SPEAKER_04

Silence. Oh, you gotta turn him on and then mute the one below, right? I'm confused at how this works.

SPEAKER_03

I am too sh Okay, it's rolling now. I think I have it right. We can hope.

SPEAKER_06

One, two, three, deweat.

SPEAKER_03

Welcome to Heat Troot Garage where friends come together to share their love of life, creativity, liberty, and everything in between. This is episode two of season four. Sitting at the table at HTG headquarters with a slight fog of grinding dust and welding gas in the air. Smoke. Big G. What's up? Das Chad.

SPEAKER_06

Hello.

SPEAKER_03

And of course, your captain. Yes, we're short of guy. Hopefully he's gonna show up a little bit later, but he is uh fighting a AC system.

SPEAKER_04

Trying to get vacuum on his AC.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so we'll let him wait, we will wait for him to fill in current status of his project vehicle.

SPEAKER_06

It's like he thinks it's hot or something, huh?

SPEAKER_03

Well, he does like his AC. As he duly pointed out last night when uh we were trying to help the young fellers get a truck started.

SPEAKER_04

But we have lots to talk about this week, boys. Yes, we were off last week. We had too far behind on projects.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, and the marks, we are or thing are we calling them thing one thing two?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know who's one and two because we gotta have a look see who was here first. But Mark Hathaway, Mark Trepto. Uh as always, they are always on the ball with hey, did you guys did it not post? Did it did I miss it? Can I not find it? Um one of these times we're gonna tell them, oh yeah, it's out there, and even if it's not. Uh nope, we had to take last week off and just get some projects done. We didn't really get any projects done last week. They didn't really get done until this week. We were busy last week though. Like oh man, we were busy all this week, too.

SPEAKER_04

Geyer's project got done last week.

SPEAKER_03

That's why we this past week, but we were working on it, that's why we didn't.

SPEAKER_06

That was why we missed the episode.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, it's all Geyer's fault.

SPEAKER_04

He's not here, he's gonna take the blame.

SPEAKER_03

So if you're upset about not getting an episode last week, uh you can send your uh concerns to uh send a reverse only fans to Geyer. Yes. He is uh on Facebook as Jason Geyer. If you need the if you need a a uh to make sure you're sending it to the right one, uh we will make sure we get you his right and if you would like we could give you other contact information.

SPEAKER_04

I mean if you know where he works, you can go onto the internet and find out what his email address is.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, don't send it to a don't send it to a school one though, maybe that that might that might be bad. You can't control what people send to you. This is true. So what are we drinking tonight, Chad? Let's start off with that.

SPEAKER_06

Uh Jimbo Billy Bob dropped off some Wyoming whiskey, small batch bourbon bottled in Kirby whisk. Oh Kirby, Wyoming. So it says on the back of the label the bourbon frontier has moved west to the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming, where the high country winds flow through the fields of wheat, corn, and barley, where water from glaciers waits in deep limestone aquifers, and this is the uh and where this whiskey is made by hand without shortcuts or compromise to create a small batch bourbon with the right to be called Wyoming's whiskey. Aged five years. Uh, and according to the Surgeon General, women should not be drinking this while pregnant.

SPEAKER_03

What happens if they do?

SPEAKER_06

If they don't grow up big and strong, oh become a Dustin.

SPEAKER_03

Sorry, Dawson. I haven't heard much from our little fella lately. I haven't either. He's been quiet. Or as I should say, my equal fella.

SPEAKER_04

He's been quiet lately.

SPEAKER_03

I've been uh somebody somebody last week were like, well, I can make fun of you for being short. I said, Well, I am, so you're not really making fun of me. I mean, I've just yes, I need a ladder to reach most things. I'm short, big deal. Let's move on.

SPEAKER_06

What are you getting on the nose with that, Chris?

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_06

I think I'm getting a lot of brown sugar and maybe a hint of toffee.

SPEAKER_03

I was catching the toffee. And I definitely can get like an oaky aroma to it.

SPEAKER_06

I don't think it's quite as gonna be as sweet as the brown sugar bourbon that we had. Last week? Yeah, uh no, like a while back.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But it kind of reminds me of is that.

SPEAKER_04

The cooler's light tastes like it always does. Really good.

SPEAKER_03

It's got a little more burn to it. Last week's I could drink, just keep drinking it. This one, I think it needs cut.

SPEAKER_06

It's got kind of a late floral note to it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I guess I didn't catch the floral note, but I I guess I I didn't quite get the burn so much either. I thought the other one maybe burned a little harder.

SPEAKER_03

It could be. I've been grinding and welding for four days. My nose is all screwed up. Kelly pointed Dr. Kelly pointed that out last night. I was making noises. We're waiting on Chad's response.

SPEAKER_06

It's kind of a complex taste of it.

SPEAKER_03

It is. I will give it that.

SPEAKER_06

Almost has just a little bit of that earthiness like what you get from a scotch. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm getting a scotch feel out of it. That's I couldn't put I couldn't put I couldn't put the thumb on what I was thinking.

SPEAKER_06

I I don't mind that one. I think I will cut it, but I don't mind it.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't mind it. I think I'll like a better cut.

SPEAKER_06

It's just a splash of water.

SPEAKER_03

Let's roll in. Who wants to go first? You bought we all got updates, but I don't think mine are as big as anybody else's, but um let's just because we're on whiskey, um Chad and I had a little marketplace mission.

SPEAKER_06

And we didn't even even have to drive very far.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_06

Which is rare.

SPEAKER_03

We almost ran out of diesel though. Um actually I almost ran out the next morning, but uh probably one of the coolest and most interesting marketplace missions I've ever been on. I think this was Chad's uh procurement. And I will say that JB3 has never even taken me on one that was this interesting. And I've gone on some interesting ones with dad.

SPEAKER_06

But from there, I'm gonna let Chad so found a low mileage 5.3 um LM7, the like 99 to 07 variety.

SPEAKER_03

I can't ever keep the numbers or letters.

SPEAKER_06

I just barely can. Uh it's got the high compression heads on it, but they need to be ported to flow good. Um 130,000 miles on the thing. Guy said he drove the vehicle before the motor got pulled, so I at least felt good that it was probably a pretty decent running motor. He just decided to go bigger because he likes fast things. Yep, got the computer, the whole wiring harness, everything with it.

SPEAKER_03

He said the electric pedal.

SPEAKER_06

Anything that uh I find that I am missing, let him know because he had boxes everywhere and he thought he pulled everything, but he might have missed something, so let him know, kind of thing. Um he was asking 900. I offered him seven, he said come get it. So we did. So got there and basically he's got a what a two-stall man cave.

SPEAKER_03

Um two and a half.

SPEAKER_06

Well, and then he's gotten like two more bays of like V.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, there was like two more add-ons. He's he has totally redone it. He's right there in town of Edgewood, just north of us. Um, but as we're strapping down the we set a head on the lift and I backed in the garage, and because it's like what was it, like a 10 by 10 door?

SPEAKER_06

It wasn't a full double door. I think it was like probably just a regular nine-foot-wide door, but it was taller.

SPEAKER_03

It was kind of yeah. So, but then he's got like all this room off to the other, you know, beside the door. And then we're striving on and look over, and I'm like, Chad, his workbench looks a lot cooler than mine. Chad looks over there and goes, Yeah, it does. Describe the workbench.

SPEAKER_06

It was about probably what, 12 foot of uh three shelves worth of whiskey bottles with the with a shrine in the middle of the really fun stuff.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, with it with a locked uh glass cabinet in the middle of it. It looked it was an old bar back, I'm guessing, from some bar.

SPEAKER_06

But and he and his wife travel all over the country just traveling, and every place they stop, he looks for something fun.

SPEAKER_03

And then when he finds something that he likes, he orders it later because the one he gave he like so then he's like, Well, you guys want to try some? Sure.

SPEAKER_06

So he pulled out some Devil's River, which which which we've had.

SPEAKER_03

We've had, but you know, our our slow look, you know, we've killed a lot of the brain cells off with the whiskey. So we didn't remember that our good friend Texas Dan has sent us some barrel strength.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. So we got to try the non-barrel strength and the agave bourbon, which was really interesting. I liked it. Does it kind of like tequila? No, it's got that tequila kind of sweetness to it, yeah. So um I can't think of my my pool playing buddy, has uh a certain uh terramana tequila that has that flavor to it. Okay, so it's it's just uh the the sweetness coming through.

