Someone comes in and loosens up this fucking nut. Does what with your nut? Uh definitely not busted. Nobody's doing that shit.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Kick dines like fires.
SPEAKER_04Timing is everything.
SPEAKER_03Great timing. That's the title.
SPEAKER_00Timing was everything. Welcome to Hatry the Garage, where friends come together to share their love of life, creativity, and everything in between. Season three, episode 47.
SPEAKER_01Technically, should this not be the start of season four since we start? Didn't we start like the beginning of May?
SPEAKER_00Isn't there 52 weeks in a year?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but we don't record every week. We missed some weeks in there.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I don't remember what our official start date was.
SPEAKER_01So I thought it was like the beginning of March. Technically, I think the last couple episodes should have been season four.
SPEAKER_00Oh well.
SPEAKER_03Maybe we just make it April 1st.
SPEAKER_00We went to 52 last time.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, we didn't we didn't go off a calendar date. We went off two weeks. Which that's not really.
SPEAKER_00I mean so we can change it however we want.
SPEAKER_03It's our show, we want to. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01If they don't like it, well they can go listen to someone else. Cancelled. Canceled.
SPEAKER_00Friends that come together, even the weird ones that think diff fluid smells good.
SPEAKER_01I like it. Fucking seriously. I've always loved to smell diff fluid. You got something, you're fucking nuts in the head. No, you like ducks on your Jeep.
SPEAKER_00How many did we find today? 22. And there's at least one more that I know of you haven't found yet.
SPEAKER_03I'll keep looking. So and I did find like 97 cents. So all plus the two quarters of like I'm over a buck.
SPEAKER_01So technically, did you get paid to take it then? Kinda, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, he hasn't got the shipping bill yet.
SPEAKER_01He hasn't got the freight bill yet. I haven't got the freight bill yet, no. So that transfer case might get expensive.
SPEAKER_03Well, the transfer case might get cheap, you mean?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That uh have we had any reactions yet? Uh just one. Just one.
SPEAKER_03And he was we posted a YouTube short today. Just uh, you know, oops, plans changed.
SPEAKER_04So being as this is Easter weekend, are all those ducks Easter eggs?
SPEAKER_00Kind of. Yeah, pretty much. So I mean it is Easter weekend. We are recording on a Saturday night.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00So before we get any any further into course burning, and we do have actually maybe we'll leave I don't know if we'll put the burning on the main or not, but we do have let's do burning on the Patreon. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Because we have a didn't you say we had a listener question?
SPEAKER_00Yes. So but before we do that, business. We have business to attend to. First off, Court, who are the people that help make this possible? And you have an extra one you have to talk about this week. You know nothing about.
SPEAKER_03I know nothing about.
SPEAKER_00Okay, we'll we'll start that next week. You talk you talk, I gotta shut a sweatshirt.
SPEAKER_03Shed a sweatshirt. So, sponsors, the one that started this whole shenanigans, social butterfly media. So if you need help with your social media page, uh taking care of running those ads, give Andy a call, contact social butterfly media, or message the fellas, and she will see it before we do. That is correct. We also have bearded customs. If you need anything laser engraved, um anything but precious metals, get a whole art, he can help you out with that. Hats. I need to get a new hat. This hat smells bad. I've I've scrubbed mine.
SPEAKER_01Is it the hat or is it you?
SPEAKER_03I think it's the hat. I mean, it might be a combo.
SPEAKER_01It was a fair question. For sure. Have you tried throwing it in the dishwasher? I have not.
SPEAKER_00I never do the dishwasher. I take them the shower with me with the Don dish soap and scrub brush.
SPEAKER_01I throw it away and get a new one. I I usually uh I haven't done the dishwasher trick for a long time. Usually I'm just I just do it in the sink, kitchen sink with some Dawn dish soap, or or if it's really nasty, I use some Joe's.
SPEAKER_04See if your uh label comes off, 3M Super 77 works pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Puts it right back on. Yep. I have not had any trouble with uh the patch coming off except for the first one. Last but not least for this week, crawler off road if you need any recovery gear. I thought we were gonna need some today, uh, but he got it out without it. Um talk about that at burning and HTG 10 at checkout, save yourself 10%. You might have a new daddy. I might have I might. My two dads. My two daddies.
SPEAKER_00Uh well, there could be there could be two new ones.
SPEAKER_03Two two new daddies. So again, we'll talk about it at burning at Patreon. Okay.
SPEAKER_00So check out a movie about that. My two dads?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, something like that.
