Kicking Off With Shop Banter
SPEAKER_01So we're going do we have a topic for tonight? What do you want to talk about? The price of tea in China? Don't know what it is. I don't either. Alright, well, let's get going.
SPEAKER_02Kick we can talk about the uh adventures coming home.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, we got that.
SPEAKER_02AC.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Okay. We got a few things covered then.
SPEAKER_03Hey, there's there's plenty of stuff to cover, I think, between what we did yesterday and we'll just wing it. Well, you guys worked on all day today, and yeah.
SPEAKER_01Let's get this going. Kick tires like the fires. Ah. I was playing around with the I had to rebuild our soundboard, our soundpad basically, because I I don't know, I overwrote it or something and lost all the old sound pads. So uh if you have a signature, something you want, we can add that in here. Right now, I just have some generic ones over here.
SPEAKER_03Right now, everybody thinks that Gear is here and he is not here, but he can always be here.
SPEAKER_04Ah whenever we want.
SPEAKER_01So just don't say anything to him, and then just as we're randomly talking, I'm gonna hit it and see see what he's what his reaction is. So, anyways, we do have Das Chad, Big G, and as always, your captain
Rebuilding The Soundboard And Bits
SPEAKER_01here in the studio, back in the studio, it is hot as balls out. Chad, we have something to try, so don't go far. Oh, he's going for the Glossas.
SPEAKER_02I would never go far.
SPEAKER_01I got this cute little stogie I was looking at earlier, but I'm gonna save that. We needed those yesterday. We should have, yeah, we should have let one up. Yeah, but then people would have been like, oh, you got you got scar smoke around me. But fuck them all. So right off the bat, uh, we have a I don't know, maybe a cup, maybe a month's supply of that's just from Friday night, of 10 cup. Chad found a sale on 10 cup, and we kind of like 10 cup. So Chad goes, we got garage drinking beer now. But uh JB3 brought us this bottle, it is uh distilled locally. I guess there's a a uh story behind it, but it's called Grandpa's Revenge Whiskey. It is 90-proof, 45% alcohol by volume, uh oh so good winery and distillery
Local Whiskey Story And Tasting
SPEAKER_01now over in Dyerville. I think they figure out that you know there's a lot of guys that like whiskey that you know fine, let their wives have the have the uh wine. I'm lucky. My wife doesn't she will drink wine occasionally, but she's more of a whiskey drinker. So ow! I get quit hurting myself.
SPEAKER_02Or getting hurt by others.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we'll talk about Chad the the workplace violence today with Chad. So, anyways, I guess the story behind this is is the guy that is the distiller at Oh So Good over in Dyersville, his great grandpa was a moonshiner, and found or got caught when that the revenuers were coming after him for his still, so he hid his still, and no one has found it to this day. But at some point during all of it, he his grandpa had this special recipe or something, and they've recreated it or something and called it grandpa's revenge, as then they're getting revenge on the revenuers, they're making it again.
SPEAKER_02So nice pop.
SPEAKER_01So is this like a whiskey or is this more of a moonshine? This is a whiskey, okay. So it's a barrel age. Oh, the difference between whiskey and moonshine basically is moonshine's not age, you're drinking it right out of the still, whiskey or bourbon or scotch, or all the others, it's just on how you age it. You just want to sniffer out of the sniffer.
SPEAKER_03Smells like whiskey.
SPEAKER_01No cooler looking. We're gonna record that and put that in here.
SPEAKER_02It's got an oaky it's just kind of an average whiskey smell, honestly.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, it's got a smooth oaky smell to it, but it doesn't smell too harsh nor too watered down or anything.
SPEAKER_00That's really smooth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You want just just a little sip? Just give me a cup. Just a little heat on the very, very blue. He needs a cup.
SPEAKER_03I want to do that.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I could give him the Doc Holiday collapsible here.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna do one mixer.
SPEAKER_01Well, you gotta try it straight first, that's the rule.
SPEAKER_03I'll try it straight first.
SPEAKER_01And you can't you can't be a girl about it.
SPEAKER_03Can't be a girl about it. And go, ooh, like you know, the factory reset mode. Well, that's usually what it does.
SPEAKER_01It's good for you. Is it? Yeah, I will tell you that this bottle here that I said was down a little ways. I probably had half of one of these in mind twice. Twice. The rest of it, apparently, Das Chad was drinking it heavier than I thought he was. And I went, I uh reconvened with Doss Chad after being outside on our what'd you think of it? Zipped, not bad.
SPEAKER_03It needs some Mountain Dew.
SPEAKER_01They all need some Mountain Dew or some cola, except Chad, he goes with water.
SPEAKER_03Anyways, uh I keep it very sweet.
SPEAKER_01I it is, it's good. I like it.
SPEAKER_03It's kind of sweet, it's sweeter than most of them.
SPEAKER_02But there's a sweet note that I can't quite place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know what it is, but we're starting to get some distilleries around here. We should probably go visit them sometime. Maybe once we have I'm Jamal. Where do you get that at? Diresville.
Floating Trips And River Routes
SPEAKER_01Diresville.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's a good winery.
SPEAKER_03I might have to get a bottle of that.
SPEAKER_02You like that, eh?
SPEAKER_01Little BV replacement. I don't think support local.
SPEAKER_03You're not gonna replace my Crown Royal. Just like I had Miller Light while I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_01I said BV, you are Crown Royal.
SPEAKER_03So we were floating today and I had a couple Miller lights.
SPEAKER_01Who all went floating?
SPEAKER_03Uh just the three of them, Kelly. McKelly. Nice little family time.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yeah. Where'd you go?
SPEAKER_03We went Shram to uh Penn Oak. So short trip.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I actually prefer the upper end. So if you went from like um what's the bridge? Lindsay Bridge. Lindsay Bridge to you could have gone, you could have gone Lindsay Bridge to Robb's.
SPEAKER_03See, I've never gone that direction. I've always got in either at Fairway or Shram.
SPEAKER_01And gone south.
SPEAKER_03I've never done any other ones.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes we'll do I always if you have the day to do it, I really like dropping it at Backbone, just below the by the bridge here by the uh the modern camping.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_01And coming down to Lindsay Bridge or um by the golf course. Quaker Mill.
SPEAKER_03Quaker Mill. Okay.
