with the old uh AI, see if we could get it to take over or something, and it it didn't. We're here, you still got to listen to us. We could be AI, you don't know. I doubt it. Hey, I can't replicate this craziness. Uh, but we did throw our four supporters. Can we call them? No, I'm not going there. That's a Patreon. Anyways, uh, first and foremost, the whole reason we are here and you are stuck listening to us. It's because we show up every Sunday. Social Blood Replied Media, who and again, I'm gonna read these word for word from the AI, the chat. Yes, Jep. Yes, helping businesses look professional online even when the people behind them are anything but the social media arrangement management to content creation and marketing. So your butterfly helps your business get noticed. That's true, because she makes us look good, and that's a lot. That takes a lot, that's challenging. Crawler off-road, your source for the parts, accessories, and equipment you need to build it, wheel it, break it, and build it again. Not exactly technically, they're wrong, they're wrong. Chatby Chi, you suck. They get you out of there when you break it, need a little tea or need to move a tree in our case a couple weeks ago. Guy, are your hands still sticky from that tree? Because mine almost are.

SPEAKER_02

I I wore bitch mittens.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you were smart.

SPEAKER_02

Anyways, I saw that pine tree. I'm like, I've touched a pine tree before, I know what's coming. Whether I put my bitch mittens on.

SPEAKER_01

Whether you're working or whether your trail rig, daily driver, or full-blown rock crawler is stuck. Check out crawler off road to get it back to the trailer. Or road. Bearded customs, bringing custom ideas to life with quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and just the right amount of bearded power, powered creativity when ordinary won't cut it. Talk to bearded customs. That's a good one. That is a good one for a guy that drives a BMW now.

SPEAKER_03

Murder scooter.

SPEAKER_01

He's got the I don't know. Did he get back to me? I said I babysit it for two weeks.

SPEAKER_03

He said, Yeah, it needs oil change too.

SPEAKER_01

He's I can do that. He's off seeing his boy band, so for two weeks, and our newest supporter, just because they've really been the kind of the supporter in the background. Um, we've all benefited from complete off-road in Dubuque or Dubucky, Iowa, as others say. Dubucky. Uh, your full service automotive and off-road shop from routine repairs and maintenance to custom fabrication, suspension, upgrades, axle swaps, and complete vehicle builds. Complete off-road can help turn your pile of parts into something that actually moves. We make your dreams come true. That last part, Court, you want to read that?

SPEAKER_03

Uh please support the companies that support heat treated garage. Tell them we sent you. It probably won't get you a discount, but it might get you a confused look and an awkward conversation. Now let's get back to the show.

SPEAKER_01

Especially at complete off-road, because I'll make it awkward.

Buzzsprout Rank And Prius Hauling

SPEAKER_01

So, anyways, something else we asked Chat GPT earlier that was kind of mind-blowing. We're above average, guys. I loaded our Buzz Sprout data and told asked Jat ChatGPT how do we fair look rank?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, in the in the podcast world. In the podcast world, buzz sprout podcast world.

SPEAKER_01

Well, buzz sprout data into the whole podcast world. We are in the top 25 to 30 percent by our downloads. So we're doing something right. Oh no. Did he haul? Oh, wait, he hauled an air conditioner with his truck.

SPEAKER_06

Damn, son.

SPEAKER_01

He won't let me cut it apart and make it a real truck, but we uh that's my weld hold it up.

SPEAKER_02

We were uh like, mmm. I I had concerns because you know those those cargo carriers are not what you'd call stable in there. And when I was ratcheting the ratchet straps, I swear I could feel this thing turning into a taco. So he he needs and but we rolled 70 miles an hour down highway 20 with it, and it was still there when we got home.

SPEAKER_03

That's a win.

SPEAKER_02

That is a win. So I was talking to him about some uh And he didn't say he lost it between Manchester and Cedar Falls either. So that's good. I'm assuming it made that trip as well.

SPEAKER_04

For those of you without a vivid imagination, uh Chaffee has a Prius with a cargo carrier on it that he uses like a truck.

SPEAKER_01

Uh he showed up here one night and said, Hey, can you put this two-inch receiver into this piece of sheet metal? I said, Sure can, and make it stronger. How much does that outside outdoor AC unit weigh? That's a big AC. It's better than mine.

SPEAKER_02

It might it took both of us to get it up. I mean, they're more awkward than anything. Yeah, right. I'd say uh if it weighed a hundred pounds, I'd be surprised. Okay, it definitely wasn't overcapacity of the thing, but but and then the hitch that he's got makes it stick out for a lot of weird looks driving on the rotor think that.

SPEAKER_03

Of course you do.

SPEAKER_02

Tell him of course you do.

SPEAKER_01

Tell him if he really wants a challenge. I got a trailer sitting here, we'll hook on and see if the Prius can.

SPEAKER_03

What would be even more funny with that situation? That picture for people, like run hoses from it into the car.

SPEAKER_00

Like, that's your ace. That would be awesome. That would be totally fun with people. I'm gonna I'm gonna tell him that.

SPEAKER_03

Tell him to add hoses and drive. We need to find we need to find strange things for Chappie to haul on his Prius that make it look like it's like we should put a V8 block on the on it and then like run some stuff into the looks like put a sticky supercharger right on the hood, right?

SPEAKER_04

A generator with a generator plug.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yes, that's what it is.

New 34-Foot PJ Trailer Breakdown

SPEAKER_01

I did a thing. Uh well, JB3 and I together pulled the trigger and finally found the right trailer. So most of you guys know, because I think I pushed put a picture in the Patreon chat, but uh we did find the Patreons now. Right. We did find Court. We don't have to borrow a trailer anymore. That's pretty nice. We found a trailer, 34 foot PJ, 2017. I thought it had been modified by previous owners. I called a shout out to PJ trailers, right? Right off the bat, because I shouldn't say called. I emailed them and said, Hey, I bought this trailer, here's the VIN number. I'd I'd just like to know the how was it originally built? And they sent back this screenshot of their database of how the trailer's built, which weird is like the same bad database kind of format that I used 20 years ago when I built both trailers. So apparently they the trailer industry hasn't grown much, anyways.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I mean trailer technology hasn't changed much either.