SPEAKER_00Was it a TV show?
SPEAKER_03I think when we were younger.
SPEAKER_00Beginning of new quarter.
SPEAKER_03So let's first do monthly winner for March. Okay. Because we are due a monthly winner for March, and then a quarterly winner for Q1.
SPEAKER_00Now, can can if they win them monthly, can they also win the Q1?
SPEAKER_01I love this conversation we have every single quarter. Nobody can remember.
SPEAKER_03Only win one time a year, regardless of if you did quarterly or monthly. I think so we decided last time.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I'm just But do we do a quarterly and yes, yes.
SPEAKER_03We switched that for this year. We decided we're gonna do the four quarters plus the 12 months.
SPEAKER_04We kind of decided that towards the end of the yeah, I was thinking we decided last time we could you could only win a monthly once.
SPEAKER_00But you're eligible for the quarterly once.
SPEAKER_04Eligible for the quarterly ones.
SPEAKER_00Is that what it was? So you could win both at the same time. Technically. Technically.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I'm I'm good with that. Write that down. I'm gonna put that in the notes.
SPEAKER_04I I think that's what we decided last time.
SPEAKER_00Only one, can only win once. Court's like our navigator. If I'm the captain, he's like the navigator. He keeps us on course one monthly.
SPEAKER_03But can also win a quarterly.
SPEAKER_00And we do have a I think we have a few shirts I have to get out yet, but I believe we have a few, yeah. I think everybody's contacted me or us.
SPEAKER_04So I I've got something in the trunk we can add to that too.
SPEAKER_00Get some junk in the trunk. Yeah. All right. All right, I added. Is this to the quarterly or to the monthly?
SPEAKER_04Um probably quarterly. Probably quarterly.
SPEAKER_00Quarterly, okay. Court's gonna send him some ducks.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Plantea, then.
SPEAKER_00Or he's gonna sh save them to share with his new friends.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna pull up to the mall and just fucking hand out the phone.
SPEAKER_01Blasting white girl music going, what's up? You should just keep like some adhesive so that you can really stick those fuckers on there so they never come up.
SPEAKER_03We came up with an idea today of what we're gonna do for heat your garage. We won't talk about it. We're not gonna talk about it here.
SPEAKER_00We have our own idea. We have we have Heat Your Garage is gonna start its own thing, its own fad. It's gonna be cooler than ducks. Hershey kisses. Nope. So it's like kissing an asshole. There's that pop again.
SPEAKER_04I heard something.
SPEAKER_00So all right. So quarterly first or monthly first? Monthly first. Monthly first. Do we need a shuffle?
SPEAKER_03Uh shuffle, yes.
SPEAKER_00One shuffle?
SPEAKER_03Two shuffles. Two shuffles. Two shuffles. Roll that beautiful bean footage.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, I'm so fucking miserable. I fucking hate myself.
SPEAKER_03Eat too much foods. Way too much.
SPEAKER_00There he is.
SPEAKER_03He's the luckiest son of a bitch.
SPEAKER_00Isn't he? I mean, he gets to road trip with us, camp with us, and now he's a monthly winner. Cody Tranl.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_01Did he win the quarterly last year? Like in January. I think he won recently.
SPEAKER_00Quarterly the first year.
SPEAKER_03He hasn't won anything since I started recording it in Q3 of 2025.
SPEAKER_00He won a quarterly way, way back because he got some uh he got we we bought him something from Complete Off-Road.
SPEAKER_03That seems like a good present. Oh, it was a good prize, I should say.
SPEAKER_00It was a Super Duty 60.
SPEAKER_03Can't beat that. So that's a hell of a prize. That's when we were spending all the money on prizes. We must have had a really good discount on that. We did. All right. Quarterly drawing. Q1. All right.
SPEAKER_00How many times shovel?
SPEAKER_03I mean, it's the first quarter, so once. One shovel. And we're two months behind. No, we're right at time. We're out of time. We're good. I asked you last week. Spin it. Spin it. Quarterly winner. He just signed up.
SPEAKER_00He just signed up. Now he wins a quarterly.
SPEAKER_03That's a BS. That's bullshit. Alright, Jesse Camp. Contact us. Get one of those beautiful plus something that's special.
SPEAKER_00Something from Chad's trunk. Some junk from Chad's trunk.
SPEAKER_01He should be excited. It could literally just be junk in his trunk.
SPEAKER_00Very possible. Which vehicle art do you have?
SPEAKER_04The Prius.