SPEAKER_03

So it's it's just a real one, then we're bull, you know, we're bullshitting about stuff and cars and the things that old fellers bullshit about again leaning on a bar in a you know in a shop. And he's like, Oh, I'll try this one, and this has got agave in it. You know, and Chad's like tequila. He goes, No, no, it's just agave is added to the whiskey, and it was a lot sweeter, a little thicker kind of on the palate.

SPEAKER_06

So if you'd like swish it in your mouth, it would almost kind of thicken up.

SPEAKER_03

And uh, really good. Of course, he's got these little, he's got a stack of you know, throwaway shot glasses, and then he's like, We're talking about him. He told you he found it down in San Antonio on the on the river walk, and he goes, I think that's all I got left of that one. He was looking on, you know, and we were telling him about they should come to Cars and Coffee. He didn't know about Cars and Coffee. Oh, yeah, that's it so we took and he's got some nice cars. Um I can't remember what what was the kit car that this motor is supposed to go into that you got.

SPEAKER_06

He was working on a 1929 Mercedes kit car, so kind of that open cockpit, you know, sported sporter kind of look to it. You should have seen how it was all packaged in there.

SPEAKER_03

Isn't that what Chevy Chase drives out to the farm and funny farm?

SPEAKER_06

I don't know that I've seen that movie.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. I'm date, I'm dating myself, but um I think maybe they're called a gazelle. Might be. But you know, like typically you see they have like the continental tire cut on the back of them, and uh he's doing this all more hot rod. Um but instead of this motor, his brother-in-law decided that he should build they should build a motor. His brother's a motor builder, or brother-in-law is a motor builder up in Strawberry, and I know of I know of that engine builder, and he built some pretty pretty nice stuff. But uh, he told him, he goes, We built this motor, but I kind of felt feel like I'm building a motor for your coffin. Because the car weighs what, Chad, 2,000 pounds? Yeah, it wasn't very much, and it's got like 450. Oh, yeah, that's cool.

SPEAKER_04

Like 450, 500 horse. It's like the one the lady drives in 101 Dalmatians, yes, kind of.

SPEAKER_03

Hers is a lot bigger though. Yeah, but so yeah, and Corvette, was it Corvette or Camaro wheels on it?

SPEAKER_06

Wheels tires. They're Camaro, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_03

The the wide low pro, and then and he's like, Oh yeah, got come over here, I gotta see this. He goes, I well, he'd already talked about his his 68 Camaro that 69. That he goes, Yeah, I gotta redo that. We go over there and he's got a what is 2010 or 2012 something like that. Camaro convertible right next to this beautiful blue 69 Camaro, and Chad goes, Thought you said it needed redone.

SPEAKER_06

So yeah, I want to like redo the seals, the door seals. It used to be a a uh not a reg top uh vinyl vinyl top car, so it's kind of bubbles, it's got little like rivet parts that are kind of popping through.

SPEAKER_03

And he's got it that had a 496 in it.

SPEAKER_06

Uh 396. 396, but he was thinking that he was originally gonna do a 496, and then he decided he was just gonna put like a what Z Z 454 in the city.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the 454 that's based, kind of like an LS motor. He's decided to put fuel injection on it and make it so it's fun to drive. But he said he'd have that out this weekend, but of course, I wasn't anywhere to see any cars this weekend. But so yeah, it was uh tell him about the podcast, tell him about the foundation. We we we cover all kinds of topics and BSed and we could have stayed there for hours. Oh man, because he's like, Well, what do you want to try next? I'm like, I I gotta drive back. I know it's only Manchester, but he goes, Nope, because I I get it. He goes, I don't ever be responsible for you know be part of somebody getting an OWI, so that's too expensive. Stop back anytime, though. He said we said, Well, stop down some type, and so he's like, Where's your shop at? I said, Which one? My day job or our shop, you know. I said, You he did have a Jeep sitting there, he had a newer little JK two-door sitting there.

SPEAKER_04

I'm I'm wanting a two-door Jeep just to put around in now, yeah. Thanks, Al.

SPEAKER_03

So what else you got, Chad? What else you've been going on?

SPEAKER_06

Uh I've been trying to 3D print a cup holder insert so that the mugs don't tip out when I touch the gas pedal. On on the Astro Van. So I'm like on version six now.

SPEAKER_03

We've talked about the new one, right?

SPEAKER_06

Uh think so. I think so, yeah. Yeah, I'm pretty pretty sure.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Is that that was almost three weeks ago now?

SPEAKER_04

Because we split missions, like you and I. That's right. You and I went after tires.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, that's right.

SPEAKER_06

So uh this last version, I was able to get like two layers printed and then it screwed up, just enough for me to set it in there and say, I think it's gonna work. Um thought that I was I had the wrong pattern for the inside that I've always had problems with, so I switched it, and then I was having all sorts of goofy problems. So, like the heating element, what actually does the heating, the thread stripped out for the nozzle. So now it just kind of everywhere. So now I gotta order a new one of those. It makes a mess. Yeah. So my hot end is not doing so hot.

SPEAKER_04

Not doing so hot. Happens.

SPEAKER_06

So I pushed the Camaro out and washed it up. I am not super impressed with the uh soap that I've got for the foam cannon. It left streaks freaking everywhere. Which one are you using? Uh I couldn't even tell you, honestly. I got it a long time ago.

SPEAKER_04

Check with Caleb, he's got some that's oh, you don't you don't want to shout out your boy? My boy.

SPEAKER_03

You're the one that likes my stuff shiny. I make it functional.

SPEAKER_04

I do like things shiny. But yeah, Caleb's the one that works.

SPEAKER_03

How's it go? I joke, a key to key.

SPEAKER_04

A key to key. They make a little joke.

SPEAKER_03

But uh actually, his stuff's not terrible.

SPEAKER_04

No, I I don't I don't hate it, but it's it's easier to go to Walmart than wait for, you know, yes. And I hate being that guy, but it's like I'm away with everything. When I want to wash the car and I'm out of soap, I don't want to be like, oh, I'm gonna wait for a week, four or five. Three days, whatever, yeah. So I just go and get something that works. And Caleb's got one that works really good, doesn't leave streets.

SPEAKER_03

Our tens of listeners should know that we are not well at being patient or planning, patient or planning ahead.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's amazing that we keep extra welding wire and grinding wheels on hand, honestly.

SPEAKER_04

That's kind of a new thing. Yeah. Honestly. I mean, how many nights were we working like oh, we're done.

SPEAKER_03

Saturday.

SPEAKER_04

Let's get drunk, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

Saturday I had to run after I had to run to the shop the complete off-road to get some stuff some parts, and and uh I stopped at Harbor Freight on the way back through and grabbed some Vulcan welding wire. Haven't tried it. Haven't tried it yet, haven't tried it. So I grabbed it because I was like, I don't, I might run out because we had, but we're gonna talk about the stuff that we were working on all weekend, and then I got home and I pulled the the welding cart drawer open and oh, there's some in it.

SPEAKER_04

I just bought one. I was like, we got two rolls. You wouldn't read that whole roll I just got, and it's like wow, there's a welding going on when I wasn't around.

SPEAKER_03

If somebody wanted if like air gas or superior somebody wanted to be a gas sponsor for the podcast, I'm we'll pay for the gas.

SPEAKER_04

Give us the damn tank. Just give us $400 for an extra tank. That's nuts. Just give us a tank, we'll pay for the gas. I'll buy the gas. Just or waive that rental startup fee. We already have one. I'd like to have a second just to be it'd be nice to have a second, but when they told me $400, I'm like, you're our your our wives and our livers would thank them.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, because when we're not a dwelling gas, there's only one thing to do.

SPEAKER_06

The only other thing I can think of is this week's uh version of Ben tracing, taking the old Aster van and cutting the whole front out and uh making a camper van.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, I say yes on camper trailer, like an overland trailer, so you can camp in it, your kitchens in it.

SPEAKER_06

I'm on board a hundred percent park it and camp and drive around.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, like base camp, set up base camp, and then or if even if it's like I don't know if you're able to go.

SPEAKER_03

We won't have it done this year, but like like the trip we're doing in July, even if you don't take the the the regular asteroid on all the trails and you jump in with one of us, just having that at base camp so you got a place to sleep, a place to cook out of cooking, because you know, we've talked about the cooking side. I'm thinking, I'm thinking hot water, shower, all of it.