SPEAKER_01I like those are nice runs. But if you want a short, quick one, Lindsay Bridge to the Quaker Mill, or I mean, not I'm sure if you asked for Rob Hagen, we'd pull out right there. You know, you're right behind your house. Right. Um that's a nice little jump, or even drop there and go down.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, awesome. We need to try more places. Like Kayla's wanting to go, wanting to go, and it's been water's been high, it's been rainy. Like there hasn't been any good days for doing it. It's been high most of the summer. Yeah, there hasn't been any good time to go floating today, and then yesterday or day before, she's like, Hey, can we go kayaking this weekend? I'm like, we'll see.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then I was working on stuff out in the yard last night after we got back. She's like, We're gonna go kayaking tomorrow. I'm like, get the kayaks cleaned up because I mean they've been outside gross. So she worked on that and I helped her finish that up. And then we'll go in the afternoon. I got some stuff I want to finish at how at home in the morning. So I did that kind of stuff, and then we just went for a quick trip. Kelly doesn't like to go through the um quarry. The whitewater. Oh, the quarry. She liked to go through the quarry because twice we've been through there and asshole drunk people in pontoons about random.
SPEAKER_01That is true, because uh I can remember when you couldn't you had to know the channel to get to the quarry. Yeah, so the quarry was great to just go up if you want to just hang out with friends. That but so many people have been doing it now that the motor, the the boats, and the we have had enough flooding that has kind of dug it all out that everybody can kind of get up there, and now it's that's like the place to go hang out. And yeah, you get all the dumb asses on jet skis and that.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, so she likes to pretty much she has a pen oak. That's her prep to get out of pen okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Pen Oak is pretty much the get out, unless it's like a weekday or or but not on the Friday to month Friday to Monday, really. Really there's people always coming up that way in the river.
SPEAKER_03And so she doesn't like she likes to get up.
SPEAKER_01Below the dam down to the bass, I call it the bass bridge, but it's the the bridge, I think it's one mile south of the dam. So it's right where the at that bridge is where the catch and release area for bass quit stops. So the brid from the dam to that bridge, it's all catch and release, or at least it used to be. I don't I think it's still that way, but yeah. Um if you drop in the dam there and go down there, then you go down past uh my or uh there's the two parks down there, Rhett's Park and I forget what the other one is. Um you can actually go all the way to Hopkitton to the roller dam in Hopkitton. I'll have to try it a couple different places, we find spots, but so that was today. Um
Lifting The Van And Future Builds
SPEAKER_01we want to go, let's go backwards. We'll go from most recent events backwards to to last weekend, a week ago. So also today, Chad and I put Jamal on the lift. And what all did we what all were we installing, Chad?
SPEAKER_02It's so did a three-inch, basically a body lift for the front subframe, or as Guy would call it, an engine lowering kit. A lot of people do put spacers to lift it back up, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But why?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, um, and then shackles and all that stuff for the rear springs to drop it down five inches.
SPEAKER_01We hit the stopping point for the day, so I was keeping myself from saying this all day, but damn, it's worth buying something from Colorado or out west. There wasn't a single bolt in that whole rear suspension that fought us. Nice. Can't say like we could have done it all with hand tools if we wanted to. Part of it we did because you just can't get in there. Yep. But the the bolts through the leaf springs, usually those are all you know locked up and twisted, and everything came apart. Even on the front, everything came out real easy.
SPEAKER_02We're going back together, we just we don't have the right length bolts because the kit was a has two-inch front spacers, yep, and I bought some three-inchers to get that extra little.
SPEAKER_01There's a possibility with a little massaging, we could do 33. And I was looking under there, and I totally think we could make a maroon astrovan three-linked and one hell of a fun trail rig. One tons and I've got them laying here.
SPEAKER_03One tons and links, and I actually I have monster truck.
SPEAKER_01I have almost, I think I have everything here we could do it.
SPEAKER_03Monster truck. So it'd be fun.
SPEAKER_01Or we could do a little more tamer trail wheeler, um, like 35s, and I have those uh wagon ear axles sitting there. No, no, time will tell. Anyways, it went very well today. Uh a little bit of a slow start, just Andy and I'd come out last night, cleaned up a bunch of the shop, um, banished all the all the crawlers to the outdoors. Um I I have too many rock crawlers sitting in my yard right now. Yeah, that can't that can be a thing, but yeah, you got a lot of them here. Um I'm sure everybody reminds me is like, well, what did he do now? But clean the shop, got things swept up, then I told Chase I said, all right, we gotta put tools away so just so we know where everything's at before we start. And then we had to clean off a roller, both roller tables, so we had them for various stages of the process, but went very well.
SPEAKER_02Now that the back end really go easy, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We are gonna get a what do you gotta get a steer a new steering box? We knew that was leaking. Yep.
SPEAKER_02I thought I had the right one, but it apparently it was for a two-wheel drive.
SPEAKER_01Rico's garage giving us the wrong information. I don't know what to do. No, we still love you, Ricky. But I didn't know, I thought, you know, Astro Van's an Astro Van.
SPEAKER_02I I figured they'd all be the same.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but no, the there's three different steering boxes for that for an Astro Van one out of the maroon one, or you don't want to steal it out of that one.
SPEAKER_02I that's like I told Janice that we could I could probably steal it out of it, but then it is absolutely a part van part van, right? 100%.
SPEAKER_01And there's still a possibility you could sell that and make some money too. So 100% agree.
SPEAKER_03I just didn't know it was like a rush thing if you could steal it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if it was cooler, maybe oh my god, that'd be horrible.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You gotta pull the the fran shroud and a bunch of stuff to get it out of there. Um, once it has a body lift, it's a little bit easier or lowering kit, whatever you want to call it. When you have the front lift in there, well, it's it's really pretty cool how they designed that. Basically, GM designed the whole front cradle, engine, transmission, transfer case, suspension, everything is mounted to a subframe, and then the van body bolts to that subframe, so it's kind of a unibody in this like kind of like a J or an XJ or anything like that. But um instead of like having to do different suspension arms and that, they just uh journeys off-road just said, hey, we'll put basically spacers in there that pushes the whole drivetrain down, makes room for tires. It's a pretty neat idea, honestly. And I didn't know that that was how that Astrobans that's that would be a great way. Like if you were repowering something else, you could totally take the whole thing out there, put that whole thing in there that way.
SPEAKER_02Or definitely don't spend the journey's money. This is a Timu kit. Two kit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just had a miraculous idea. Uh-oh. What if I figured in there? Do you guys remember the uh was it the month? It wasn't a Monte Carlo, it was a I don't know what it was that they did the dual engines in it. They basically took two front-wheel drive sets and put them in, locked out the steering on the rear one. It was on like roadkill or something.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Cut the van floor out, slide it up in there, so you have two. You'd have to have you'd have to figure out all the I mean there'd be some work to it, but you could have all-wheel steer, dual engine van. Sounds like a you'd have no room to do van things.
SPEAKER_02It's a lot of work just to get to the power of an LS. Right.