SPEAKER_00Oh. He's got a you're getting a dead battery. A dead battery.
SPEAKER_03Yes, a dead EV cell, yeah. A dead EV cell. Alright. So are we done with that? We're done with that. You got it recorded? It is recorded on the show as well as in the yeah, but we don't go listen to ourselves. So we do not.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Got Annie's uh reaction to the to the Tyrone picture. That's funny. Learn more on Patreon. Alright, so I got a Ricky, I got your messages about what we'll be talking about on Patreon. I'll review those then. I need to go to. We had a a listener reach out to me, and then I said, I can forward it on to him if you need it right away. Or we could use it as a podcast topic. And now I gotta find it. So I thought it was right at the top. I thought it was right at the top here, but no, it's not there. Where to go? Guys, come over something to talk about.
SPEAKER_01I fucking had my you know, like those frickin' the paper, like the the the oval, the big oval-shaped ones with the steep sides on it. I had that fucker piled up two inches high twice. Holy crap. I fucking hate myself.
SPEAKER_03I had frozen pizza for lunch and supper and supper, and I spilt my breakfast on the way here. So I've had pizza today. Twice we had pizza. Yeah, twice. And I'm on my second beer.
SPEAKER_04Chili cheese dogs for lunch and dominoes pizza for supper.
SPEAKER_03Not bad. I love dominoes. Tomorrow we're having hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch and steaks for supper.
SPEAKER_04We made a big batch of chili Thursday night, so this is a good use of leftovers.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you made so you used homemade chili in your chili cheese dog. I did. Yum. I'm really not that hungry right now. I just better need pizza. Pizza with a side of uh transmission fluid. Mmm. Some grit. And some a little bit of brake lube.
SPEAKER_00And whatever you might have gotten out of the thing you were cleaning out. Who knows what you got out of there?
SPEAKER_03I washed my hands.
SPEAKER_00Several times? Several times. And wore gloves. And wore gloves.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, bud. It was icky.
SPEAKER_03I found it. You found it. It's been located.
SPEAKER_00I have located the question. This is from our listener Seth Thacker.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um I don't remember. I remember where Seth's from. Let me, I'll check his. We'll stalk him on Facebook here for a minute.
SPEAKER_01USA.
SPEAKER_00Um, he has no places to show that he's lived. Oh, he's a youngster, though. A younger. He was the born the year we I graduated. Oof, he is a youngin'.
SPEAKER_01Not even 30 yet.
SPEAKER_00No, not quite. He's from um I'm gonna I'm gonna go on a limb and say he's probably from the Illinois area because his check-ins have been in the Illinois area or Michigan. He might he I think he might be from Michigan because it Pontiac Township is where he went to high school.
SPEAKER_03So we don't know where he's from.
SPEAKER_00Seth, we're gonna have to have you on to learn more about you, bud. But by the by his his uh profile picture, though, I would say they're expecting.
SPEAKER_03Did you just call his old lady fat?
SPEAKER_00No, she was glowing.
SPEAKER_05Sounded like it.
SPEAKER_00Six years ago? Six years ago, tomorrow night, because it would your memories always show you the day ahead. Court was watching the 50 do burnouts, and it made him really, really, really want his.
SPEAKER_03How many years ago? Six years, it says. That was the Covert Cruise night.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Because this picture you took.
SPEAKER_03Yep, Covert Cruise night.
SPEAKER_00And that's when I took. Why at me and the cruiser.
SPEAKER_03Truck was overheating, we're still like in high school.
SPEAKER_00Yep, just like in high school, fix the cooling fan at fixing the Chevy at the Pizza Hut. Cooling fan relay at the Pizza Hut parking lot, and then we we're doing some doing some spinning from there. Okay, back on track. So Seth reached out um Tuesday. I'm gonna read the whole conversation here. So you get the whole He says, Hey bud, which one of the fellas does the cabinet building? And would he be up for some most likely dumb questions looking to build a closet organizer for my son's closet? I say, Chatter cart are the guys to talk to. Questions are never dumb if you're seek if you're asking to learn. If you want to send the send them to me, it will give us something to constructive to talk about this week. So then he here's his question. He says, This is what I'm shooting for. Original creator used the cheap bookshelves from Walmart, but I'd like to like it to be something that will last and grow with the kid. More or less looking for suggestions on wood choice to construct the center organizer section. I'd like something that won't end up with a rough end grain once it's built. In my little experience, cheaper plywoods never really gets get to a smooth finish no matter how I sand it. Thanks. And then he sent a picture of said closet. Said closet idea.