SPEAKER_01

So true that. She's and then this gal says, Hey, what's your address? We'll send you a new vintage. Because my Vintage was faded, and you can't like you try to take the flashlight and get it at the right angle, and you kind of make like every third digit. I'm like, Cool. Uh did find out that this trailer has not been modified. It was built this way with air ride, suspension, and the elect the electric hydraulic over uh or electric over hydraulic uh disc brakes, which I think still need a little tuning. Hauling 8,000 pounds today. I could feel them grabbing, but not like not the confidence inspiring like Rich's trailer does. So um Rich's crashed with almost the wrong trailer. Rich's will almost your head off the sink. It will. Um, and I don't know if that's just the way what I have. I have a very generic brake controller, so maybe I need to get a different brake controller. I gotta do some, I gotta do some investigators. It might not be set up for disc brakes, maybe they just drums. I don't know. Exactly, Gary. Um the shocker hitch. Not that one.

SPEAKER_02

This you guys all know what we just did. This one is pleasant, and if you're not doing it, maybe this isn't the podcast for you.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, but I there is only one person at this table that can say this shocker is pleasant than I hope he's never experienced the other one because I haven't. But I don't think it's physically possible for him to.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, well, you never know in this day and age. Yeah, I mean, I could at least say it's a lot better than Rich's trailer.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, uh, empty. It's guy you've ridden in the old bumper hitch, 34-footer. This one is gooseneck with that so a shocker is like basically an extension of the stock hitch that has an airbag in it.

SPEAKER_02

It's two in the goo, one in the poo.

SPEAKER_01

That is what oh, other shocker.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

I I if Julie likes that, fine, but let's not talk about it here. You know her well enough. Right. You're dreaming. Anyways, uh, this air ride hitch allows this trailer to not beat the hell out of you when you're driving empty.

SPEAKER_02

That would have been super nice away from Indiana.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Well, we were loaded on the way to Indiana and it would have been nice. It would have been really nice anywhere, anywhere, anytime. To or from Indiana. I do believe loaded.

SPEAKER_02

That is that is an expensive fucking option, too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's because I went, I'm like, fuck is that thing? I went and looked it up, and I think used ones were like $1,500.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

And we got a hell of a deal on it. Super nice guy. Or no, it was like when you sent that, then I saw one on Marketplace. The guy was selling it used, just that piece for $1,500.

SPEAKER_01

It's like $25,000, three grand new. This is probably a $25,000 trailer new. And I bought it for a lot. Dad and I bought it for a lot less than that. Um, I hauled his skill loader up to El Cater today. If you guys know what highway 13 going to El Cater is like, it was pleasant.

SPEAKER_02

To strawberries, not bad. North of the strawberries rust sucks a cock.

SPEAKER_01

Um, Andy rode with me, and she was not complaining of getting black eyes. Let's just leave it at that.

SPEAKER_03

So, my truck with just nothing up to it with airbags on it now causes that issue on certain roads. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Uh airbag issue update for those that listened last week or prior, and we talked about the uh leaky airbags on the truck.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I guess it was 900.

SPEAKER_01

That's still half price. Um comes with everything. Those that don't like the uh certain off-road company out of Tennessee. Well, you know what? You can pound Sam because I called them up and said, Hey, I got these airbags, they're leaking. They said, Oh, no problem. We'll send you the updated ones that have the boun the adjust the internal bump stop bump stop in them so you don't have that problem again. Free of charge.

SPEAKER_03

Perfect.

SPEAKER_01

So by time when I get all said done this.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna have air on the trailer, air on the truck, and air on the hitch.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and we will be uh rolling nice, and maybe by next summer we might have air conditioned accommodations on the trailer.

SPEAKER_03

How was driving the skiller off of the trailer?

Skid Loader Loading Scare Story

SPEAKER_03

Onto the trailer, like when you backed up on it, like looking at the picture, I'm like backing up on might not be too sketchy, but driving it back off would be scary, I think. Because how long are the ramps? Six feet? Six and a half, and it's like how tall is the trailer off the ground? Four feet? 33 inches.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, roughly. I haven't measured it, but that's a steep incline for a skid loader. The stated documentation on PJ trailer is that that trailer, when built, was 33 inches off the ground. That's a steep incline. Huh. Yeah, buddy. Backing it on.

SPEAKER_02

Did you let the air out of the bags before you?

SPEAKER_01

I did drop the bags, so we probably were a little It was less bad. Four or five inches lower than that. Less bad. You're right. Um backing it on wasn't terrible, other than I'm still getting used to it. Dad's got a JCB, so it's got the one big arm on the right side. So you look out the left and it's like, oh, I can see everything. I'm fine. Oh, wait, what's the right side like? Hold on. Hit move the levers, get the arm up out of the way. Okay, I'm okay. Get centered on the trailer. Backing on wasn't terrible. I would not have wanted to drive it on. I'd have been over backwards. Yeah, I was saying because driving it down from the shed, I was popping wheelies every time I gave I hit the levers for it. Okay, so you never take them into service bucket.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I wonder if it was like that all the time, or just no, the weight makes it better.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, I should have, but it's like, okay, it's going in for service. These guys don't need to deal with a bucket. Take the bucket off. Or any attachment. Unloaded it, put the bucket back on it, and then I could have, but then I would have had to strap down a bucket when I got up there.

SPEAKER_02

That's true.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't want to do that. Anyways, driving off, uh, one of the ramps didn't like where it was. Oh, and so all of a sudden I was uh what's 20 something. 20 hawking it down the fucking ramp with the right side wheels because the right front decided the ramp decided it wanted to kick out, and the right front was no longer on the ramp. We were skidding down. I just kept going forward, we're getting off of here.

SPEAKER_03

That's then with a bucket, you had to like catch yourself if like shit is.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it wasn't it wasn't like crazy tipping. Yeah, it just all of a sudden I was like, I'll is that an ollie or what is that with a skateboard? I don't know. So we're down, we're off. I parked it by the red barrel where they said to park it. And when they said red barrel, I thought fuel barrel, no, they're talking about this dented up 55-gallon drum in the middle of their parking lot. But they are they are the local JCB dealer that comes highly recommended, so that's where we went. It's there. Hopefully, they can figure out why this really nice, pretty clean machine gets pissed off hydraulic-wise and says it's overheating.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know why. And maybe make it less touchy.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, maybe. I don't.