SPEAKER_06

And just you know, if the family wants to go camping, we can still pull the seats out of the main van. Right. Yep, all of you can have a spot. Everyone can sleep on the inside.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. So and plus pretty tempting, even even added bonus is it would free up a drivetrain for the YJT for me. I don't want to do another LS, I don't want to do a straight six, I want to do something different. So uh the 4-3 has always been a great little motor. And that one runs really good, and I I do not need anything high horsepower for that. That is just uh that's my little work truck. So, but I I chat I there's so many cool things that we could do, make on our own. Um matching wheels, matching paint. I mean, that'd be cool blowing around. That'd be cool just to take the car shows that way.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Do the do the mobile studio.

SPEAKER_04

Fuck yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know, we can I already said something to Geyer last night. We're driving back that like one of these nights we're gonna have to throw the studio equipment in the van and Chad's gonna have to drive us around. Ethan will drive us around. Or have Ethan drive us around.

SPEAKER_04

Have one of the kids drive us around. Gravel travel. Yeah. Yeah, but I like it. Maybe we should go camp. Maybe Caleb drive us around then.

SPEAKER_03

We need we need to go camping in that situation. Even if it's I don't want to go to Backbone. Backbone's too busy, I don't want to go Bailey's forward too busy.

SPEAKER_04

But one of the other small little parks, I would love to find someone that's got a timber area that they'd be like, hey, we might know somebody on a little fire away from people to camp for a couple nights. We're not gonna get rowdy, one shit up, we're just gonna one night and relax when there's not people.

SPEAKER_06

We want to test our off-road sleeping situation.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yes. Because I think I especially once we get El Moco done and I get the the few little things I gotta straighten out on the scout. Yeah, by all means, I'd like to be like, you know, 20 30 miles away and we drive there and just go camp for the night and just pull in. I don't want to go wheeling, I just want to park with the scout.

SPEAKER_04

There, get my gear out of it to know that go late afternoon, set up camp, cook a really good meal, you know, a UAP some beers, and you guys have your whiskey for uh uh let's call it it would be like a UA test run.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, just to know that our rigs could do it, all of the rigs. Yep.

SPEAKER_04

That'd be a blast.

SPEAKER_03

I I I know I know some of our other off-road friends are are start have said this is that the not the overlanding, but the little light wheeling and then camping like with family and that.

SPEAKER_04

Kelly's getting sick and tired of me talking about camping.

SPEAKER_03

Like she's like, you should just figure out a time and I really think I was thinking yesterday or last week, I was like, oh, maybe Sunday night we should just go to Coffins Girl over or uh Fountain Springs or somewhere like that.

SPEAKER_04

And then it's we had so much going on that plus it'd be busy this weekend everywhere, right?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if like Fountain Springs, I don't even know if that was all primitive camping, so those spots are usually a little easier.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. But until we get stands, we need to find a place that has trees, though.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I gotta remember Andrew's got one for us to try that they make for like a backyard hammock to see if it would work for ours or not. Right. It folds up pretty nice, she said. So I just gotta bring one home and try it. But but yeah, definitely, Chad. I think it the only thing for you would be where where to park it when you're not using it. But you you saw the slab around back, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's it's not big enough to put that on. Would it no? It's like I don't know, maybe five foot wide, just a dog kennel, basically. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, put in trailer parking with all the rest of them. Hell, if we need a safe space, hopefully. More trailers and should I park there? The more and more Kelly's like, let's just put a shop up. Let's put a shop up. Because then we can park it behind it and she won't have to look at it.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, if we ever find a 30 to 40 footer to park there, geez, we need a welding gas sponsor, we need a trailer sponsor.

SPEAKER_04

None of us ever gonna have a we're not cool enough.

SPEAKER_03

I'll pay for diesel fuel. Yeah. So we just need like a trailer company, be like, hey, just use our trailer to go on your trips, then drop it off in the fall. We don't have to store it all winter and pick one up in the spring. Perfect, right? I guess maybe we should send some letters. I mean, we're not like actively looking, we're just dreaming on we're just dreaming.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, there's a trailer guy in town that's like, hey buddy, hook us up. He probably doesn't listen to us.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe we should call A to Z Transport. Maybe we just have them haul our shit every time.

SPEAKER_04

That's probably gonna be expensive. They're gonna have to find a load to get here so that way they're not empty hauling.

SPEAKER_03

That's true.

SPEAKER_04

You don't you don't want to go one, you know. That's a long distance.

SPEAKER_03

No, they're they're they're pretty much in the spelsterly market, so something called covered with dog crap or something to haul up, or nobody else is gonna get that reference.

SPEAKER_02

Nope, not many people will.

SPEAKER_03

And Chad, how is it with water? Nice. I agree with so I I some classic Coca-Cola. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

So I made it so you could actually kind of taste some of the extra flavors and didn't burn at all. So nice.

SPEAKER_04

So Dr. Kelly has switched up gears. So yeah, I switched to drinking Coors Light years ago because it was a pain in the ass to have two types of beer. Like when we were young, trying to one, afford two types of beer, two, find someone. So she switched you to coors light. Find someone to procure said two types of beer. So I I drank Miller Light back in the day. That was my that was my cooler, so that's what she liked to drink.

SPEAKER_03

She just hit a whole other level of cool for me.

SPEAKER_04

So wait, I'm not done with my story.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I know where it's going.

SPEAKER_04

So when her grandma passed away, like one of her family likes to tailgate everything. So we were tailgating the funeral, and they drank bushlight. Kelly was like, Oh, I'll have one. Fell in love with Bushlight.

SPEAKER_03

Went back to her roots, huh?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she's like, This is like high school in the cornfield. That's what she said last night. So now we have bushlight and coors light in the world.

SPEAKER_03

You have a whole selection in that fridge.

SPEAKER_04

There's tons of options in there. Because I I went over there to see what was in there, and I'm like, I guess I don't thank Gear for that because he needed a cooler, and someone had a cooler that was full of stuff that they needed a place to put it. So I went so Gyar could borrow cooler.

SPEAKER_03

Whoever whoever had filled that cooler with said what uh basic white bitch uh red, white, and blues or whatever. It tasted like fucking Kool-Aid.

SPEAKER_04

So I mean they're too sweet for me.

SPEAKER_03

And see, I'm the opposite. I don't like the bitterness of beer.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, there's lots of options in the refrigerator.

SPEAKER_03

I always tell everybody I don't I don't when I drink beer, I don't drink beer for the taste, the effect.

SPEAKER_04

I love the way the beer taste.

SPEAKER_03

And most of the time, I mean, whiskey's the same way. I it's only because Chad is equally, you know, just it's fun to try different ones and think about it. But I am by no means a I don't care what you put in front of me. If it's I like to have it relax or something. For sure. Like these days it's one night a week as I sit in front of a microphone. Or last or last night with with uh whatever those things were watching somebody try to get a motor started.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't go so hot.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_04

We'll have to have him on well once he gets that a little farther along, we'll have to have him come over and give us an update on the city. He is gonna probably beat me though. I I I probably will just it depends. He pushed it back in the corner and cleaned the whole garage. I haven't seen it in person yet. Yeah, but the pictures I got, I was like, whoa. Like Icky's in the middle, and Rocky's in the third stall, yeah, tractors in between them, so Kelly can park in the first stall. That hasn't been a possibility in long times.

SPEAKER_03

So well, we'll see. I doubt it's gonna be fall at the earliest that I get to the square body. As much as I don't think he'll wait that long. I think he's just burnt out on it right now. As quick as I could probably get it running, and I just too much going on. But before we get into whatever I've been doing, uh, what did what'd you have going the last two weeks?

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_03

Last time the last time you talked to our our friends uh as we ride along with them, you had gotten tires.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, so we got the tires, scored the tires, and then we kind of switched gears. We're working on Gears project for a few days because unfortunate incident. Well, and if he'll have to fill him in next week if he doesn't make it tonight.

SPEAKER_06

I I think he'll probably come out. He was asking if it was worth swinging out. Okay. We've only been recording for a half hour, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so he'll probably be out then. So yeah, I helped him with that like two or three nights in a row till two in the morning o'clock in the morning.

SPEAKER_03

Like midnight, 1 a.m. I'm like, guys, 5 a.m.