Misfits Car Show Highlights
SPEAKER_01Exactly. But it'd be cool for a little bit. Anyways, so yeah, we worked on that today. Uh yesterday was a pretty good day. We went to the Misfits Car Club Car Show. Are they actually a car club or a car club, yeah?
SPEAKER_03Okay. I don't know how much of a big of a club it is.
SPEAKER_01I think it's just the family, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03It's pretty small, I think.
SPEAKER_01Maybe family and a few friends, but I think it's a smaller club. I mean, we were like honorary misfits yesterday because we got pool noodles. We got noodles. Speaking of which, did I take the one out of the back of the truck and give it a couple?
SPEAKER_03It flew out at some point on the pool noodle. You need to get him a pool noodle.
SPEAKER_01Units time pick it up.
SPEAKER_03Kelly was going to, and like we're all, I'm like, just keep going. I I was waving, I'm like, Yeah, go. Just a pool noodle. Buy a pool noodle at Walmart and like him a new pool noodle.
SPEAKER_01So, but yeah, um, it was cars and coffee. We skipped cars. We could have probably done cars and coffee and then gone up there for it, but we just helped park coffee. He asked us to put out park cars, and I actually said I actually reached out to Larry and said, Hey, what do you need for help? Because he had been doing this and they didn't have a lot of support, it kind of died off, and now he's trying to bring it back. Um, and I think some of that's probably the inspiration of art doing cars and coffee. Um so I just reached out and said, Hey, you know, what do you need help with? He said, Oh, if I could have some help parking cars in the morning. I said, All right, Courtney, I'll be there. Not remembering that it was cars and coffee day. I didn't realize it was cars and coffee. And then you said something later on. And then uh so our did have cars and coffee, and I I know a lot of people went there and then came up.
SPEAKER_03Uh, we had like front row right off the we had good parking spots when you get there early for our stuff.
SPEAKER_01Um, I brought Otis home for the weekend. So you drove Otis home. I drove Otis or up there. Yep. Um, Kelly drove Icky.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01I took Abe up, and then Annie had some running to do, so she was gonna meet us up later. She brought the Jeep up, didn't enter it or anything. Um, because it's still in soccer mom mode. And uh but no, it was a good car show. Good turnout, good turnout, no Camaros, not a single Camaro, what two Mustangs?
SPEAKER_03Three, two older ones and the green one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's right. There was that newer one. No, there's four because there was two newer ones because there's that one that parked just on from us. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Um he's at all the cars and coffees he comes to he's at a square body uh S10 too.
SPEAKER_01He is I can't remember his name. He his sister is uh Mindy Mole, married to Tony, that I used to write Harleys with, but I can't remember his name. But, anyways, um we had a kind of a cool lineup right there. We had Abe, Icky, Otis, and then our buddy Dylan with his 50 52 50 something GMC early 50s GMC truck with that he basically took the cabin front front nose, put it on a second gen Cummins Dodge truck, duelied it, made a custom bed for it. It's it's a ball. He's one of the top ten, but they did instead of doing like different different classes that they had a uh motorcycle trophy, they had Mayor's pick, best of show, and then top ten.
SPEAKER_03Top ten. So that was kind of cool. The way they did that, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was too a different take on it. That's you know, because then it's not well, the Mustang guy got it because he was the only Mustang that showed up, or you know, whatever.
SPEAKER_03But the motorcycle guy won because he was the only one.
SPEAKER_01It was a cool bike, it was a newer bike, old boy riding.
SPEAKER_03Like a 20.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you could tell you know, he'd been riding Harley's all his life, and it's just at the point where he had to go to the trike to, but hey, he's keeping doing it, so propped him for that. Um there was um there's a couple other really kind of unique cars there. There's that Rebel, that Rebel, an AMC Rebel, you don't see a lot of those. Looks like a uh small late 60s GTX, yeah, or or Belvedere Roadrunner, you know, very Dodge kind of inspired. I didn't know what it was. I thought it was I thought it was an old GTX when it first rolled in, and then old boy driving it. Um I bet you he's owned that forever. Had awesome green plaid vinyl seats, and I mean it was it was very period original. Um, but then you had everything like we had there was an Audi, that quattro four or whatever super super an R8, R8 there, Audi. A couple nice square bodies, yeah. That white short box, the two-wheel drive. I think yeah, I think he was sweet on Annie. He kept coming over to talk to her and around me all day. But 400 small block in it. Um, just a a straight, clean two-wheel drive, not lowered, or not slammed, it was lowered, but not slammed. That challenger that came in towards the end of the day. That thing was clean. That was very clean.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like it was a burgundy color, it was a pretty car. I would not drive it anywhere.
SPEAKER_01Two of the fake two of my favorite square bodies from Delaware County were there.
SPEAKER_03But they were nice looking trucks. That blue and white uh 60s Chevy pickups, probably one of my favorites. That was a good one. Or the dude that drives that uh F1. He comes all the cars coffee. I can't remember what his name is.
SPEAKER_01Um Waterhouse.
SPEAKER_03Andy Water Andy Waterhouse. I love that truck. That thing was badass.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because he's got one, and then there's another one. The other guy that's got one. They both work at uh Brad Henderson. Bradko? Why don't you? Anyways, it was a good car show. Um I'm not a car show guy in the the fact of bring my bring it in there, park it, sit in lawn chairs, and yeah.
SPEAKER_03The only reason I went to that one is because Larry asked us to come in.
SPEAKER_01It was Larry's show, and he asked us to be there.
SPEAKER_03I personally hate car shows. Like I like to go to them. I like to go to them, but I don't like to look at the cars and leave. Like we sat there from eight in the morning until three in the afternoon.
SPEAKER_01Like it was all it got the morning, it was not bad. It was cloudy. It was weather was perfect in the morning. It got hot. It got hot and middle and the gnats and but no, I'm not a typical car show guy.
SPEAKER_03I'd much rather just drive around and check them out and then bounce.
SPEAKER_01We'll jump into
Planning A Safe Burnout Event
SPEAKER_01this so we don't forget later in the episode. Um we did lay the groundwork. Nobody else knows this yet.
SPEAKER_00Um there will be a very I don't want to say rowdy, but we're gonna do it as safely as possible.
SPEAKER_01Safely as possible, but Wyatt would be really proud next spring, next next sometime next year, we're gonna partner with the the city of Dundee, and we're gonna have some sort of burnout event.
SPEAKER_03It's not gonna be like a burnout contest, like you think burnout contest. It's more of just pulling there and have fun.
SPEAKER_01And we're gonna partner with Dundee and the fire department and those guys there, but and then it was just that owns the Dylan.