SPEAKER_03

That's probably that's probably just operator because you know. Are you taking the same trailer to load it again? Well, of course. Okay, so you can't. That's the only trailer I got that can hold it.

SPEAKER_01

Um, we'll see how much time I have between now and when it's fixed. But uh, new trailer is going to get a four to five foot um, they call them a duck tail, a beaver tail, whatever you want to call them. A ramp. A ramp, fixed ramp, maybe, maybe adjustable ramp. I don't know yet. But it is getting something. A number one reason is so when Court and I load rigs on it, we don't have to use ramps. Just drive up, we're gonna crawl right up on that baby.

SPEAKER_02

I think even at 33 inches, you could just climb right up on there.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think we'd high side.

SPEAKER_02

You would you would belly it. Think so?

SPEAKER_01

Yep. If you had enough speed, made that. But beyond just being able to crawl rigs up on it, if say we have aspirations, we've talked about going to cruising the coast or something further away where we don't want to run the hot rods all the way, having that beaver tail on there would let that pitch over angle be less so we don't bottom out the hot rods when we're putting them on the trailer.

SPEAKER_02

Is there gonna be a lot hanging off the backside where you drag it going down, coming out of the gas stations?

SPEAKER_03

Everything my my trailer drags over everything. It's designed that way. I already got ideas for just put drag rails on the room. They'll be rolling so sparks can come off of it. Like put some titanium underneath it. Oh, not titanium. Well, then what is it?

SPEAKER_02

Uh what the fuck do they use for the when they drop it? Weird metal in it.

SPEAKER_01

Uh magnesium.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You gotta make sure you don't get it too hot or you can't put it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. But they throw really pretty white sparks. Stock Harley Davidson floor words, they'll do the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

Then they've done that. One of my buddies that used to uh run the late models on dirt, the transmission for his car was made out of magnesium, and we had to do some cutting on it one time and then touch up with the grinder. He goes, Now whatever you cut slow, grind slow, don't get it fucking hot, or we're gonna have a fire out in the parking lot. He goes, because the only way to get it out is just to let it extinguish, let it consume itself.

SPEAKER_01

Back when I was a younger pirate and went to bike rallies, there was an old boy that would also anytime he could buy a lawn boy lawnmower at a garage sale, he would. And then he would promptly disassemble said lawnmower, take a sledgehammer to the lawnmower, and make little chunks of lawnmower deck. Because lawn boys were made out of magnesium to make them lighter. And then when he was at bike rallies, he didn't want to have to worry about finding his camp spot. So before he went wandering the rally grounds, he would throw a couple chunks of lawn boy mower deck in his fire by his tent. It was the brightest fire in the place. He knew how to get back to his campground.

SPEAKER_02

I suppose when you're in those places, they all start to look the same. And after you have a few uh waters, yes, a few waters.

SPEAKER_01

After you've seen one pair, you've seen them all. They're all about the same. Some are just perkier than others. Anyways.

Lift Install Updates And Paint Talk

SPEAKER_01

Chad, what did you do this week?

SPEAKER_04

Uh, we finished the lift on Jamal.

SPEAKER_01

Did we start that before the last podcast?

SPEAKER_04

We started it at Sunday.

SPEAKER_01

You're right.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. So we we got everything wrapped up, got all the extra little parts we needed. We're waiting on some keys for the Tarsha bars because I need just a little bit more.

SPEAKER_01

It is currently running a Makata Valley suspension.

SPEAKER_03

It's fast, it's going downhill all the time. Yeah. I'm a little sick though.

SPEAKER_01

There's very few people that listen to this that would get what I meant by a Makokata Valley suspension. A lot.

SPEAKER_04

Actually, a ride down. Doggy style.

SPEAKER_01

No. It's a little doggy style. It's doggy style, but Makogan Valley suspension was always the running joke when I was in high school that all my friends from West Delaware would say that because the Coconut Valley kids weren't smart enough to how to tune the motor to get horsepower out, so they had to jack the back end to get the weight transfer so the tires, the rear tires are lighter to make so it could do a burnout. True story. Friend of ours, we tell you that. Anyways.

SPEAKER_04

Say the suspension in the back, especially sounds a little bit more, it sounds more violent, but it feels good. Sounds violent. Just get every bump sounds like a it sounds like you got something kind of banging a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

I'm actually looking at that. There might be something banging.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think it's something hitting. It's just very solid sounding. Like too stiff, maybe?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. Because we didn't extend any bump stops. But you shouldn't need to. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I guess I my question was you guys tightened all the bolts on the ground, right? Uh well, he did forget one and had to come back. But they all got tightened on the ground.

SPEAKER_04

For for the for the spring bolts, they were all done with weight on it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. That is correct. He just chose to like take the suggestive during the first trip.

SPEAKER_04

Suggestive. We got distracted and forgot to come back for that one.

SPEAKER_02

There was a lot going on. That happens to the best of us.

SPEAKER_01

It's Ethan's fault. He was here.

SPEAKER_02

Fucking kids.

SPEAKER_01

He was here. Yeah, one job. We told him one job. Remember to do that. Overall, rave reviews on the online from what I've seen, other than a few. Oh, choke the jokers. You don't think we checked the junk airs for fender?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, what do you call those extensions?

SPEAKER_04

Say there was one guy that just asked why. Why not?

SPEAKER_01

Uh, because I don't want it to look at it.

SPEAKER_04

If you gotta if you gotta ask, I think he was just saying why why did I lift it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. If you got if you gotta ask why, you wouldn't understand the answer.

SPEAKER_01

Well, then then somebody starts playing with my emotions on the our fellas chat. I mean, really.

SPEAKER_04

He wanted to know what it looked like as a truck, so I I I AID as a truck.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you played right into my I mean, I you I threw the bait out there, you bit. I mean, you bit hard. I chummed the water, and you came in like a great white, but no balls, no balls.

SPEAKER_04

Not with that one for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Not the blue one, the red one we could.

SPEAKER_04

I think I've arrived on my paint scheme though, so I need to figure that out.

SPEAKER_01

Is it the one I like?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know which one did you like?

SPEAKER_01

The one that I sent back the bumpers without the bumpers on, the new bumpers.