SPEAKER_04

comes early. Right. I got a crash. I think it was Saturday night, Friday or Saturday night, it was three when I got home. And then Sunday night, Sunday night's night that we skipped recording. All of us were here. Yeah, you went in, Chad took off, you went inside, and I I'm like, I told Guy, I'm like, I napped in the chair for a little bit. I'll hang here, you know, until we can see if we can get it all buttoned up to the to try to test fire. I'm like, I'll stay that late. And so I say that we say it to a certain point, and it's like, okay, let's go home. Yep. And then I don't know if it was was that Sunday or Monday? That was Sunday, I believe.

SPEAKER_03

So I was off last Monday, too.

SPEAKER_04

And that might have been that was Sunday because you you were like, I'm not working tomorrow, and guys like you still gotta be up early.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so I finally crashed because Andrew had appointments. Yeah. And then that's right, because I didn't even come out, I didn't even come out here on Monday. I looked at the camera and saw it was still in the hoist, no front end on it or nothing. And then he got out here like Monday night and I or maybe it was Tuesday night or something. He got out here because I stayed came out to help him, and I'm like, does it run? I didn't get any updates. He goes, Well, you didn't ask. I'm like, I don't have to ask, it's your project. You have to give the update, right? But he's like, No, it it is that when we figured out that it wouldn't start with crazy that was two weeks ago.

SPEAKER_04

That's two weeks ago. Last week we got it all, we got the reason we skipped.

SPEAKER_03

We're getting too far into his project.

SPEAKER_04

Well, the reason we skipped that week is because we were close.

SPEAKER_03

Once we got his project out.

SPEAKER_04

You brought Al's in.

SPEAKER_03

I guess I guess we'll segue to mine to get back to yours.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because so I didn't do anything because last week so I got our friend Al said three days and all that bullshit.

SPEAKER_03

Good friend Al bought a uh 99, 2000 TJ. Uh really nice little rig. It's dark, forest green, like Court loves. His second favorite color. Third, okay, third favorite color. 41's my second. Okay. And then uh but needed framework. We we knew this, we went and picked it up. We talked about going down and picking it up for you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was quite a while ago.

SPEAKER_03

So then I I'm like, yes, the the right front, which we found out the dude jumped a curb with that's how he broke it. Found that out today. Uh it ended up needing all six sections. It probably could have not. There's two sections five. Probably could have done, probably could have done four. Everything on the passenger side, the middle on the driver's side, but I'm like, we're already here.

SPEAKER_04

It was gonna rust out of six.

SPEAKER_03

It's gonna rust out.

SPEAKER_04

You might as well.

SPEAKER_03

Let's just do it now. So cut it open. How about how much how many pounds do you suppose that bucket weighs?

SPEAKER_04

I I never I personally never picked up.

SPEAKER_06

All the rust that you took out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's a three-gallon Minarage bucket.

SPEAKER_06

I'll bet it weighs all of 40 pounds.

SPEAKER_04

So Al's wife and stepdaughter both could pick it up. Yeah, they because they both wanted to. We showed them all the stuff when they were stopped by because it's four.

SPEAKER_03

It's gonna be her, it's gonna be a her jeep. Yep. Um, we got that. Tried to test drive it last night. Uh it brakes weren't real great, and the the temp gauge was acting funny, so we brought it back. Today we put it through it back on the lift from the broken break line.

SPEAKER_04

We got sidelined.

SPEAKER_03

We got sidelined. Yeah, surprise.

SPEAKER_04

We got sidelined.

SPEAKER_03

We went on a side quest. Yep. Um to get try to help get Rocky going.

SPEAKER_04

Well, Caleb, he's like, I'm ready to start it, and I want you to be here when it starts. I'm like, okay, I'll head back that way. Hell yeah, I'm coming. And Chris's like, I'll go too. And then Diard messaged in the time frame, and it's like, we're leaving the shop, going to my house. And he's like, that sounds like a fun time. So then he showed up and then anticlimatic start.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. Then we sat there and drank, and then Guyard gave me right home. I didn't even make him pull the driveway. I'm like, just stop in the other driver.

SPEAKER_04

Stop the driver, I'll jump out.

SPEAKER_03

He did stop fully. He didn't make me tuck and roll at least.

SPEAKER_04

But that was nice of him.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it was. But uh, so we finished that up today.

SPEAKER_04

And we fixed the brake line, checked the floor. Fixed the brake line, check all the fluids. It's topped everything off.

SPEAKER_03

I'd drive it, I'd drive it anywhere right now.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I told him today. I'm like, I'd drive it home.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they came up to see it today, and I'm like, You're taking it home? They're like, oh no, we're not. I'm like, okay, whatever. Right. So um, I I just think I don't think Al was ready to take it home. Yeah. And they're still, you know, stepdaughter just got up here. They they drove 27 hours. They took off like, what do you say, 4 or 5 a.m. Saturday morning.

SPEAKER_04

Something like that, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Drove to basically the Gulf Coast, Miss Mississippi, yeah, Gulf Coast, picked up the stepdaughter, loaded her crap up in 20 minutes, right back north. So Iron Man trip. But Al's like, I wanted to get down there and get back out. I didn't want to be down there anymore. I'm like, I get it. I've been down there, I've gone down and visited him before. Uh so, anyways, so they came up today and he'll come get up. I told him I said, come up some night this week and just like give me a little heads up and I'll plan accordingly and we'll go hit the Mexican restaurant or something. So because I think he he was really hoping we could go to a Mexican restaurant today, and by the time they got here, Izzy had just left to go get us burger or get us hardys, because I'm like, uh, Court, if we go, the afternoon's derailed. Yep. So Izzy went and got us some sustenance, and so we ate that while we talked to Al and his wife and stepdaughter, and then we got back on it, and that's where I'm gonna pitch it back to you, Court.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, we finished that up and then started working on the links on the front of El Moco. So we started like last night I did I we cut like so you cut all the pieces out for the towers Friday or Saturday night.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Last night I was out and did all the grinding.

SPEAKER_03

Friday night, because you were supposed to have date night and you took Kelly out for date night to come to the shop.

SPEAKER_04

We did our so she she was peopled out after her day at work. I'm people let's just cook something here and hang out. So we did, and we sat on the couch and we shared TikToks back and forth, and she charted. I love doing that with Annie. And that's all she does is chart. I mean, that's what her life is. So we we back and forth, you know. She was charting, I was sitting there trying TikToks, and I'm like, I'm gonna go for a rep bud. And she's like, Yeah, we can do that. And it was probably what I got here like 10:30, quarter to 11. Nothing like that. So it was late. Yep. And so we jumped in icky and just took off. And I'm like, let's just she's where are you gonna go? I'm like, I don't know. I go, let's go see what the guys are doing over at the shop. You know, they're over there dicking around. I'm like, look over there. So we just head over here and we stayed for half hour, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

I'll tell you what, I'm gonna interrupt your story, your your burning here to say that uh two nights in a row, I was ready to crash and like an angel, Chad walked through the door and just get to work, bitch. No, it was it was just because I was out here by myself, tunes cranked, like just slogging through it. Like, I want to get this done. They need it back. I've waited too long to get it done. Let's get it done. And then Chad would show up, and uh, was that Saturday night, Chad, that we killed all the brain cells?

SPEAKER_06

Um Friday and Saturday.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, because well, Saturday night we both were spraying the old Rust Joli and Rust converter under there. Each had a can in our hands, and also looking at Chad, I'm like, Chad, are you getting high? And he's like, Maybe yes, yes, I am. So then Sunday I came. The only thing I Sunday morning I came out and I sprayed the the satin block on it. Turned out really sharp under there. I'm really happy with it. Um, you know, and like one of our local law and county law enforcement, and he there's a couple of those guys, they'll they'll swing in and when they see the lights on, they know they can stop and just stretch their legs for a minute and hang out. And he come on and he's looking and he's like, You do all this? I'm like, Yeah. Goes, Wow, you're you're really good. I said, I don't think so, but I appreciate you saying so. And uh I I always say that those when we do those revealing those repairs at the shop with auto rust parts for eight years. I think they're stronger when we fix them than they were when they came off the factory floor because it's twice as thick as the regular metal, and we're basically replacing everything but the top of it, you know, with the top two inches. Yeah, it wraps around it, and so and it drives good. We drove it, yeah, it drives great, but but yeah, don't both those two nights. Chad Chad was like he'd show up and it'd kind of a second win, and all right, let's keep cranking.