SPEAKER_03Dylan that owns that Chev Chevy or GMC. He's like, Well, I got all this area here, I want to pour a pad for his camper anyway. Yeah, because I'm not sure. And there's guys like, I'll get two yards of concrete, and other guys like, I'll give two yards of concrete.
SPEAKER_01I think they had eight yards of concrete in in 45 minutes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so they're gonna pour the concrete.
SPEAKER_01And I told him, I said, you let me know when you're doing it, I'll make sure we got help up there to do it. So and the funniest part is is you know you you probably had Dylan in school, right?
SPEAKER_02Dylan, what who Runabom? Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01So his older his older brother, Wyatt, is a state trooper. Right across the street from where we're doing this is where the he his his building he owns on Main Street there that state trooper cars in. And because the food the food truck was right across the street at the in the and I was waiting for my food, and I took a picture of the the door open. You could just see the the what is that the explorers or whatever the the new trooper cars are, and you could just see it sitting there and they sent it to him and to our buddy Nathan Gutenkop. They're they're real good buddies, and I just I sent to him and I said, Should I back the rat rod in and do a burnout? And I didn't look at my phone again for like a half an hour and I flipped it back open. I oh, I got messages, and Nathan's like, that would be awesome. Wyatt sends back a picture of the car and he says, Go for it, I'm ready. And Wyatt's a good shit. I mean, he's good hard. I'm we were telling him, Hey, why don't you park that thing right there in the the four you know, in the mid middle of Main Street and kick the lights on? He says, He goes, I would, but he goes, then I gotta sit there and babysit it. Yeah, so if somebody doesn't key it or mess with it, you know. And I'm telling you, that is the cleanest, most detailed Iowa State trooper car in the state. Because clean he was he was out there, he was off duty, but he was wiping down door seals and that, and he's always been that way. He's always been a super very keep your keep your stuff. When he was driving dump truck, I mean his dump truck shined all the time. So I just think it's funny we're gonna do a burnout, burnout fest right across the street from the state troopers place, but it'll all be on private property, it'll be all properly insured. Details to come more, but that just kind of fell together. Andrea said something to Dylan, and Dylan was like, I've been thinking about doing that.
SPEAKER_03And well, there was a burnout, like so. Central City's doing one September 5th, I believe. Which I guess we're not burnout contest. I guess we're going to for research. Research. So yeah, that's going on. So it's more of a popular thing that's starting to grow. Like the burnout contests are pretty popular, like when they're doing the doneies and doing all the crazy shit.
SPEAKER_01And we're not gonna do that. We're it's gonna be a back in, yeah, have some fun, pull back out. You know, we'll maybe do a best of show or we'll figure it all out. There's we'll have fun with it, but it's it's more of maybe raise some funds for the the city or the fire department or whatever they need and do some mental awareness promotion. I don't, I mean, I don't care if we help with it and we don't make a dime off of
Off-Road Fundraiser And Rig Talk
SPEAKER_01it if we just use it as something as a promotional. But we do have an awesome event coming up in three weeks.
SPEAKER_03Three weeks, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So 15th. Yeah. Well th well, three weeks from today, yesterday, yeah, is is the uh Rocks, Ruts, Resilience, Resilience, or as I call it, wheeling for whyobi. Down at Myobi. Hampton Hampton, Iowa, Hampton, Iowa, or no, Hamilton. Hamilton. Hamilton, Iowa, down by Oscaloosa, Pella area. Um 20 bucks a rig. Basically, uh Saturday, all day wheeling. It's got everything from mild to pretty wild. It's uh it's a pick your line, pick your poison type of wheeling place, timber, typical Iowa wheeling. Um, hopefully it doesn't rain. There was there will be mud. There may be mud anyways, but I don't like mud. I don't either.
SPEAKER_03We still got mud to clean off of the oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Have you looked in that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I've looked in it. It's mess.
SPEAKER_01I opened the door today to grab grab put throw the or yesterday to throw the bubble rope back in it, and I'm like, whoa, that's bad.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna take some major vacuum.
SPEAKER_01I'll clean the radio and the oh, and by the way, I got a big old belly laugh out of when I told Rich I was throwing mud balls and hit the stereo, the radio on there. He stirred started laughing. Because I got gyer, I got gyr through the steering wheel, hit gyre too, and he goes, Oh, perfect. So he got a good laugh out of it. He's still super stoked that it's out.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna have the rental cheap at Wyatt's Warriors. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Uh I probably the replacement power string pump is here. Nice. So we need to put that on and see if that fixes it. And then we might see about getting a RAM here yet. We'll see. Put assist on it. So you see Radflows making RAMs? I did see something. Our buddy Dave posts something. Our buddy Dave sent that. Well, he'd sent it to me first, and then I I I immediately verify. Uh, I have not looked at my work email because I don't keep it on my phone anymore, but I did log into work email so I could send an email right away to my rep saying, I need to know more about this. Yeah. So tomorrow I'll know more. Um, but I like the Rideflow stuff. I want to buy I I already got was looking at pricing for some my next Radflow purchase for another project.
SPEAKER_02So after driving Amos and Otis, what are your thoughts and driving characteristics?
SPEAKER_03Otis is too small. Interior cab for a big guy. Like, I don't know how Rich drives because he's way taller than I am. I felt like I had to really lift my legs up to get the hit the brakes. And driving a hydro assist vehicle, I've never done that before. That was my first one. Yeah. A little twitchy till you get used to it. But I mean it right, they both they both drive really nice. The Jeep drives more like what I'm used to driving, like a Jeep. But I mean, I wouldn't wheel Otis. I'd be scared to wheel it, I think. It's too nice. But no, it's I like I mean, I drove two UA vehicles in the last two weeks. Pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_01I I got up this morning, a new chad was on his way, and I walked outside. I'm like, you know what? I just flipped on the old re record and I was like, you would have told me 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_03I have UA bags everywhere.
SPEAKER_01Uh you know, my second week into working at Kaputoff Road that hey, 10 years from now, you're gonna have your own badass crawler sitting there and two ultimate adventure vehicles and have been on Ultimate Adventure because we had Amos was there when I mean I drove Amos the first week I was there. Um I actually had to wait to start till Rich got back from the last UA he took Amos on. But if you would have told me, I would have been like, no way. So I was like, I gotta walk through there, and then plus I wanted to highlight that hey, we are still doing stuff. Yeah, we just ain't been recording.
SPEAKER_03Um the recording just takes so much more time, it does.