SPEAKER_04

Did you see the latest one that I did?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I did. I know was it Geyer or somebody did some yes? That's the one I like. Yes, that is the scheme. Which one?

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I like we are in agreement.

SPEAKER_04

Painted like a mid uh mid to early 80s F100. Yes. Where the paint goes up and over the wheelball arches. I like it.

SPEAKER_01

Ford Ford did get color schemes right. They couldn't get the motors real great, but they got the Ford, the color schemes good.

SPEAKER_03

Not even gonna go there. Not even go there. All I can say is my truck and trailer have had more Chevies hauled around on it than any other brand.

SPEAKER_01

That was yesterday when we Caleb.

SPEAKER_03

Caleb's I'm like, say what you want. I've hauled more Chevy's on that thing than any other brand. 100% you have. I will agree with you. It's at Chevy's, it's at Jeeps, that's because we just leave the Fords on the road.

SPEAKER_04

Some that he's broke, some that he hasn't broke yet. Things a lot of people have broke.

SPEAKER_02

Some that he broke. What do they call that part, Chad? Is it a fender extension?

SPEAKER_04

I've already got a guy sending me one.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you have some? I found one already.

SPEAKER_04

Two? Both sides? Yeah, both sides.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_04

Modify them anyway. Yeah. Like I said, I just I just need my hands on some, so I can either attempt to 3D print or I'd say, can you 3D scan it and then print it? Maybe. I don't know. Oh, that'd be sweet. Chad make money. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Anyways.

SPEAKER_03

Anything else going on besides the van?

SPEAKER_01

Doss van is way cooler? Not really.

SPEAKER_04

DOS Van is gonna be a toe rig soon, too. It seems like I was over here a lot this week.

SPEAKER_01

I know you had fun. You just enjoyed it. You felt like court, right? Yeah, hanging out, Bills. And Gaia. Uh, wait a minute. You said you have one more week before you get really serious with stuff?

SPEAKER_02

You mean really busy with school stuff?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Okay. Uh, we have a Das von that needs trailer wiring. Do you want to do it? Or do you if you don't have time, I I can do it, but you're better at it.

SPEAKER_02

Stay tonight, it doesn't take long.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Because Das Von is hauling the trailer for Whites Warriors event. Because Court's hauling Amos, and I believe I am whole hauling uh it's Maroon now. Can't call it purple yet because I haven't wrapped we haven't wrapped it. And I'm hauling Annie's Jeep and the scout probably on my trailer. So you're taking Annie's Jeep? I thought you're taking your dad's. Uh no, I believe we're gonna put his on his trailer behind his camper. Oh, nice. That's the plan, anyways. So if it's really hot and muggy, we're just gonna go hang out with Jimbo Billy Bop.

SPEAKER_02

Perfect. Yeah, I was thinking tonight, since you got that long ass fucking trailer now, you could put the van and the square body on top of it and save storage space.

SPEAKER_01

You sound like Chad.

SPEAKER_02

Chad's idea great minds think alike, right? Chad, Chad's idea. Don't leave me hanging, dog.

SPEAKER_01

Chad's idea was could you put Abe and Icky on it and then just park it all in the Delhi shed? And I'm like, I could, but then if I need the trailer, I have to unload those. Plus, at some point throughout this coming winter, winter's coming. We need to do uh bed floors in I need to finish Icky sometime.

SPEAKER_03

Icky and Icky's like my house. I just I got where I could use it and then fuck finishing it. Then we're just keep using it as it is.

SPEAKER_01

Icky and Abe have to get their beds finished. Have we pushed off fun summers next summer?

SPEAKER_03

Uh fuck fun summer. Whenever we can get one. I'm gonna want I want heat and AC and Icky for next year because I might drive that a lot more.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Annie has been all over me about not in a good way, about uh, you know, it'd be really nice if this had AC. We'd drive it more. We drove it to uh well to the uh Norbies yesterday. Kelly drove Icky last night to get pizza.

SPEAKER_03

Kelly, you're not gonna get icky back soon. Well, she calls me and goes, Hey, I ordered pizza for supper. When are you gonna be home? I'm like, not in time to eat supper. She's like, Oh shit, how am I gonna go get the pizza? I'm like, what do you mean? Didn't Caleb one hook the trailer? He's like, she's like, no. I'm like, hmm, there's Icky. I'm like, because I had her vehicle, I had the mom bomb, truck was to hook to the trailer. I'm like, Icky's in the garage. She's like, all right, I'll take Icky. And then she's like, how do I turn the headlights on?

SPEAKER_00

Turn all the switches on. Just click all the switches. All the switches.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, that's funny though, because Kelly remembers which one she needs just to run. Because she followed me up to the car show last weekend, and I'm like, huh. Dr. Kelly's driving. There's no headlights on.

SPEAKER_03

I told her which ones to hit. I know what they are now. Sure. Yeah. I know. Okay, but I have no idea what the first one does. The second one or the third one does the headlights and taillights. Then it's the ignition and fuel pump.

SPEAKER_02

The first one from the left was we left as an open switch because it does nothing.

SPEAKER_03

At least, at least you figured out the fan so you don't overheat now. Yeah, I can drive it anywhere I want now.

SPEAKER_02

Um, we drove. That was funny that night.

SPEAKER_03

I was pissed.

SPEAKER_01

That was funny.

SPEAKER_02

He's right. It took me a minute to figure it out.

SPEAKER_01

We uh I drove so yesterday.

Milwaukee Madness Deals And New Tools

SPEAKER_01

I drove Abe to Milwaukee Madness at the Norbies. Norbs.

SPEAKER_02

Did they have any good deals?

SPEAKER_01

They did.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna stop on Friday before I left.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know anything about it until today. Did I roll it? I rolled in. I got a 6-0 battery. Well frizzle. Yeah, that's because Caleb would get it. Caleb bought a tool and he got a free battery, and I'm like, yeah, that's mine. Um he was supposed to give me a grinder, but didn't have the grinder. So it was either a free tool or a free 6-0 battery, and he wasn't gonna get me the fuel grinder because I bought a piece of shit grinder from somebody for way too much money. That sucks. It was from him. Yeah, I know I know who you got it from. Yeah, you gotta have he doesn't get me the fuel.