SPEAKER_06

I gotta get out of this chair, it's wrecking my back. I'm going to Chris's, you know.

SPEAKER_03

And so we so that's done, and we worked at Elmoco today. I am super happy with that suspension. Yeah, so we started it out today.

SPEAKER_04

Nothing had happened to that Jeep in probably two months, month and month.

SPEAKER_03

A little here, a little there, but not much. It's been pretty much just other than buying parts, it's been kind of there's been money spent on it, but it's been back burner just because we're like, oh, let's get this done out of the way first. Oh, let's get this done out of the way.

SPEAKER_04

I have project paralysis right now. Like, I don't want to do anything. It's like, let's find a project that we can get done and check it off. Yeah, find a project, get it done, check it off. It's gonna help me mentally not be like burnt out, I think. And that's what I saw on Kelly with the cabinet stuff. I'm like, I'm just I'm so fucking burnt out with everything we have going on that it's like I I don't want to work on something that I'm not when I'm not ready to do it, it's not gonna turn out the way I want it to turn out. I go, we've got a plan to get it done.

SPEAKER_03

And old JB3 sticks a knife in and turns it yesterday. Turns it.

SPEAKER_04

He's not the only one. There's multiple people like, hey, how's the kitchen coming? It's like, fuck you. It's not coming.

SPEAKER_02

Love you, but shut up.

SPEAKER_04

There's a plan. There's a plan. It's coming. But anyway, so you know, uh, so today we after cleaning up and had to take a little nap break, have a soda. Yeah. Then we got to it. And that's how good of friends, Court and I are.

SPEAKER_03

We we nap together in the shop.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Not like together.

SPEAKER_03

We were sitting in a chair separately.

SPEAKER_06

Who's the pig spoon?

SPEAKER_03

It was it. I I was totally like as I started because we just I I had hit a point like I couldn't remember walking one side of the frame to the other, I couldn't remember where I was measuring off of. And finally I said, Court, caffeine break. Sat down, grabbed a Mountain Dew, flipped on YouTube just for some noise. You were scrolling to check up on your your war update. We'll talk about that on the on the Patreon. Um, and then I looked over, you were asleep, and I could feel I was like, ah, so I set my phone for like 15-minute break. I'm like, I know at some point Andrew's gonna walk in the door and go, What the hell are you doing?

SPEAKER_04

Last night she texted you, this is why you guys don't get anything done. Yeah, we're I said I was sitting sitting in there. We're we're gonna run to courts quick, is what the text was.

SPEAKER_03

And then like two hours later, I was sitting, I was sitting in a chair in Court's garage, sending her TikToks, and we were sitting in escalate seats. Escalate seats, they're comfy. They are comfy. And she sends back, this is why you guys never get anything done. I'm like, Yeah. We're aware, but I was sending her some very sweet, loving, motivational TikToks, and some funny dumb ones.

SPEAKER_04

She's like, get your fucking ass home and work on something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, get something done.

SPEAKER_04

But four link on the front is done. It is done. It packaged awesome. It's in. It needs to be turned off. I there's a little bit, it has about a quarter of the quarter of a roughen is done.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's it's tacked in. Let's call it that.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

And it's we gotta do shock towers yet. Yes, we're doing shock towers because they just that's what we have a plasma program for, and we don't have our bender fixture. We don't have a bender, so and honestly, in a JK, I like the look of towers better. Yeah, especially in the back because we can seal them up because we're gonna come into the the tub.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna come into the body for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but I am super happy how that packaged, and we built it basically what two inches above what will be bump.

SPEAKER_04

Probably, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Basically, the the oil pan.

SPEAKER_04

If I ever get it to that situation again, you got broken shots. I've got a lot of broken parts. That when we set it up with the I've jumped it off something huge.

SPEAKER_03

The oil pan, you've monitor trucked it. Yeah. Because basically we set it up with the oil pan sitting on the truss.

SPEAKER_04

We welded we welded the truss to the frame once we got it centered. Right. And then we built everything. And then we built everything so that way it'd stay centered because it kept fighting us. The problem is with the frame table, it's not long enough for the wheelbase. And then the way we had the axles setting on those hoops was right where we needed to put the lower brackets.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, I'm welding this thing to the frame.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. So yeah, it's it'll never ever again be that low. No. Ever.

SPEAKER_03

But when we put the shock towers in, we'll set those so I always like to give that your full bump is still you have one inch of shock.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Just because if you know one or two inches, because I know I'm gonna do it.

SPEAKER_03

Five, six years down the road, that that bump stop is you know rotted out, or if you go to air bumps and it's low on pressure for some reason, it'll still stop before you bottom out that shock and ruin a shock. Yeah, a coil over, not a shock, a coil over. Um, and I told you today, and I sent it to you know, Ricky and Dave and Dustin and shared it to them. I'm like, I'm really happy with this turned out. But I said, Yes, I'm copying it for the scout. I am gonna get rid of the track bar on the scout and put that link in there.

SPEAKER_04

Shout out Dave for the headers because I don't think it would have worked with manifolds.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I have to I I held up the headers I had on the original scout build, and they're the same exact headers, same they come down. Same cross pipe, like I just gotta see if my no I think the Novak conversion motor mounts, if I can clear those headers or if I'll have to modify the mounts a little bit. No, I mean I I thought we were gonna have to clear the frame because usually with the way that frame book comes in by along the motor, like if there's probably what half an inch between.

SPEAKER_04

Needs quarter to half. So I mean all the Patreons that are in the chat already have seen they've seen it. Seen it. So I've I shared some pictures there. I I am super excited with that. If you want to be in that chat, join the Patreon, ask to be in the chat. Right. If you don't if you get offended easily, do not get into the chat. Right. That's all I have to do.

SPEAKER_03

If you don't like being being nicknamed, don't get in the chat. If you want to just chuckle at it and let it roll, let it roll.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, other than that, that's kind of all my burning lately.

SPEAKER_03

The the chat is now cheaper than a gallon of easel.

SPEAKER_04

True that. The Patreon. The chat and the Patreon.

SPEAKER_03

The Patreon is and if you do a you know, I just think about this. What if we say screw the two-tier level and just put everybody in the next couple drawing in a in a drawing? For at least one. Let's let all our patrons have a chance to win. I'm cool with that. So and our uh media gal, she was kicking around some ideas for the for Whites Warriors and some some swag type stuff. And I'm like, well, whatever the pricing is for that, let's think about it for so we might we got some cool ideas. I guess she's got some cool ideas that I'm gonna borrow from what she wants to do for Whites Warriors that maybe we'll do some of them too. Some some unique I don't know of any other podcasts that are doing it kind of giveaway stuff. And depending how the prices come back, I'm thinking maybe just we might send every Patreon one. So make sure that your Patreon information has your address.

SPEAKER_04

That'd be helpful.

SPEAKER_03

And if you're not a Patreon, you're not cool enough. You should be.

SPEAKER_04

We need to go through the Patreon list and and fulfill all of our obligations again.

SPEAKER_03

The I I am waiting for addresses. Oh yeah. And you need to tell me who we do and don't have addresses from.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't check off if we had an address or not. I don't I checked so we had a size. Okay. But we're way behind on that again. And we we switched our programming or our way of doing it to make it easier on us so we get stuff out faster. And we're done. And we failed. We suck. I mean, I think everybody is aware of the situation.

SPEAKER_03

So Izzy was at some point you'll get it. Izzy was home this weekend because River was had to go to the vet, and I said, Well, just come home. We'll take care of them so you can still she wanted to go boat yesterday. And um, I am working on a possible boat transaction for her. So we'll see. I think I can get it right. I think I might be able to get it bought right, and it's I will not do an outboard. This is at least an I.O. And it's got a 305 in it. But uh we'll talk about that if it shows up. Um, but anyways, so she was home and she was like out here, I think it was Friday night, before you guys got over here. Maybe it was after, I don't remember, but she was like, So what's what's the plan? What you know, what's next? And I knew she was fishing for what what am I gonna have to be bugging you about? Keep working, dad, you know, because her and a her and annie both are like, go to the shop, go get something done. I'm like, I like hanging out with you on here. You're getting sucked into the couch, get out there, work on something. But so I said, Well, get Alice done. I said, I want at least front or rear of court suspension done before by Monday night, Memorial Day night. I said, Abe's going on the lift. I want to get the bench seat in it, I want to get the AC in it, and move I gotta move the battery box to do the AC and put the doors back on it. They didn't get painted yet. Uh, I think we're gonna he he had some stuff going on with family life and and some unfortunate incidents. I I just told him, I said, hey, you don't have time right now. I don't want you to stress on trying to do them right now. You can paint them over the winter.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, and I want my truck back together.