SPEAKER_03So step one, finish it because I built the closets for our master bedroom, and they're all our clothes are there, but they're not finished yet. Like the rest of the guys. So don't put your clothes in it before you're done. Oh, we we had to, like we were on our room. So I used for mine, I just used pre-finished three-quarter plywood.
SPEAKER_04Okay. And I just if he wants the white look like that, just get the the pre-finished white melamine like shelfing material. Yep. It's got the finished edge on it and everything.
SPEAKER_03Right. And then you can the fronts, if you have to cut it, you can just either edge band or make something out of poplar or pine and paint it and nail it to the front. That's that's my plan. I'm gonna stain my fronts. I'm gonna build a frame similar to what you do on a face remote cabinet. And I'm just gonna nail it. And I drilled holes so you can adjust the shelves. And I made certain spots. I'm gonna put drawers in mine, but man, I don't know. I can't get myself to build drawers for some reason. I just can't get myself to do it drawing. Drawers, doors.
SPEAKER_01You can't get yourself to build drawers and literally your whole fucking cave kitchen is fucking drawers. That's a problem. It is, it is.
SPEAKER_03It's not gonna be a hard project. I just need to get excited about it.
SPEAKER_04Chad, what do you what suggestions? Say if you uh as far as like attaching the shelves to the wall, if you uh basically, I don't I can't even think of the name of it or offhand, but just screw yourself, nail boards to the perimeter, yeah. Uh basically a cleat all the way on on the outside edges where you can't see it, and it gives you plenty of stability to attach it. That's what I did in all my other closets in the other house. Uh the tricky part is if you want to try to attach your middle section like to the wall, it's a little trickier to do that. You gotta plan that out a little harder. But it's really not all that bad.
SPEAKER_01It's doable. Yeah, if you want it, if you want to attach to the wall, make it at least 16 inches wide. So you're guaranteed to catch at least one stud in there somewhere.
SPEAKER_00So you said you drilled holes. Does that take a special jig or measure it out?
SPEAKER_03Or I've got the cred jig, the cred like cabinet hole jig. Okay, I used.
SPEAKER_01But like if you're just doing a one and done thing, like it sounds like he probably would be. I just go buy some pegboard and use that as a chunk of honestly.
SPEAKER_03A piece of pegboard might cost more than that cred jig. That cred jig on Amazon's like it's 10 bucks. Stupid simple. Yeah, super cheap.
SPEAKER_00No, if you didn't want to.
SPEAKER_03And you're gonna find yourself, I think, once you build a shelf like that, your garage needs shelves or you need a TV standard. I mean, if you get that bug to build things, you're gonna use a tool like a like a that dowel jig.
SPEAKER_00And he said he wants it to grow with the kid. That's what I'd so that's definitely.
SPEAKER_04Having some adjustable shelves, at least in the middle section, is nice.
SPEAKER_03No, if you didn't want to do the drilling, could he do a bracket system or you could probably do brackets, it's gonna be harder to adjust everything, I think.
SPEAKER_04So what I did in the other house, the like the main uprights in the middle section really weren't attached to the wall. I run a couple of screws down into the floor so they wouldn't like shift. That was about it. The shelves like in the corner of the closet were so rigid that and it screwed right to it, nothing was really gonna move. Yeah. I made my center section all removable so I could get up in the attic. That's where my attic access was.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I might have screwed myself in my attic access.
SPEAKER_01The guy that was planning the head would have made the shelf a ladder. Go from the garage that should get up into your attic.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, real strong. The biggest thing like I've noticed, like hanging clothes. Like, make sure you have like upper and lower hanging areas, especially if if you want the kids to grow, because like Caitlin, I didn't put enough bars in her closet. Like girls. She hangs, she hangs more than she folds. Yeah. So you kind of got to figure that too. Like, how much stuff are you gonna hang in the closet versus how much like guy or you fold your t shirts, right? Yeah. And I'm I'm gonna hang my t shirts. I've got 10 feet of shirts in my clock.
SPEAKER_01Shoulder nipples, though.
SPEAKER_03I never had shoulder nipples in any of my shirts. Really? You must wear all of them a lot. I mean, I only wear the ones that I wear all the time. The rest of them might have shoulder nipples.
SPEAKER_01Possibly. But so many fucking t shirts though that like I could fill a whole closet with just t-shirts.
SPEAKER_00I roll my t-shirts.
SPEAKER_01You roll yours.