SPEAKER_01

You buy a shitty grinder from him, and then he takes over all three stalls of your garage. I'm aware. Yes. Anyways, uh I rolled in, and I'm Andrew's like, hey, are we gonna roll in? I said, Yeah, let's roll. Let's go in there. And she comes down, she's you're seriously wearing that. I'm like, Yes, I am wearing my Milwaukee t-shirt. You should have ordered the wall one, they probably would have gave you a free Milwaukee one. Uh I saved, I saved the Milwaukee rep money. We'll get to that in a minute. So walk in the door, and of course, I got the Remy is you want to meet people, you take Remy with you. Everybody's up talk. Oh, what a beautiful, you know.

SPEAKER_03

I'm definitely not taking your dog anywhere then to people suck. We're cute, I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_01

Anyways, um so and then Andrew's like, oh hey, and I'm like, who's that? Here it's the Norbies head of purchasing. He's hanging out there because it's the Norbies day, and apparently uh Manchester Norbies is the first one to get all redone with the Milwaukee stuff. I haven't gotten to see it yet.

SPEAKER_02

That's because DeWalt came in and redid their whole DeWalt.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, no. They have a month ago, they got a new, they've been doing some turnover. They got a new lawn and garden purchaser, and they got a new tool purchase purchaser. And when the tool purchasers came in, they said, Hey, DeWalt's doing a lot. We want Milwaukee the same, and got Milwaukee to come in and updated.

SPEAKER_02

That's amazing because DeWalt DeWalt did their section out there.

SPEAKER_01

But actually, the Milwaukee section is bigger now.

SPEAKER_02

No, I just mean they updated the DeWalt one already. Yeah, and and why wouldn't you?

SPEAKER_01

Milwaukee. Well, and then they said, Hey, Milwaukee and Milwaukee. I said, Oh yeah. Um, had a very good conversation with both Milwaukee reps from headquarters.

SPEAKER_02

Did you have your HTG hat on?

SPEAKER_01

I did not. I I don't wear a hat anymore. So, anyways, but talking to me, he's like, Oh, you really know about the product? I said, Oh yeah, and Andrew, and then Annie took over. Like, can I show you my red underwear? Um, damn here. Uh at one point the guy said, Hey, um, told Andrew, hey, I'll make sure to send you your commission check. Because um one of your former wrestler's mother was in there looking at for saw blades or sawzole blades, and by the time she left, she had saw blades, bits, and a roller pack out. The packet with wheels and handles. All because Annie's like, come here, let's go look at this. Annie's a sales wrestler, she loves Milwaukee, but a couple cool things I I found out about Milwaukee talking to the guy because I was asking some pointed questions. I wanted to know what's going on. It's from the good land. It is from the good land. Um, they weigh on for. Underforecasted the new hammer hammer. The hammer. The airless hammer. Airless hammer.

SPEAKER_02

Um, what do you mean the under forecast? Like how popular it'd be? Like how popular it'd be. Oh, that should have been a no fucking brainer.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody fucking dog. I didn't I didn't want to make him feel bad because he's like, Well, you know, you look at air hammers, they're like $150, $200. I'm like, dude, you and he goes, You're not looking at the good one. He's like, Well, he's like, Are this gonna be like $650? I'm like, that's like a Mac one. But I didn't tell him that. I'm like, yeah, okay. He goes, so he goes, but this store will have them coming in this fall. Awesome. I think you're gonna really sell them. Get more coming. And then I said, um what's this food thing I saw? He goes, Oh, the food warmer. He goes, it will not cook food, but it will warm up leftovers for you. And it has proprietary topperware quotes if you're not watching on video.

SPEAKER_03

We're not on video.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder. Uh but it will. And then I said, okay, that's cool. And I'm like, he goes, Oh, we he goes, we got a fridge coming. I'm gonna go, uh uh, excuse me. Roll back here, what'd you say?

SPEAKER_02

A sales rep says what?

SPEAKER_01

He says, We have a refrigerator coming. Refrigerator freezer, refrigerator freezer.

SPEAKER_02

Were you like, yeah, my buddy's got one of those in his fucking 2014 car? I was not that how's this one cooler?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I I looked at Andy and said, uh, maybe I won't buy the ARB one or the rough country one. Tell me more. He says it will run off of one battery, one 18 volt or two. On two 18-volt batteries, it will run at s for 72 hours at negative four.

SPEAKER_02

Holy shit. So that's a fucking freezer. That's not a cooler. Exactly. That's a fucking freezer.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm like, okay on two five O's? Uh, he just said two 18 volts. Okay. I'm assuming five. They base everything off five. He did, he did say that they pretty much base everything off of going five O's because that's what everybody always gets.

SPEAKER_03

That's that's they give you for free with a tool.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and then you ramp up from there. I'm like, pack out? And he goes, yeah, I'll have pack out mods on the top. I said, what about the bottom? He goes, no. He goes, it'll have wheels on one end. He goes, it's basically a big cooler.

SPEAKER_03

Pack out bottom latching would be way too much in Milwaukee. Um Milwaukee would need to be.

SPEAKER_02

It wouldn't cost him anything more to put that in the fucking.

SPEAKER_01

He said he'd take it back. He said he would take the feedback back. And I believe this guy. He him and if he they made a pack out of the colour.

SPEAKER_03

There was a younger guy and a newer guy buy one so I could snap into all my shit.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I told him, I said because more than likely, I'm not gonna pack my cooler on the fucking bottom. It's gonna be somewhere in the right, right?

SPEAKER_01

But he said, he goes, it's more like a cooler. It will the first he goes, the one we got coming has wheels on it. It's more like the the bigger bottom pack out. The chest. The chest. Um, but he did say it like the roller they got now. Like the roller they got now, then you could put your stuff on top.

SPEAKER_03

I want a cooler, the size of the big packout that you guys have, or the bid cooler they have, and that's what I told him that snaps in, but don't have to put ice in it. That would be perfect size for a weekend dice.

SPEAKER_02

The only thing that I'm wondering about is if it's gonna be like the size of that. Those batteries are gonna the batteries and compressors are gonna take up a lot of room in there.

SPEAKER_01

He said 32 quart. It's not bad.

SPEAKER_02

Because I think the one so I think that took off about 20% then, because I think their normal pack out one that's that size is a 40 quart.