SPEAKER_03

And I want my truck back together to drive. So uh I brought the the doors back home, so I could throw them back on and uh drill and tap a couple uh ones I broke off. But anyways, uh let's get that done, and then I need to get the scout, get tetanus on the lift. You run out yet? Okay, get tetanus on the lift, uh pull the heads off. Shout out to uh our good buddy Dave. He had a set of LS heads, he said, Hey, come get them. I guess we haven't talked about that. We haven't talked about the whole Dave truck situation. That's true. We should we'll cover that. So a week ago this past Friday, well a week and a half ago. Did we talk about it the next Friday? No, we haven't. That all happened the same week we skipped. Same week we skipped. So uh if you go back two weeks, in that week time period, finally figured out the scout. Uh we had a couple loose bolts. He's never gonna live down, he's never gonna live it down. Uh but I can't I I can give him shit for it, but I can't like be hard on him for it because he came over, Caleb came over and helped me do something that I didn't know. I wasn't I I knew the basics of it, but I'd never done an LS camp. Tell me a small box Chevy one. Uh no problem. But an LS one, I knew there were some differences there because there's you know torque deal bolts now and all that bullshit.

SPEAKER_04

And he has all the tools for this, and he had tools for it, which I gotta borrow again.

SPEAKER_03

Um foreshadowing.

SPEAKER_04

But torque angles, yes, torque angle tool.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I don't know if I have to angle them now that I we'll get into it. Oh, yeah, you switched over. So maybe not uh we got it fired up, figured out, finally got it to where it would run right, but it smokes terrible. Upside to no to the smoke issue is I sent you guys a picture the next morning. Guy was out here helping me get it straightened out. We got it running, but it just smoking terrible. Sent you a picture the next morning, and you're like, Whoa, it smokes that much. I'm like, yeah, that was the next morning. Yeah, that so we know the shop is sealed very well. So heat and air will not transfer quickly, not transfer quickly. That's good. Uh we I I think it's valve guides, I don't think it's the seals, even though I did buy cheap seals because I cheaped out. I'd already spent a bunch of money on rockers, lifters, or not rockers, I'm sorry, lifters, head gaskets, head bolts, all oil pump, all that. Oh, while I'm in here, bullshit.

SPEAKER_04

All the smart stuff to change, obviously, while you're in it.

SPEAKER_03

Because I wanted it reliable, because I mean it within the next 16 months, we're going to Moab. So um I wanted to make sure it's I want it reliable now so that it throw it on the trailer, go wheeling, come home, park it unless you break something.

SPEAKER_04

Are you gonna change the suspension on yours before we test out to see if it works or not?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know yet. I haven't decided.

SPEAKER_04

I Iours works great now. If that doesn't, I'll just I'm like 4th of July weekend. Maybe I'll really suck to have to switch them again.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe 4th of July weekend, I'll just take mine all apart and start fixing it or changing it before. I'm weekend. Yeah. Me too. No, I don't know. I don't know. Right now, I need to just get so the motor smokes. Terrible. I think it's the valve guides, not the valve seals. So I was talking to my my trusted what do you want to call it? My trusted advisors, the guys that I go to when I said, Hey, I got it. This question, you guys know more than I do. Or you've seen other angles of it than I do. I need a different perspective in it. And Dave's like, I've got a set of heads, come get them. So I'm like, okay, well, I've I've got your axles sitting here that Court bought for you. So I need to get those down there. And um, other items that we're gonna buy them for him. I just picked them up. No, you picked them up for him, you're right. Uh, there were other products that I had to deliver that we can't talk about.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

That'll that leaves them open. Come to the Patreon and you can hear what we talk about.

SPEAKER_04

We'll tell you what you got.

SPEAKER_03

We tell we'll tell you what I transported.

SPEAKER_04

So there's hats.

SPEAKER_03

Fine, let it out of the bag. You got him some new coonrad hats.

SPEAKER_04

I did. I have a connection. But he got the last green hat in existence.

SPEAKER_03

No shit.

SPEAKER_04

She's like, I called and asked her for it. She's like, that was a hat we did as a special run.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think we have does he know that I told him that. Okay. And I'm because he didn't say that a long time ago.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So he might not remember that. But Dave, that is the last green hat in existence. She went searching for it. Because I'm like, Oh, my buddy, he'd really want to sent her a picture. Do you have any more of these hats? My buddy would like one. I'll buy it. She's like, Oh, he can have it. She goes, but I don't think we have any more of those left.

SPEAKER_03

See, I've been telling him he should just be talking to them and come work for him and move over here.

SPEAKER_04

There's a house or so right down the street.

SPEAKER_03

Right, you can live right down the road from court.

SPEAKER_04

I'll let him park his trailer. I'm a trailer parking.

SPEAKER_03

Trailers.

SPEAKER_04

One of them's gonna be ours.

SPEAKER_03

Well, he's got three. Oh, damn.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway, so yeah, he's got the last green old school Coonrod patch hat. And it's that's awesome.

SPEAKER_03

So he shouldn't give him that one. So we uh so I'm like, all right. I still need to say Dave's got heads. Because she's like, because I went in the the the night we figured out was because I let it sit outside idle for like an hour. Everything's working perfectly. The fans kick on, it stays at 180, 185. But you rev it up, blue smoke everywhere. Shut it off, you gotta give it a you got it. It's it's a LS, and you have to give it a little throttle to so it'll clear out the freaking oil in the cylinders. So I'm like, I go inside and she's like, what's wrong? Motors gotta come back apart and scout. Why? I said, I didn't do valve guides in it. Probably should have. It smokes. It smoked before, it smokes really bad now, but not real. It was it wasn't super bad. The main reason I took it apart and put cam and lifters and all that in it was I had a number seven lifter in it.

SPEAKER_04

That was that's gone.

SPEAKER_03

That's gone.

SPEAKER_06

Run's great. On the bright side, we wouldn't have to worry about mosquitoes in the in the woods. This is true.

SPEAKER_03

But as Annie pointed out, yeah, as Annie pointed out, you're representing Kaputoff Road, heat-treated garage, you want to expand it, maybe some, you know, maybe eventually have your own shop. You can have a rig that's smoking like that. No, and there's you know, that first Jeeps on the mountain when I did all that that sweet line that nobody else did, you couldn't see out of it because there was smoke. So, anyways, so I'm like, hey, I got your so I told Annie, I said, Dave's got a set of heads, I just gotta figure out when to go down there. She's like, Makes most sense to just leave right after work Friday, let's go get them. Like, alright. So it was Thursday night. Guy and I were working on this car. This is two Thursdays ago, and I was like, hey, before we get finished up, I said, I need help load them axles. So I grabbed the axles from beside the shed, and they were already on a pallet, so I ratcheted strapped them to the pallet so I could grab them long ways, and I picked them up, and Guy was busy, so I just it was one of those, I'm not gonna bug him. He's trying to get that flex done. I set the axles in the back of the truck, back of my Duramax, and I had some parts for Ricky because Ricky's like, hey, if you're coming to days, I'll meet you over there, I'll get the knuckles he needed. Like, great, we'll get all the stuff. It's getting out of my shop, get it to them, and I go to shut my tailgate, and I'm like, I need two more inches, and the tailgate will shut. And like the tailgate would shut and the tunnel cover would roll closed. So I'm like, come around the back, and by this time, you know, the tailgate's down. I can't, I don't have a lot of reach with the forks on the skid loader, so I'm like, I just gotta slide it forward two inches. So I'm trying to slide it forward, trying to slide it forward. Instead of just moving the two inches I needed, all of a sudden it moved six inches. And when it moved six inches, and the weight of a SR210 skid loader, a case skid loader, and a front and rear one ton axles, F-250, you know, super duty 60s or 60 and whatever, but all that weight goes forward, it bends the front of the box. I have a headache rack on the truck because there's a lot of them like, well, did your headache rack help? I'm like, no, it's bolted. It's not bolted in the center. Yeah, it's not bolted in the center. So the box pushed forward enough that it flexed to the back of the cab, and I hear shattered the back window.

SPEAKER_04

About that time Gyer window left the chat.