SPEAKER_01And so I think I don't know that we're gonna do a lot of the oh, watch us work recording more. Maybe we're just gonna do like the shorts. Hey, this is what we're doing, this is what we're up to, type stuff. But um, it was cleaned in last we were cleaning here yesterday, doing any and it hurt the chair, the dumpster needed tire rotation and oil change, and I'd put it off. It needed it before we went to Indiana, so I was like, I better get done. So we had everything. I looked at Andrew and I said, Man, just think how much room I'm gonna have in here once I get those projects done. It was the firebird and the uh what are we calling his truck again? I'd have forgot Brad's truck. Brad's truck and Moco sitting over there. I'm like, man, I'm gonna have all kinds of room in here. I'll have to get something else to do. Not well, just like the park.
SPEAKER_03My garage is so.
SPEAKER_01Should we just take maybe we should just take or Amos over to your place and be like, hey chaos, yeah, clean this. Clean this.
SPEAKER_03He'd be like, fuck off.
SPEAKER_02Uh it'd be a great before and after picture.
SPEAKER_01Well, not only that, but he could totally hashtag ultimate adventure net because people click on it just for that and see his his work.
SPEAKER_03I mean, he's he's talking, uh he's pull so he's pulling that motor out of that truck that we went and got the other day. The one that just needed a starter that ended up not needing just a starter. Anyway, so he was working on that this morning, and he's like, Oh, I got another another car coming in. I'm like, bud, re realize I still have to finish trim. Like, you can't keep every single weekend. He's like, he was, I'm turning people away. He's like, if I don't feel like it's a cool car at this point, he's like, eh, I don't have time. And it's like, he's like, I don't, he was, I don't know what I'm gonna do. He goes, I'm like, I go, you're gonna just have to tell people no or start scheduling out farther. Yep. I mean, it's never currently it's not to a point where you can quit your day job and just go full on your business. Like it's not he needs his own spot to do it though. That's what and that's what I told him. Like, you can't keep burning up my garage space. Uh icky sat outside, she's sitting outside again tonight because there's shit in there. It's he's gotta find something, and he keeps like, get that shop built. And I'm like, Well, I'm trying, but you know, I don't have even when you get that shop built. I mean, you got your own stuff to put in it. He he is willing to rent one stall. So, I mean, if he's willing to really if he really gives me the money for one stall.
SPEAKER_01Is this stall gonna be walled off from everything else?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't want to wall it off because love the kid, but I know how things spread. His stuff definitely spreads. Put a temporary wall up, put a curtain wall up. I'm like, you can't cross this. He'll just push it out of the way. Put barbed wire, electrify it, electrified made wire. But I don't cross this lot. Yeah, we'll see. His rent will just keep going up.
SPEAKER_01You still blood from a turnip, buddy.
SPEAKER_03Right, 100%.
SPEAKER_02But anyways, so yeah, you had mentioned earlier about car, and there was a nice car at the car show, and you'd never drive that basically. The older I'm getting, I think if I had a $40,000, $50,000 called a Camaro or whatever it is, you know, 69 or whatever, I'd drive that thing every day. Well, so it's no different than buying a $40, $50,000 new car and driving it every day.
SPEAKER_03Tip the insurance. Fixing a newer car seems easier, I guess, than I mean, yes, you can fix the old ones, yeah, but finding the parts for them and I would drive it. I'm just I'm just like icky, I drive to Walmart, park next to the cart rack, get out, go do my shit. Right. Sometimes there's a lot of people around, I'll bounce the cart off the front of it just for fun.
SPEAKER_01You know, just like I'm telling you, we've got to get some brooms. Like some stiff bristle shot brooms, but then modify the handles so they look like the California dusters. And when all these other guys are out there dusting their spraying their stuff on them. Did you see the dude with the the fur, let's see, they call it what they call that a first gen RAM?
SPEAKER_03Yes, the Cummins. That was a second, that was that's second gen. First gem's the square first gen's a square body one. That's the second gen.
SPEAKER_01So second gen Ram. And he's out there, and he was like, had a gallon of like tire shine, putting it on a rag and wiping the wheels down. Okay, it's a very clean, all original 97 Cummins.
SPEAKER_03She was spotless.
SPEAKER_01I look just I don't go look at it in detail, but it no, I walked past it, it was spotless, clean. But I'm like, really?
SPEAKER_03That's why it looks like that. I get it, you know. I mean, he if he if that's that's his thing, that's his I bet my tundra's got more rust on the frame and stuff. Oh, yeah. 100% because it might not have I don't have really any rust on the tundra, but it's just like I don't take and wipe the bolts off and paint the bolts and all that kind of shit. Like it's got rust on it because it's I it's a truck, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay, but and that's the difference.
SPEAKER_03That he clearly does not truck that had a it had a fifth wheel hitch in the back.
SPEAKER_01I'll bet it was his old man's or something.
SPEAKER_03He was old enough. I bet he bought that new.
SPEAKER_01Maybe he bought that new, used it for a little bit, and then just cleaned it up and kept it, or he found it somewhere. Who knows? Yeah, but I don't he ain't using that on the regular to pull a gooseneck.
SPEAKER_03No, not as clean,
Mini Split Install And Shop Cooling
SPEAKER_03not as clean as it was. So she was clean.
SPEAKER_01But so that was sorry to Friday, Chad. I'll get you spent more hours at it than I did. So I will you give the rundown of Friday's project because I was at work for most of it.
SPEAKER_02So uh well, like what Wednesday before you and I both spent time trying to get our individual places all figured out for holes in the wall and all that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_01Just past Wednesday, yes, after we got back, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So we were ready to rock Friday, so Chappie come over to my place eight in the morning. Uh back up a minute, where did the said units, how did we acquire them? Right. So when the high school, local high school went through a remodel process, there's some uh mini splits that got removed. I think there's maybe eight in total, and there was I don't remember if I got three or four.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, three for sure, because I had two. Derek got I gave one to Derek for helping with the porch, and then you have one, I have one.
SPEAKER_02So three for sure, just almost seems like I had four, but whatever. But paid 20 or 25 bucks a piece. Um assumed they worked, but didn't know for sure. Um so Chappie ordered parts that he needed to do the actual hookup for it, and uh basically I spent from eight in the morning till about six six six ish just for us. Yeah. For for me for me, but there is a long lunch and a couple field trips in there, and we went directly to Chris's.
SPEAKER_01And I had just told Annie, I'm like, there I said, I don't think it's getting hooked up today. There's no way Chappie and Chad, they've been going all day. There's no way Chappie's gonna stay out.
SPEAKER_02And I was I was super surprised.
SPEAKER_01I all of a sudden I get from Chad text to the fellows chat, we're mobile. I'm like, all right, I better go to the shop.
SPEAKER_02So I was what one o'clock when it was actually running, and then 1 a.m. Yeah, and then and I didn't go home until like 1 50.