SPEAKER_01

So still, but you lose 20% for it to have a fucking freezer, but no ice, you can take your fucking frozen pizza came. Right.

SPEAKER_03

But the cool thing is, like, if we went as a group and we each like if say we had two of them as a group, we'd be set. You could have drinks in one, food in one, set for the weekend, no ice stops, no water ice packs, no water fucking things up.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, exactly. That'd be so awesome. I said, Okay, I said, you really should think about pack out top and bottom.

SPEAKER_02

I said, and then maybe some tie-down hooks on it.

SPEAKER_01

I said, here's for example called the overland edition.

SPEAKER_03

My HTG Overland edition Milwaukee cooler.

SPEAKER_02

We I don't know which one you've been drinking more. You guys keep talking over each other. I'm thinking I got ideas.

SPEAKER_01

It's weird to be on the outside of that, isn't it? I got ideas coming. So I said, and Andrew stand there, she's just like shaking her head, and I'm like, I'm like, I bought one of your $80 ammo boxes to drill holes in it and make it a battery box in my rock crawler. That was $65. And he's like, What? Well, I exaggerated a little big deal. Anyway, just Sam.

SPEAKER_02

Um, if you paid $80, it wasn't a smart purchase.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't care what I paid. I didn't know.

SPEAKER_02

I know it was the right size and it was what you exactly.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. I bought, you're right, that one was like $60 because the cooler was like $80 because I bought them at the same time. Cooler was $125.

SPEAKER_03

Guy's like the the Milwaukee salesman in the group. You can get it on sale.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, anyway, I I digress. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

So I said, I have I made one into a battery box just so everything matched in there. I said, I'm gonna want to lock it in, like off-roading, camping, things like that. And goes, okay, I'll take that back. I said, What else you got new coming? Um, they have a new battery charger that's supposed to be coming out that is Milwaukee packout, the size of an ammo box. It will charge three batteries at once. It will hold an additional, I think he said six.

SPEAKER_02

So it only took him like five years to catch up with DeWalt on that. Nine batteries in one packout because Logan's got one of those.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

And it's fucking nice. All your batteries are in one place. You can like you charge them up, they go on the bottom. Like, you know, it's got the carrying capacity, plus you just take your bot, like, oh, I got my battery box, and you click. I don't have to find another fucking battery.

SPEAKER_01

That was the other thing that I thought was really cool. Um, so then talk to him, had a cookie, proceed down the Milwaukee aisle. Well, we almost got to the Milwaukee aisle. And then he goes, That's a really good deal. Oh shit, what are we buying?

SPEAKER_02

Things my wife has never said at Norbies.

SPEAKER_01

I have a really cool wife, I'm sorry. Um I'm like, what? And she goes, Well, what's the difference between these two? I'm like, what's two? 18-inch Milwaukee chainsaw.

SPEAKER_04

For 320.

SPEAKER_01

Uh that's the 220? Uh they had one box said 239, one box said 279. What's the difference? By this time the young guy had all gone off to talking to somebody else, and so I grabbed the old the other guy, the other rep. I'm like, hey, got a question for you. What's the difference here? You got these two prices. I already checked the numbers, they were the same part number. And he's looking at it and he's like, Well, uh, about that time, uh Kevin comes rolling over with his little clicker, you know, Star Trek thing. And he clicks on it and he goes, Oh yeah. He goes, That's supposed to be 239, not 279. I said, Well, it's marked over there, the 279 too, Kevin. He goes, Well, that's not right. Two things I learned there. One, they had marked the old box, which is already assembled with the chain on it, or with the bar and everything on it. They had marked that at the sale price, and somebody had screwed up and put didn't look at part numbers and put the higher price on the new box where you have to assemble the saw. Big deal. Second thing I learned is Milwaukee has instituted a new map, possibly as of October 1st. So there they've got probably AI, because I've experienced this with a bunch of off-road companies looking at the internet. If there's somebody trying to sell Milwaukee stuff under what Milwaukee says you can sell it for, they're gonna get dinged. They're gonna either told quit selling it that or you're gonna lose your Milwaukee dealership. So they're cracking down on all that, trying to keep everybody fair, legit. I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_02

Um, at any rate, I we now Andrea now start searching the internet now for those good deals and buy them up when you can.

SPEAKER_01

Probably already shut down.

SPEAKER_02

I'll check one place. Just because I'm curious, just because I'm curious, I'm curious too.

SPEAKER_04

See if it's not because I don't believe you. Is that saw still I it looked like it was on sale?

SPEAKER_01

That was a legitimate price. No, the 239 is the re legitimate.

SPEAKER_04

But it looked like it was that sale goes until August 12th, is that right? Okay, yes, all the Milwaukee Madden stuff goes till August August 12th. So I had looked through the ad and say, well, the the one or two things I really want weren't on there, but that that saw is a really good price.

SPEAKER_01

So I I haven't even unboxed it yet, but we did bring one home because she's like, I'm like, well, it's not gas, I'm not sure, but Geyer says it's as good as the gas. For what I need, that'd be plenty.

SPEAKER_02

I yeah, is it 16 or 18? I can't remember what it was.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe 16. I don't remember. It's the bigger one.

SPEAKER_03

Real quick. Uh

Scam Link Warning And Shopping Tips

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_03

I did, but there's only one follower, one review. It is fake. The link that you go to is Norby's Farm F-L-E-E-T-T dot board. T T. Okay. So there is a and it looks like Norby's. They they stole Norby's picture. If you sign up for that, don't fall for the scam and click the fucking link. Please be smart about it. Read shit. Just saying. I'm I'm reporting them as uh reporting them as we speak.

SPEAKER_02

Uh you can still buy uh at least from this site, you can buy Milwaukee Forge 80s for $136 on this site.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_02

Everything's fucking cheap here. The inflator, you can buy that for 160 bucks. Uh the hacksaw.

SPEAKER_04

Is the inflator the thing that looks like a hot air gun? The tire in the tire inflator. I want the one that looks like a hairdryer.

SPEAKER_01

I showed that to Annie, and she's like, Yeah. This is what Chad really wants.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly, I think that'd work good on the dogs, pulling their hair out.