SPEAKER_03

I get out, I'm like, I'm saying a few words, and it's like midnight, you know, so it's quiet out. And Gyar's like, what's going on? I'm like, I just shattered the back window of my truck, he goes, You're kidding. I'm like, nope, I'm not. So we pull nose the truck in, pull the headache rack off, pull the tonneau cover, or pull the tonneau cover off, pull the headache rack off, vacuum all the glass up, take a big old 50-gallon hefty but black hefty bag, split it so it goes a long ways, and we make a uh tinted window, all tinted, 100% tint window.

SPEAKER_04

Or no, it'd be zero percent tint.

SPEAKER_03

Uh and drove all the way. That was Thursday night, Friday go to work, leave work, axles are in the back, go down on past Peoria to Dave's house, talk to those, talk to Dave and Ricky and Kelly for I don't know, hour or so. Any and I stood, you know, we stood around talking and um he's got June bugs down there the size of Huey helicopters. They're buzz buzzing us. Uh, saw the storm damage. Uh he's got some rough storm damage. I didn't see the house, but like the trees that you can tell. Oh, that's this was rough. Um Dustin I will report the shop, still needs swept, it needs organized. Uh, you could kind of walk for parts out of it now, though. Yeah, there's there's a few parts out of it. Yeah, yeah. Like, so I grab, I got get my heads, and he's like, Oh, I got this for court. Oh, I got this for Court. I brought stuff home for Court that Court didn't know he was getting. I didn't know I was getting you know, uh and Dave's like, I just want it off the shelves, get it out of here. So then so shout out to Dave for for helping both of us out with getting the crawlers fixed, and uh drove home. That was the longest. It's about a three and a half hour drive from Dave's to my to our house. But driving home, I on the way down, I started, I could not just stay awake. So Andy drove down, got to Dave's. I'm like, I'll drive back. And I was like, I'm gonna at least get back to Iowa. I made it 45 minutes east of Moline, and I'm like, I can't do it anymore. I'm done, I'm done. And we ended up stopping twice and just taking a nap trying to get home. We didn't get home until two in the morning. But part of it was I think the hefty bag in duct tape was not fully sealing. Uh I didn't smell diesel. I didn't smell diesel exhaust, but I was getting tired like I was getting some CO poisoning. So uh you know, when we stopped to to to rest, we cracked the windows and stuff. But we uh we got back, got that all taken care of, and so I gotta fix the scout, the scout's gotta come apart. And I didn't put the winch or nothing back on it yet.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the winch has to go back on.

SPEAKER_03

It'll be ready for July. Before then, I'm not making any promises. Because two or three nights, the scout gonna be ready to go. We gotta get yours further along first. But I do I do want Abe back together because I want to drive him, and that's getting AC, all that stuff we already talked about. And Cars and Coffee is Saturday, Saturday's Cars of Coffee, HDG Takeover. No, we're right at an hour. Let's uh why don't you run through our shoutouts of upcoming events?

SPEAKER_04

So, in order, Saturday's uh HDG takeover for Cars of Coffee at the Manchester Whitewater Park from 8 to 11. So we'll be down there with the normal rigs. Come check it out, hang out. Uh, there hopefully is gonna be eight. Might be an extra extra special rig there. Yep, so come check that out. Then we have the next one will be June 13th. Yes, is the why it's worth a golf outing. We have people all over the country coming. There's one or two teams still available. I believe two teams open and a few whole sponsors, three whole sponsors and a couple other things that are available. If you are interested in that, you can jump in and then nine holes. Yep, nine holes.

SPEAKER_03

All fun. Uh, a cannon at one hole.

SPEAKER_04

Is that official?

SPEAKER_03

It is official booked.

SPEAKER_04

There's a canon.

SPEAKER_03

Uh our president and fearless leader, she made an executive decision and said, We're doing it. I see a cannon. She's like, I kind of made it. I said, We're we gotcha. We all want it. We're not even golfing, and I want to shoot it.

SPEAKER_04

No, yes. Uh, there's gonna be a ball drop.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, kind of when it's that we didn't there is I think we've only sold less than a dozen balls so far. But I think that's gonna be more of a day of the ball.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't know even really selling them yet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they're they're you could pre- you the it's out there.

SPEAKER_04

Is it on the website?

SPEAKER_03

I believe so, yes. Okay, I think everything's on the website or the Facebook page.

SPEAKER_04

I have not seen them about the ball drop, but I haven't looked very close.

SPEAKER_03

I'm 90% sure there will not, the fellows cart will not make it. Probably not, unless we take it as is, which might be fun.

SPEAKER_04

Might get us in trouble.

SPEAKER_03

We didn't say I didn't say we'd drive on the golf course. We might just park it up front. Park it up front.

SPEAKER_04

That probably would be fine.

SPEAKER_03

Take donations to fix it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or a raffle it. Somebody could take it home with them.

SPEAKER_04

And then August is the next uh Wyatt's Warriors event. Yes. So that is. We talked about that, I think, on here already once, didn't we?

SPEAKER_03

I think we we've alluded to it.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know if that everything was solid on that date. So let me pull it up to make sure I have the right information because I believe that has while you're doing that.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna shout out we have some awesome listeners that have become very good friends that are coming to the Whites Warriors Golf event. Uh Julian and Zach from On the Rocks are coming up from West Virginia. Um, as Zach puts it, he can't wait to have our sleepover because he they're staying here.

SPEAKER_04

Staying here.

SPEAKER_03

Andrew Andrew said, uh, they're staying with us, but they don't need to drive through town and get harassed. Because, you know, they could.

SPEAKER_04

I found it, so whenever.

SPEAKER_03

And then um Ricky and Kelly are coming from Indiana. And Mark Hathaway from Indiana's coming. And I actually think the four Ricky, Mark, Julian, and Zach are golfing.

SPEAKER_04

That'll be interesting.

SPEAKER_03

I can't wait to see the I told him I said, Don't you worry about bringing clubs. I got some beater clubs you can use.

SPEAKER_04

And the Texas Dan's coming from Texas Dan's coming out. We gotta figure out who's got the farthest travel to it.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, we'll have to because we'll have to come up with something.

SPEAKER_04

At least a shout-out.

SPEAKER_03

But for the I don't know who's playing with Texas Dan yet. I know art is, I think.

SPEAKER_04

Are the Ming brothers not?

SPEAKER_03

The Ming Brothers aren't making it.

SPEAKER_06

He had said something about the he found a couple people to play.

SPEAKER_03

So um then I just found out this weekend we have some friends of my parents from Ohio coming. And if we really want to split hairs, I know who would win the furthest travel. I mean, if she's we could my cousin Mark is trying to put together a team with him, his wife, Maria.

SPEAKER_04

She's from doesn't matter where she's from, it's where she lives. Okay, fine. She will not win. All right, fine. She's never played golf. But Mark was supposed to be on with the. She would have won. Well, they technically can't count that because she doesn't live there.

SPEAKER_03

No, not full-time, anyways. Okay, fine. Sorry, she can't win. All right. I want to have her and Mark on it. I I've already asked Mark to be on, but I think have Maria on be fun because she she's from Brazil, from Rio de Janeiro, or outside of it. Uh, they own waterfront property on the Amazon. That they're like, yeah, we you know, anybody can go down and use it just some faster shipping? No, not that Amazon.

SPEAKER_04

Oh the real jungle. Oh, the real one. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03

And the what is that faster shipping would be sweet. The Nile. Is that the Nile that goes through the Amazon? Whatever. So, anyways, like he's like, Yeah, it's like a six-hour boat ride. Six-hour boat ride or something to get there. So I'm like, that might be fun sometime.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, there's large nope ropes there. Oh, they're very large note ropes there. They have some ass on the nope ropes.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that or can I go armed? But at any rate, um, you can't go swimming either. The they got them little fish with all them sharp teeth, yeah. But so they're gonna they're putting together a team with either some other family or JB3 and mom might have to golf. They they're trying every way possible to not have to golf. Okay, so but at any rate, I have bounce that information. So back.

SPEAKER_04

To the Rutz Rocks Rutz Resilience Wheeling Together for Mental Health is August 15th, 2026 at 8 a.m. And that is located at Mayobi, make it or break it in Hamilton, Iowa. Yes. Uh the fellas will be there camping.

SPEAKER_03

Saturday night we'll be camping.

SPEAKER_04

Are you going to have the the cargo van or the Astro van trailer ready by the time?