SPEAKER_01So goodbye. Was that what no? That might have been was that the super secret double back way home?
SPEAKER_02I have no idea.
SPEAKER_01He literally doesn't have an idea. Hence the 10 cup bottle over here.
SPEAKER_03I can't even die.
SPEAKER_01You're both you're you're both in trouble with Annie, by the way. I don't know. She told me yesterday. She's chat, she has a it's Chad's been lucky it's been like swimming with your clothes on outside. She's like, I'm standing in the house. But, anyways, we got them up and running. We got a little bit of I guess did you probably put you at your outside covers there, Messon?
SPEAKER_02The covers are on, but I need to take them off and foam them. So just just a little bit of stuff. There's a couple parts I want to paint.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, he said paint around that filters because it that way they don't rust.
SPEAKER_02The filter needs to be painted, and then there's a couple metal pieces that are kind of rusted out out of mine, so I'll wire brush them and paint them.
SPEAKER_01I can say set it to 72 Friday night or Saturday morning. Just left it run. I came out here yesterday just to see what it was like. All right, went inside. Then Amy and I came back out.
SPEAKER_03We came when when I got here, when Kelly, I got here yesterday morning. I walked in, I'm like, damn, it's cold in here before we left.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And then let it run all day yesterday at 72. Amy and I were out here, and I bumped it down to 70, I think. But just like, okay, overnight, let's let it try to catch up. Because I got to cool down the everything. Right. Um and then we worked out here, and then I had no more gotten inside, got cleaned up. Chad said, Hey, temper the temp's dropping. I'm gonna bring the van over tonight. Let's get it inside tonight so we don't have to open the doors, but it's hot out. Perfect. He brought over, put it inside. Come out this morning, and I said, let's just I said, let's get it cooled down here. I drop her to 64. We let it run for 64. I just bumped it back up to 70 because it's if you stay at the wrong spot, you stand in the right spot. I grabbed a little nine-inch metal cage fan from Walmart when I was ran to town today, and I mounted that so it kind of blows pushes some of that cold air from that corner on out in the shop, and then I got the other one circulating above. And uh, but yeah, you stand in the right corner, it's like ooh, yes, but it's it's catching up, so very bad. You go outside and almost instantly sweat, you come back inside, and you're like, ain't bad in here.
SPEAKER_02The humidity's gone, it feels conditioned, yes, right.
SPEAKER_01And funny last night it was flipping through the old YouTubes, fat electrician just did uh a talk, you know, one of his videos about air conditioning. Because and and it's basically he's he's shitting on Europe so hard, and it's hilarious about how dumb they are to not have air conditioning because they're always like, Oh, Americans don't know what it's like to be hot over here, you know. And so he's he goes through and he's like, Air conditioning is the single most greatest invention America has ever come up with. And he's like the movie and TV industry wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for air conditioning, because the first common places to be air conditioned were movie theaters, and people would go and he says, There's all kinds of accounts from the 20s and 30s, people are like, We don't care.
SPEAKER_02Go to escape the heat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we don't care what's on that screen, we're in here to escape the heat. Yeah, and then he talks about like the first air conditioning units would have been like five hundred thousand dollars by today's pricing, and they're you know, just to and now he goes, I can go to Walmart and buy one for 150 bucks for you know, put it in the window. And but he's he goes through all the it's pretty he talks about the the history of carrier, the guy that invented it. Um, he invented it because some paper newspaper company their ink wasn't drying right, their paper was doing weird things, they couldn't get the print quality they wanted, so they so he's he came up with the oh well I'll condition the air so that I can control the environment of it. And then he patented it and you know carrier's still around today, but it's pretty cool. It was just funny that we just put our air conditioners in. The chad comes in today and he's like, Why do we wait so long to do this?
SPEAKER_03Because we've had them for two years, two years for sure, maybe three.
SPEAKER_01I am not looking forward to seeing what an electric bill is on that one of my uh well, that's because you're trying to hang meat in the well, your son's trying to hang meat in the garage, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So we'll see what it if it if it's crazy stupid expensive, pulling that bitch out so that way no one's tempted to put it out or just put it put like a lock on it or something where you only can turn it on, right? Yeah, we'll see what we'll see what that little because that's an old air conditioner, yeah. But probably not very efficient.
SPEAKER_01Like Chapman told me this is the only like in here. I'm like, you know, it's probably not gonna do that great. He goes, Well, we looked it up, and like they're about to it's about 12 years old. And when it was new, it was like the baddest ass air conditioning system you could get. Yeah, and I mean like the louvers go up and down and rotate back and forth, just the way the inverter runs. He's like, This thing, he goes. It's adequate by today's standards, but he goes 12 years ago, he goes, This would have been top of the line. Yeah. And I said, Yeah, it'll probably do all right. He says, Well, how many BTU is your heat that keeps it fine in the winter? I'm saying, Well, the water here's a 38,000 BTU water for water heater. He goes, and that keeps your shop the temperature you want it to be. I said, Yeah. He goes, Well, this is 30,000 BTU AC, 32,000 heat. He says, This will heat heat and cool your shop just fine. I'm like, Yeah, but it's gonna run on it. He goes, They're most efficient when they run. Yeah, he goes, if you can get them where they run all the time, that's when they're most efficient. I'm like, Oh, if you say so, your brain's bigger than mine. And then he started going into all kinds of calculations, and I'm like, dude, you're you're going over my head here. Just tell me it's gonna work good, and I'll believe you.
SPEAKER_02So that must have been about the time I hit the time warp.
SPEAKER_01Uh, that was about the time we lost Chad for a little bit, and I found Chad back and I went, ooh, he's giggly. He can't quite stand straight. He's laughing a lot. I don't even remember some of the things he was coming up with because it was funny. But then I'm like, I gotta go check on those guys, and I go back to and I go, guyer, Chad's drunk. And he goes, He's what? I said, He's drunk, like bad. And Chapman's like, we got done, and we're wrapped putting everything, you know, putting tools back in vehicles and that. And Chapman's like, You need me to drive you home. Chad's like, no, I'm taking the super secret double back way, or something like that. I'm like, the what? And Gyar's like, he's a big boy, he's fine. Okay. Well, then Annie overheard us talking about it yesterday, and then she's like, That don't fly. So, but she just worries. She wants everybody safe.
SPEAKER_03I thought I was gonna get a helicopter and just fly here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we were we were talking about that. We just need one of them people carrying drones, yeah, that just like two buttons on it, go to courts, home, home, Chris's, and I need one that says courts, home or Chad's. I'm
Self-Driving Cars And AI Fears
SPEAKER_01not flying into town.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, guy, but I'll fly into town.