SPEAKER_00Like the ones for like work and out here and that. And I have some that are like the nicer shirt, nicer t-shirts, or ones that are like special for whatever reason. Those hang.
SPEAKER_04I need to sort through all my t-shirts. My my dresser's getting full again.
SPEAKER_03That's the thing. You didn't have dressers. We don't have dressers at our house. Nobody nobody has a dresser.
SPEAKER_04And honestly, I probably wouldn't need a dresser if I used my closet the way it really could be used. I got a ton of shelving.
SPEAKER_03You just don't use it.
SPEAKER_04Well, it for the most part is just kind of junk that's in there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we don't. So recommendations on what would you you what would you recommend using for a cool rod?
SPEAKER_03If you're gonna do it inside the area, I would use it like the that metal bar I like.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there's there's metal tube and cups that'll hold it. One side will be a solid cup and one will be a tip in.
SPEAKER_01I like the the bracket we had at the old house. It was kind of this J-shaped hook that came down, and then the rod kind of sat in top, so you could slide your clothes all so you weren't hitting a bracket anywhere in the middle. It kind of came down and it had just enough of a hook that you know, of a J at the bottom that the bottom part of the curtain wouldn't hit it when you slid it across, and the hook on top wouldn't catch it when you were sliding it down.
SPEAKER_04I just did a solid metal rod the whole way across and nothing to catch on.
SPEAKER_01So I use three. I like the yeah, if you use a rod big enough, you don't need it, but that that closet organizer system we had in the old house, they just it was it was just a smaller rod, probably packed better for still.
SPEAKER_00Not all of us have a big rod like Chad's and shiny and shiny.
SPEAKER_01Not all of us are packing it in their pants either, right? Yeah, some of us put it in the closet.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, I I our wife's purse. Or wice first. I like like I've always made my hanging racks if I have enough room out of three-quarter inch black pipe and the fittings. I screw a two by four to the wall where I want it, and then I make the length rack that I want. I use the standoffs, and you can do chin-ups on those things. So they're super sturdy, they're not super expensive. Only downfall is you do or you could. I said you could. Okay. I can't. I mean, my fat ass probably rib it right off the wall.
SPEAKER_01One of the one of the kids the other day said something like, yeah, you probably how many chin-ups you knock out. I'm like, uh, the number is exactly fucking zero. Zero.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, I like those because I mean it the only downfall to them if you don't have a pipe threader, you're stuck to standard lengths. But most closets, I mean, you can get by. Like I've got I think I've got nine feet of store of hanging on two different sections in our closet. Can you get that stuff in ten foot lengths? So I like to put a bar. If it's more than five feet long, I put a T in. Oh, and I put another bar into the middle for support. Um, and I've never had any of them sagged or anything like that. I mean I built the first ones in our old house in the basement. I didn't have a closet at the old house. I just had my bathroom basement wall, the bathroom wall. I just had clothes hung in there. And they were I seen it on Kelly's seen on Pinterest or something. I tried it. I've always built my hanging racks like that since. I like the way they work, they look good. But they don't work well like in the kind of closet setup he's looking to build, it would not work in there because it you're not gonna have a a section of pipe without having a threader. Right. So like the tippings, like Chad was saying, would be perfect for that. Okay. Since pictures are done, I need to build another closet. My I gotta redo my daughter's closet.
SPEAKER_04Assuming I I I shouldn't say assume. I don't know if he's gonna use a table saw or not, but assuming he's gonna be using a a saw that doesn't have a lot of teeth on it just because of the situation. Put tape down so you don't have so much tear out. Yeah. Oh. For sure.
SPEAKER_01All right. Or just get a fine-tooth saw blade for you. You can get pretty fine teeth.
SPEAKER_03Go buy yourself a saw stop with a fine-tooth blade. Get yourself it's cheap. It's not a problem. You gotta buy the tools. Like you're gonna build a project, you gotta build buy the tools.
SPEAKER_01Hey, uh is anybody because if I'm hot, like other people have to be hot. I'm I'm comfortable right now, but yeah, I'd maybe I'm still like from for getting sweats and cleaning up after family, yeah, and meat sweats and I was shivering downstairs. We ate, we ate lunch.
SPEAKER_00I looked over him, his whole body was he's sitting there shaking. I'm like, You cold?
SPEAKER_01Working outside?
SPEAKER_00It's not winter, it's Iowa spring, so we don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_01Were you working outside? No.
SPEAKER_03We did stuff. Well, we were in a game inside and we made a pizza and we were sitting there and I got cold. I don't like the cold.