SPEAKER_03

I doubt I'll have the trailer ready. I don't think we'll have the trailer. Trailer will probably be next year. That is low priority right now. Unless we just put a tow bar on it.

SPEAKER_04

I was going to give you some shit about it.

SPEAKER_03

But the Astro van will probably be there.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, that's we're going to be there.

SPEAKER_03

The Flex and Gyre will not be there. He will be on his mission trip.

SPEAKER_04

They're going to be gone. The scout will be there.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. El Moco will be there. Maybe we'll be there. Elmoco will be there. No, because Elmoco will, well, unless you break it.

SPEAKER_04

I'm going to go wheeling with it first. So it might get broken.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Elmoca will be there. I'm hoping Otis might be there.

SPEAKER_04

That'd be cool.

SPEAKER_03

And several other eggs I'm hoping are going to be there. I think it's going to be a good time. It's the first annual. We're going to do this every year. We're going to. And I would like to always do it at Myobi just because they're really awesome to work with and and they really support. They have some personal reasons to help support you know mental health awareness and that. And we've got some good friends down that way. That I consider them good friends, even though I you know I don't see them all the time, but we talk all the time. And there could be who knows what'll happen in the future. So I think it's gonna be a good time. It's not it's got everything, it's as crazy as you want it to be. So stock your stock Toyota Forerunner, your your stock Tacoma, Wrangler. Heck, even a Subaru could probably go on part of it. We're we'll probably make fun of you, but it can go. So yeah, I'd like I like I'm excited for the event. And the main everything happened, the main stuff happens on on Saturday. You can keep camp Saturday night, and you would you do have the opportunity to wheel on Sunday too. So I don't know how much wheeling we'll get to do on Saturday because we got a lot of but it might be a lot of the rigs are parked up by the check-in. We're talking to people, just kind of hang out out there, maybe take a lap once in a while.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we won't be doing probably like golf out any more of a we'll be there talking to people, hanging out. I mean, we're famous.

SPEAKER_03

We gotta have our markers ready and Jesus.

SPEAKER_04

Famous. That's you've signed more autographs than I have.

SPEAKER_03

They love you more than me.

SPEAKER_04

So I got, yeah. I mean, I've signed a few.

SPEAKER_03

Signing some dude's butt. Another dude's collarbone. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Anyways, whatever you're into.

SPEAKER_03

But so Sunday, I mean, we won't be able to be on there late Sunday, but Sunday morning, I'd I definitely want to I'm gonna take a couple laps, go out and hit some of the harder spots, and I'm gonna contact a couple guys I know down there that know the perk row and be like, hey, where's the stuff that's gonna challenge our stuff? Yeah, so but I know I know a few of our good favorite listeners are are coming. So let's wrap this one up. I'm ready to you know hit the dock. Um couple last minute shout-outs, you know, crawler off-road if you need crawler, you know, it's that time of year. Get some crawler gear. And arch bearded custom if you need some hats.

SPEAKER_04

Baseball, he's got he's got a new laser.

SPEAKER_06

I was really attempted. Yeah, he's got a new laser. And then I forgot about it. Got got sid tracked.

SPEAKER_04

I bet if you meant some messages.

SPEAKER_03

So definitely check those out. Of course, social butterfly media if you got some media needs.

SPEAKER_04

10% off at crawler with HGG 10.

SPEAKER_03

HGG 10, 10% off crawler. Um, if you call me at the shop, HGG20, I charge Dustin 20% um on his next purchase and give you a pretty good price on your stuff. Uh, we've got a couple buddies we've talked about. Rico's Garage, YouTube channel. Check it out. He's got some good stuff, some funny stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Um, he did a good job in that Wyatt's video.

SPEAKER_03

He did an awesome job on that why it's video. Um, and we have a few other people that have done videos that are coming. Dustin did an awesome job too. Um our buddy Adam's done one. Adam's got is firing back up his YouTube channel.

SPEAKER_04

That's 319 or 349 Ridge Rider. Something like that. Or something like that.

SPEAKER_03

So I'd have to look at we'll have to we'll throw some links up or something, but we're not smart enough to put links up.

SPEAKER_04

We'll talk about them about it.

SPEAKER_03

We'll the smoke we'll ask the social media girl to do it. But uh no, but so he's starting his. Of course, we we always talk about our friends over at on the Rock Soft Road. Look them up. Um, it's Memorial Day.

SPEAKER_04

304 Ridge Riding.

SPEAKER_03

304 Ridge Riding. That's back from his days of a side-by-side sand flea. So but I can't say that. I I have fun at side-by-sides too. They're they're fun too, but I just can't afford them. Anyways, um AOT is now open. Appalachian Off-Road Trails.

SPEAKER_04

Is it open?

SPEAKER_03

They are open quote quotations. Okay. They had their kickoff event, and I think some of the trails are open, and it's just gonna keep growing from there. So um if you're looking for somewhere to go recreate, go down that way. Uh, you want you know, once more information, reach out. We'll put you in touch with the right people. Anything else I'm missing? Our channel, Heatre to Garage on YouTube. We've been slow. You think listeners, you think we've we've been lacking for you.

SPEAKER_04

You uh we yeah, if there's any only YouTube fans, they're strongly disappointed in us.

SPEAKER_03

I still should I still want to go back and figure out a way that I could take some of our past episodes. Like, if you have a favorite episode that you love, yes, number six, nailed it, we'll be there. But I'd like to get some of those and convert them in to just be it's basically gonna be audio only on YouTube, but get them out there and we'll put them on the just to have some get some content out there. But we are videoing, we are putting things together, we're just super busy right now to try to get editing done.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's more important to get projects done right now than it is for this.

SPEAKER_03

We want to get projects done so we can go have some fun this summer, right?

SPEAKER_04

Because it's gonna be another summer that we're gonna have a fun summer, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We're not talking about just rock crawlers and hot rods and rat rods and vans. We're talking we got two wives that want kitchens, right? One's been waiting like a millennia or something for it.

SPEAKER_04

So coming up on three years.

SPEAKER_03

I did, I did tell both, I did tell Kelly and both yesterday that I said, I can assure you that your kitchens are on Chad's list and that towards the top, because I overheard him talking to our law enforcement from that stopped by there talking about bathrooms and cabinets and that. And Chad's like, Well, school's done, I got a week of school left, and then I got Kelly's cabinets and Andrew's cabinets that I gotta get going on after I get my brother's stuff done. Yeah. So dude. The dude has shown up. I do you want to say something quick before we kick we close out the main? Or do you want them to come to the Patreon to find out how your burning's been? And I don't I don't mean that, you know, that that burning issue you have when you pee.

SPEAKER_01

That's actually uh if you come to my house and you try and get on my Wi-Fi, that's the name of the Wi-Fi. It burns when I pee. That's awesome. So all right, we're gonna keep the most frustrating fucking job I've done in a long time.

SPEAKER_03

Come over to Patreon. You know, I heard that people don't like us shouting out our Patreons. So I mean they haven't said they don't like ours being shut out, but our friends' Patreon, they don't like it being they're like, oh, you shot it out too much. So I'm gonna shout it out all the time.

SPEAKER_04

That's how we roll. Tell us you don't like something, we'll do it more.

SPEAKER_03

We'll do it more. You don't like ducks, Court's gonna throw ducks at you.

SPEAKER_04

So speaking of Jeep things, uh Dustin just shared a picture in our text group, and I'm like, sweet, is that an angry girl? Looks badass. Oh, I gotta go look at this. But yeah. Jeep things. He hasn't responded though.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's funny. I'll respond later. All right, we're gonna sign off.

SPEAKER_06

If you want to hear about Geyer's project, you gotta go to the Patreon.

SPEAKER_03

Come on over to the Patreon because I have turned hard to port and we're crashing into the dock. We love y'all. We'll see you next week.

SPEAKER_06

Peace. Goodbye. His bro itches.

SPEAKER_00

My bro itches.

SPEAKER_03

His man movies itch.

SPEAKER_00

Grinders right at that level.

SPEAKER_03

Right at that level for grinding, huh? You did a lot of grinding.

SPEAKER_00

You need an apron.

SPEAKER_01

So I have two.

SPEAKER_03

Apron do his woman's work? Huh? Apron to do his women's work.

SPEAKER_00

I wear it to do I wear it to do uh mechanics work. It even says mechanics on it.