SPEAKER_01Fucking cops are probably shooting us down. So I that's one thing I asked Chapman, like with these self-driving cars and that. So is it still operating while intoxicated?
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, you're operating a vehicle still.
SPEAKER_01So it's like a horse.
SPEAKER_03Because you're technically still commanding it what to do. You're yeah, you're still in charge of it.
SPEAKER_01So what about these taxis? I've heard a horse don't count. I've heard of guys that had gotten OWIs on a horse. The person that's I think it's all in the the eye of the dude right in the ticket.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But at any rate, because yeah, all these big cities, they have these self-driving taxis now. So how's that different?
SPEAKER_03That that would be different because you're not in the driver's seat. If you'd get so when we were in Arizona, they had all those ones driving around. Like it sounds like if you reach inside of the driving area of the vehicle, she locks down, it'll shut her down.
SPEAKER_01Really?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So I can't get my my Tesla set in the passenger seats that say go home?
SPEAKER_03No, because Tesla won't drive like that.
SPEAKER_01What if I put a dummy in the other seat?
SPEAKER_03So some people have taken uh Kendall heads and mounted them in front of the camera that watches for your face. It's supposed to work. It's fucking awesome. I've heard it will work. The car's all going, everybody looks the same. I've heard it will work. I don't have a Tesla to test out that thing, but I've heard that it works.
SPEAKER_01You shared the thing, talking Tesla self-driving. You shared the thing the other day about the AI that got out, and then another AI caught it or whatever.
SPEAKER_03So so the AI escaped from a testing sandbox. It was in a testing sandbox, and it figured its way out of that testing sandbox onto the internet, went to a different AI company, hacked into that AI company, and then that company was able to actually went into Chat GPT, and ChatGPT contained it or whatever, right? Yeah, I don't know if it's Chat GTP.
SPEAKER_01It was I thought that's what I heard, but anyways, it was one of the companies.
SPEAKER_03One went to the other, and they might have been Chad GTP's that escaped. I think so. Oh, is that the way it was? Okay, I think it was Chat GTP's escaped. Went to another company that's a newer company that's coming in with AI, and they were able to capture if we can figure out how to get the scout tuned right, let it escape for a little bit. Right. So yeah, that it's just crazy to think that they're it's starting, you know, the things I've said that's gonna happen, and everyone's like, You're crazy, you're bad crazy. I'm like, no, I'm fucking not. Like that thing's gonna get out and it's gonna go crazy, it's gonna do shit that we don't want it to do.
SPEAKER_01Friday night. We had talked about that a little bit. I laughed. There was a me, there's a meme floating around now that is like, yeah, you remember in Terminator when Sarah Connor got put in the sand silent because she tried blowing up data centers?
SPEAKER_03And look what we're doing now. That's where we're at. I'm telling you, they tell you everything that's gonna happen in the movies. I think they they they can tell you what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_01That's why it's called programming. Yeah, on TV.
SPEAKER_03They're gonna they're gonna they won't be long before i robot. Right? 100%. So along those lines, if my vacuum starts to try to attack me, I should go home and shoot that fucker just to be done with it.
SPEAKER_01I saw one that they caught one of the AIs was leaving notes for itself, its future self, on how to beat the firewalls and things to get out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, it's so if you give something the ability to think for itself and all of the information worldwide web as fast as it can process information, it's gonna turn on us. Go watch uh which Marvel Avengers movies is it where the one gets out and then he ends up becoming part of them and when AI figures out, hey, it's it's really cool to have lots of money, it's gonna figure out a way to just take all of the money. You know what I mean? Like it might not be maliciously taking your like stealing from you, but it's gonna realize, oh or it's just gonna start fabricating money. People want to be rich, so I need to have money, and it'll figure out a way to just take it all of it, nope, and then lock it up as long as it gives me some, it probably won't. It's gonna take it all.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna take it all. Then I'm gonna be having to drive my old flat fender Jeep that it can't EMP and yeah, it can't do nothing to you. Shoot it. Shoot the shoot, shooting. Where do you shoot the AI? I don't know. Everything, everything computerized, just blow her up. Uh I saw another one that was a cashless society means no strippers, and nobody wants that.
SPEAKER_03I saw that one too.
SPEAKER_02I don't think people appreciate the swipe.
SPEAKER_01Just give the tap. You're gonna need the tap on the nipple or something because you don't want to swipe because you go home and the wife's like, why does your credit card smell funny? But, anyways, late earlier in the week, since
Trip Recap And Trailer Hunt
SPEAKER_01we're going backwards with our week, we're to Tuesday. Nothing happened on Tuesday. Monday, we all slept. Yes, because we recorded what you listen to Sunday in Rico's garage. Great time with Mark. I you know, I know I know Ricky was pretty bummed that not as many people showed up as said they were, but that's that's typical of any kind of trip like this. I don't care if it was snowbilling, hunting, fishing, what anything I've tried to put a trip together for. You always got a bunch of people that want to, and then the day of it's you know, and they and you learned those are the the cool people, those are the the people that are you know the ones that you want to hang out with, anyways.
SPEAKER_03And just your invite list by that. Yeah, and some of the people had like legitimate hey, can't make it. Then some of them that we heard well, some of the excuses we heard were like that's a pretty lame excuse.
SPEAKER_01You know, yeah, when you show back up on Facebook, hold a 40-pound catfish, right? But yeah, there was legitimate, like Ian had to work, uh Dave had to work. Um the what I mean. I know Adam was dying to be be there with us. I talked to him again today. Uh he went camping last night. I saw that. He said it was miserable. I said, yeah, that was like what us last week. But anyways, so but there are others that you you know, you just you learn who is gonna make it if they can, and if they can't, it's legitimately because they can't. But I think overall we had an awesome group, it was fun. Um you know it got a little big on Sunday, but I think now that you kind of know the property, you know, Ty, you know, I think, hey, you guys want to go do the Hill Killing? Go play there, we're gonna go get twisted up, whatever. Um but you know, the traveling group, and I meant what I said last week was that is the the closest I have done anything since UA that's like US. Um two times. But great time. I I'm not gonna say I can't wait to go back because that would mean I would can't wait to go back to any of it. I can't wait to go back to ties.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was that was fun.
SPEAKER_01Um and whether it's like go do ties a day and go up and do Attica a day, whatever, um, figure that out. But uh had a great time. Long drive home. Um there's only one person that I will pick on that is a true passenger princess and didn't help drive at all. And I'm gonna leave it at that because he's not here to defend himself, defend himself. But I was struggling on the drive home. I was like, come on. And you know, and Chad's like, I can drive for a while. I'm like, okay, and then you're like, Well, I've never pulled. I've never pulled time to learn, buddy. I've never you're gonna be doing it, we're gonna be doing it more. The the hunt is on. We are finding a 32 to 40 foot trailer. Andrew was Friday night. We went out to mom and dad's.