SPEAKER_01

She said, she goes, What would you? I said, Well, Chad was thinking like on the tool, on the you know, woodworking tools, and she goes, Oh, I can see it on that. So I just point out like the diagram there, and she's like, I should probably come out of the shop and really see what you have. Because she goes, I don't remember if you have. And I'm like, Yeah, you should, so you know what to get. Christmas is coming, my birthday's coming. Anyways, I have the saw. I was really tempted to unbox it today because I have that it's technically the neighbor's tree, but I was like, Oh, you must have saw it, but but we'll see how it works. Uh, next off-road trip, I do believe I'm gonna figure out a way to have it in the scout.

SPEAKER_02

This place has a 14-inch Milwaukee chain. So I can't remember if mine's a 14.

SPEAKER_01

The 16 or 18 is the bigger one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, they got a 14-inch fuel for 300. So that one's obviously not a good deal compared to what you just got.

SPEAKER_01

So, at any rate, it was it was nice to talk to the guy, learn some stuff. Um, I didn't, I did not, I forgot, I don't didn't have any cards on me or anything, but I do know that HTG has been pitched to higher ups at Milwaukee. JB3 is working on that. We'll just let him work his magic.

SPEAKER_03

They'll probably like disown us, but they'll listen to one episode like whoa. Those guys need to use the walk.

SPEAKER_02

They're gonna, they're gonna the the only episodes they're gonna listen to are the ones where we're going canceled the whole fucking episode. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, uh if they send us tools, I don't care whether you free tools or free tools, right?

SPEAKER_02

Uh you can get on from this site, you can get the uh 12 volt impact and drill combo for 220. For your price. 12 volt impact and drill? I with a 2-0 battery, a 4-0 battery, and a charger in a bag.

SPEAKER_01

12 volt drill impact and a I don't care if it's pack out or not, vacuum are on my list to have in the house.

SPEAKER_03

I want the pack-out vacuum. Kelly, if you're listening, I want the M12 impact set.

SPEAKER_01

I want a set for in the house, so I don't have to walk my lazy ass out here to get it. Anyways, we are well into it, and we've been rabbit trailing everywhere.

Home Projects And Air Tool Debates

SPEAKER_01

Court and Geiger. What have you guys done? Shoot.

SPEAKER_02

I've been breathing. That's a good thing. Very good. And uh been taking naps and working on Asher's bedroom. Oh, I did do that. Let's let's what you missed last week. Yes. Um yeah, to put new flooring in, so it was nice. It was a it was a it it it was it was an easy win. I think that's what I said in the group chat. I'm like, I'm almost there, I need a fucking win or a check mark, like I gotta get this done. And I think it was six hours. I had all the trim pulled off, the flooring laid, I had to go find a fucking air hose, uh, and then got the nail guns out. I banged all the trim back on, and so all I got left is a cup. I I don't know, you guys might have to come over someday and just like what I can do to because it's kind of a weird spot and it's just are you a peasant?

SPEAKER_01

You got an air hose out to put trim on?

SPEAKER_02

I am a peasant and I can't afford I can't afford uh cordless snail guns.

SPEAKER_01

Call your buddy Court.

SPEAKER_03

Mine is currently being used.

SPEAKER_01

By who? Mitch. Oh, well, I'm I need I have one more piece to put on.

SPEAKER_02

I had I mean, I only had to put on one, two, three, four, five pieces of three-quarters.

SPEAKER_01

I had 10 pieces put on, and I was told that it was not worth buying it, just borrow it from court.

SPEAKER_02

Um, that's usually that's kind of that's kind of where I'm at with the only reason with my with my nail guns is because I never I never I've still got the air, and almost always I'm within reach of my air compressor. Think about it, I get it, and I've got a hundred and fifty foot of hose, and my air compressor is always plugged in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, somebody bringing them out their hose again.

SPEAKER_02

Unless I'm at Miranda's house and then I gotta go, uh, Chad, can I borrow your little Senko? I'll bring it back tomorrow. Eight weeks later, I still have it. You can borrow the pancake when I got it forever, and I wouldn't notice. Um, but uh, because I would I would rather uh spend an hour going from my house to Chad's, hanging out, shooting the breeze, get the air compressor, come back than spend five minutes trying to carry mine around.

SPEAKER_03

I'm thinking about auctioning off the nail gun that shot you in the nuts. So I'm gonna buy a new Milwaukee. Oh, there you go. So auction off the nail gun that shot your nuts.

SPEAKER_01

Listeners, would you like a chance to win the nail gun?

SPEAKER_03

That's mine. That was mine. That was yours. It's in my it's still in there in the cabinet.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it'd be even easier. Never used it since. Guy, I have the solution. You wouldn't even have to carry a compressor. But I'll bet you a carry compressor instead. Oh, who what? I said, I have a solution that you won't even have to carry anything to have use your air nailer. But I'll bet you you would rather carry your nail your compressor than this option. Are you ready for this?

SPEAKER_02

Reluctantly.

SPEAKER_01

You could just come out here, jump in the JK, drive it into town, nose it up by the house, plug into the front bumper.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. You can do the same thing with my tundra.

SPEAKER_02

You'd have to I'd rather do that. Don't give him the option, Court. Damn it. You'd you'd have to have an air tank on it because I don't think that little the little oh it 100% duty cycle. Right, but what's the CFM rating on it? And what I'm going to do, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. Okay, there might be a little you know the the cylinder is like a six-ounce cylinder.

SPEAKER_01

If you want, you can drive as soon you'll be able to drive my truck or truck and trailer in and do it too. Because they're both gonna have onboard air. The the trailer already has it. There is not a there is not a uh oh Chad, you were there. It's got its own. There is not an aluminum tank under there. There's not. No. He lied to you. He must have been talking about the compressor's all aluminum.

SPEAKER_02

So but so it's got its own compressor and everything.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of which, I don't think it turned it off. I need to get a solar panel on it.

SPEAKER_02

That was I mean, when that trailer was built, it was probably one of the best ones PA trailers made at the time.

SPEAKER_01

It was yes, sir.

SPEAKER_02

The only I think the only thing that would have made it is if it had dual wheel, dual tire axles.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it was originally oil bath axles, and and at some point it got converted to greased axles. That's the only thing that's like kind of wish it would have left an oil bath.