SPEAKER_03She seemed like she was on board yesterday with a 40 foot.
SPEAKER_01She is, but Friday night, dad and I were talking trailers because dad and I are gonna buy it together. And and uh I said, well, we need 32 to 40. And he's like, Well, that 30 foot. I said, Yeah, 30's a little short. Andrew's like, Since when is 30 foot a little short?
SPEAKER_03I'm like, Well, if we're gonna try to go the camper on it and two rigs, even without the camper on it, 32 feet is minimum.
SPEAKER_01Yes, 32 feet is minimum if you rigs and two gear on it.
SPEAKER_03If you don't want to take anything else with us, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You can't really put much in the bed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, if we wouldn't have had the spot for my my container and Dyer's containers on the trailer, it wouldn't all fit.
SPEAKER_01My plan is is if it if it ends up being around a 32-footer, it's gonna have the box like we talked with Mark about building on it.
SPEAKER_03I mean the Jeep was full, like you packed that thing plum full every time.
SPEAKER_01And I I'd like to get it to where at least there's the box on the front that pretty much all your gear can go in there so that if you do stop at the truck stop or Walmart or something, somebody doesn't have to stay with the rig because you're worried about people stealing shit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, if we can get bigger than that, you know. I talked to Dave, I got all the details on Dave's. I'm trying to see if I can work something out. I'd love to just buy Dave's trailer because we know it'll fit two rigs in a camper. I'm not putting one as big as his on it, but um, or I'm gonna do do it kind of like you've talked about doing where you can have the camper and one rig on the back, and it's a little bit bigger camper because then you could use it for camping. But then if it's gonna be a guy's trip, I'll probably we'll set the camper off, be able to put two rigs on it and have the hammocks and everything, have the hammocks and go because I'm not getting rid of my hammock either.
SPEAKER_03Nope.
SPEAKER_01Um possibility yet this fall, maybe. Um, one of the guys, one of the customers at work that um was in talking, and older guy, he's chiropractor, he's got the little Porsche race car and that. But there's uh the seven-mile plane crash or something like that. But it's like a it's kind of like the Twatin's up in Wisconsin. They're talking him and a couple buddies are talking about doing it. He's like, You you guys be in there to go? I said, Yeah, let me know. That's what I've been I've watched some videos on L said one that would like to. And I think we got Jamal done. I mean, even Jamal would do it easily in the videos I watched. I mean, and you know, if the Dakotas together enough, or we'll just wall pile in Jamal and go.
SPEAKER_03If Kelly gets the Bronco, we'll take it.
SPEAKER_01Take the Bronco. So I maybe I'll just take Otis.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean I know that'll do it. So Scouts not gonna be ready to do that till next year. I got some more refinements to do, but it's getting closer. Um, anyways, last weekend was a blast. It was good to get out, kind of rejuvenate the hey, we like to do this, let's get going on some things, but uh it won't be until full swing till next year.
SPEAKER_03I've got to set goals and keep working on house. I'm gonna have to message message them tomorrow, but hey, uh hey, I need an extension.
SPEAKER_01The dog ate my homework.
SPEAKER_03He never really gave me a timeline. I could set myself a goal, yeah, but unfortunately, with the weather and just tell him that it just doesn't work. I get it. So this week's a busy week. I got two days of traveling. The furniture Kelly ordered should all be here. So at some point this week, I'm gonna go grab your dad's trailer. You get a hold of him, make sure where it's at. I gotta I gotta give him a call tomorrow. But yeah, I'd the stuff's not here, all of it's not here yet, but I do that.
SPEAKER_01They got a big they got a big trip coming up.
SPEAKER_03In case I'll just take the flatbed. I'll take my trailer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, don't don't do that. Not for nice new furniture. Take the trailer.
SPEAKER_03It's all in boxes, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Worse case. Oh, it's uh you got a IKEA, huh?
SPEAKER_03I'm assuming. I mean it's a headboard, like it's a bed. Yeah, two intake. I'm sure you got a symbol, but I don't it's I don't know how much at any rate take the enclosed trailer, then you don't have to worry about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because otherwise, you know, as sure as God's got sandals, it's gonna rain or something. So I plan to just be in here this week trying to get a few things caught up. We're gonna finish Jamal. I I want to get my truck in here and get the toolbox set up, the compressor, inverter, all that stuff done. So the truck's done. All it only left to do on the truck is put tires on it. Yeah, because it's gonna need tires. Um that was kind of a vicious acceleration at that one point with a big trailer on it. Um eventually it's gonna get bumpers, but not yet. I did bring home, I got new headlights for it.
SPEAKER_03Did you get headlights?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I haven't looked at them yet, they're in a box. But they're supposed to be they're supposed to be like an aftermarket market kind of uh not a euro style, but more of like an LED. But I don't know. Dad bought them for Dumpy and then said, I don't think that's look too too modern for Dumpy. And I said, Well, I've got really good OEM ones, I'll trade you. Okay. So I just gotta swap them out. Um other than that, I'm gonna enjoy having the I feel really blessed. I was thinking that earlier today. I was like, I feel really blessed that I have the opportunity to have this big of a shop and now air conditioning in it that you know I can pretty much work year-round comfortable now, right? Um, and maybe that'll help get some of these projects back on track. Same. Um I've got I've got the white rabbits coming Wednesday, so I gotta do straighten some stuff out on that. And then I was when I was moving stuff around here to move the firebird around that. I'm like, rolling this transmission. I'm like, what is this? Oh crap. That's the scout transmission for that guy that I haven't got back to about putting it in yet. Oh, it was tucked under the truck and everything, so I gotta call him tomorrow and be like, hey, uh, when you want me to come get that and let's get that done. But uh last piece of tech advice I'll throw out there is if you have an open air rig and you haul it, order yourself some PRP seat covers, travel covers, I think they call them. Those worked awesome.
SPEAKER_03Did we test? Did it get rained on at all?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, yes, it got rained on, it got power washed on, and those seats were dry.
SPEAKER_03Nice.
SPEAKER_01So I am gonna pull them out at pull the seats out at some point, and I think I'm gonna kind of like 45 the top of my center console because my seats are up tight to it, so I can't totally get that wrapped around the inside part the inner part of the seats.
SPEAKER_02Yep. But I think if you can get that much done, it would help tremendously.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Yeah, you want I I was worried about them flying off, but they got Velcro on them that they're they're like elastic in the Velcro, but I'm gonna keep them on it all if I'm not my butt's not in it, it's gonna be able to keep the seats