SPEAKER_04

Could you could you convert it back?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I haven't looked into it.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, if it went one way, it should be able to go back the other way.

SPEAKER_03

Why did it go the other way? Like, what do I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Like it leaked, but or something happened on the road. And to wrap wrap all this up and get over to Patreon.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because my ears hurt. Um, I need to go sans earmuffs.

SPEAKER_01

We're we're an hour 12 in, so geez.

Gambler 500 Explained And Event Ideas

SPEAKER_01

Um and rice. We did find out guy we bought I bought trailer from is one of the organizers of the Minnesota Gambler 500. Oh, interesting. Um, had his wife's gambler truck sitting in the shop there. That I guess you didn't come up to the shop, did you, Chad?

SPEAKER_05

Nope.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I mean, there was guy guy would have had hives because there was like eight fucking jeeps there. Um, but was a good good guy to get to know. Uh bullshitted with him for a bit. Um, he did say if we were interested in doing a gambler, he let us know information because they have real at least Minnesota has realized that hey, we're keeping it too secretive, it's hard for new people to come in, and it's not gonna grow unless you get new people in.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So with that remind me again, what exactly is a gambler race? So it's basically Gambler 500 is supposed to be you spend $500 on a vehicle and you kind of like make it unique, costume it up, whatever. Uh, for example, his wife's Gambler 500 vehicle is a uh uh Ford Ranger with PVC snorkel up the side, like US service or US forest service stickers on the door. Just you kind of like make them into a costume. Um, Court, remind me, what was that Audi that was at the car show? All right. So him and the other organizer, they team up into a car. They have an Audi R8 with their all-wheel drive. And the gamble and gambler runner? It's a gambler runner. With like they didn't buy that for 500 bucks. They were with like well, 500 bucks is like uh a guideline.

SPEAKER_03

You can't even guideline an R8 for 500 bucks.

SPEAKER_01

No, it was an R8. Well, he showed me a picture of it with like 31105 BFT all trains on it, a roof rack, not the newer one like we seen the other day. It was like the first version or whatever, but it's that same kind of similar rounded body style, but anyways, it had the fucking circles or the rings across the front, like Olympics. So, anyways. Um, I don't know my foreign cars, they're dumb.

SPEAKER_04

It's probably a TT.

SPEAKER_03

It might, it might be an Audi TT. 100% I bet it is that you could get an older one than 500 bucks.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe it is. I don't know. I know that most gambler cars are not 500 bucks anymore.

SPEAKER_02

It's hard to get anything that fucking drives they they need to make it like the gambler 1500. Right. Oh, take our gambler 5000. Like in today's money, but like anyway, just to get something. It's just to get just to get something that runs.

SPEAKER_01

There is, but it in the heart of it. So, what it is, they have a set course with GPS coordinates, and then along the way, you're supposed to pick up garbage, trash. It it the basis of it is. Have fun with beater vehicles on an on-end semi-off-road course and clean up trash. It was started out in Washington.

SPEAKER_02

So you're supposed to pick up garbage with garbage.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Kind of, yeah. Shipboxes picking up shit, basically. Okay. It started out in like Tacoma, Washington, somewhere out there, and then it's just kind of grown across the country. Um, I guess there is an Iowa one, but he said that guy's like super secretive. Like he comes to their race, but he'll wear like a wig and sunglasses.

SPEAKER_03

That's weird.

SPEAKER_01

They know who he is. They're like, we know he's there, but he's like trying to. It's weird. Anyways.

SPEAKER_03

He's not that secret.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I have yet to see, hey, the gamblers this weekend, or you know, what week it is, so you could like be ready for it.

SPEAKER_03

Right. I haven't either.

SPEAKER_01

And I've sent them messages as a podcast saying, hey, we'd like to be a part of this, we'd like to build a vehicle. Nothing back.

SPEAKER_02

Send it to who? To the Iowa one?

SPEAKER_01

To the Iowa one. So I'm like, fine. Chad and I'll build a bug eye sprout to go road course racing.

SPEAKER_02

Let's just start our own. We could that anybody can come to, and we'll advertise the motherfucker, and that cocksucker can just suck a cock.

SPEAKER_01

We have talked about doing a um court's probably the only one familiar with this, but a 24 hours Appalachian style event with for Weiss Warriors and make it statewide. Set checkpoints you gotta hit. Something like that. We could blow them out of the water. Easy. Just haven't done it. Haven't got the time.

SPEAKER_04

I have to pee.

Wrap-Up And Patreon Tease

SPEAKER_01

Guyers gotta pee. We've talked enough.

SPEAKER_04

I'm still curious. What were you gonna make fun of me about?

SPEAKER_01

I guess I'll have to come to Patreon for that.

SPEAKER_03

It's only five dollars a month. I'll have to hear about it.

SPEAKER_01

Cheaper than your daily advice. You listen to the Patreon? No, you don't. No, but I I've noticed. Alright, alright. Go pee. Hey, the wet spot in your pants is growing. Get going. Alright. Last words.

SPEAKER_03

I got my garage back. He'll got the 2500 running. Don't believe you. Oh, I do. You got Kelly's saw back. Oh, two saws cleaned out. Really? Yeah, the 2500 back running. He took my advice. All of his cleaning supplies.

SPEAKER_01

Was all the cardboard in the trailer?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. We burnt it all today. You're welcome. Burnt it all today.

SPEAKER_01

I Caleb and I carried stuff down to Kaylin's room and I said, hey, the trailer's right there. I said, why don't you guys just put all the cardboard in the trailer? Nobody needs it for a week. That way your dad's not stressed out about it when he gets home.

SPEAKER_03

It's back at JB3's empty done.

SPEAKER_01

Well, but the point was to get it so because your garage was like a bottom.

SPEAKER_03

Oh god, it was so horrible. Anyways, it was it was worse when you seen it, because the workbench and the new side tables, you couldn't walk Halen's bedroom, all came in cardboard.

SPEAKER_04

Every chair.

SPEAKER_01

It was bad full. With that.

SPEAKER_03

Bye.

SPEAKER_01

Goodbye.

SPEAKER_03

Peace.

SPEAKER_01

Love you long time. How's it they say that in West Virginia? Bicycle.

SPEAKER_03

That got assembled speakers.