SPEAKER_00I'm getting warm, so I'm getting sleepy. Oh, it is late. It is.
SPEAKER_01Normally we're just about wrapping up for the night. Normally, we started early this morning.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we did. So what else we got for the main? So, Seth, first, I hope that helps out. If you got any more questions, reach out, throw it out there. Um, if you want more advice, holler we can uh share more. Or if anybody else has a project they want our input on.
SPEAKER_03Oh, and we're not responsible for any accidents or issues with this closet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if it all falls down and collapses on your side. We didn't put it together.
SPEAKER_03So we're always down to talk about projects.
SPEAKER_00Anyone got any burning they want to you're your burning, your main burning is gonna be on the Patreon. We're gonna that's what we're gonna do on the Patreon. We'll see how long it takes since it is getting on there in hours. And two two fellas had Easter festivities and eating today. The other two of us have it tomorrow. So well, that's easy tomorrow.
SPEAKER_04I'm hoping for like light meals. Light meals tomorrow.
SPEAKER_00I'm hoping to sleep in first, but we'll see what the dogs think. Anyways, um, did you did you fellas see the uh the post that your artistry was appreciated? I didn't know. And apparently Geyers was more appreciated.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Feelings hurt. Get over it, bitch.
SPEAKER_00You would have thought he'd pick yours to make up for the blue moon, but he didn't honestly technically he didn't know whose was whose.
SPEAKER_03Technically, he did not. He did not, he just picked the one he liked.
SPEAKER_04Was there just more detail?
SPEAKER_01Which one was closer?
SPEAKER_03Mine had bigger boobs.
SPEAKER_01But mine had more erect nipples.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just you had a weird hairy.
SPEAKER_03I kind of wonder if the dude that was there like plugged in something to mine. So you couldn't see it. I'll check tomorrow. See if there's like because then I have to go beat that guy up for covering up my stuff. Covering up your artwork. I don't know if he was impressed with our artwork or not.
SPEAKER_00I kind of really think that. So I thought it was pretty much. But it sounds like there's there's the fridge is now stocked. Stocked fridge for you guys.
SPEAKER_04Should have had some art around the light switches.
SPEAKER_03We didn't do any light switches yet. We haven't done light switches. Oh, we did. Oh, yeah, we did.
SPEAKER_01But well, there was uh was there artwork on that or was it just the Easter egg one?
SPEAKER_03Just there's an Easter egg one. There's an Easter egg one. He hasn't noticed that one yet.
SPEAKER_00Well, he will now. He's gonna go look in.
SPEAKER_03Good luck, buddy. Oh, that would have been a great one. He'd have to be laying down for that for the Easter egg one. Yeah, that would have been a great one. I don't even know why we decided to do that. Like we were talking about something. We were joking around. I don't know. I just have to be joking around.
SPEAKER_04Just needed a light moment.
SPEAKER_03We did.
SPEAKER_00We were we were lighting the moment. We were lighting the moment. Actually, the lights were lit.
SPEAKER_01Yes, they were. Yeah, so uh like what was it? As of three weeks ago, I had zero Ford Flexes. How many do you have? As of next week, I might have three Ford flexes.
SPEAKER_00You bought another one?
SPEAKER_01Well, one's coming up on the auction that should be fucking cheap enough that it'll be cheaper than I could go buy the parts used.
SPEAKER_00Ah so another 14 to fixing yours? What's that? Another 14 for fixing yours?
SPEAKER_01Yep. Okay. Uh and I Jake goes, honestly, it wouldn't take much to fix that thing. You're gonna have three flexes running around town. The one looks the the one coming on the auction.
SPEAKER_03His hers and daughters. The whole family's gonna be driving around in a flex. Um like flex mafia.
SPEAKER_00Has Cameron realized how how well a mattress would fit in the back?
unknownIt's red.
SPEAKER_01It looks fucking cool, doesn't it? I thought I thought that red looked nice.
SPEAKER_03I'm not a red cut frame fan, but that's a nice color red.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'm gonna be really disappointed if it's like that ruby red.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it don't look ruby red in that picture.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't, but um I do really like the way that it looks with no fucking roof racks on it. The roof racks might be coming off ours. That looks real clean without the roof racks.
SPEAKER_03You should put a spoiler in the back of ears, like those really tall ones. Like a wing.
SPEAKER_01I think it's been lowered.
SPEAKER_03Maybe there's not much room in the wheels.
SPEAKER_01Either it's got bigger wheels or it's the other side has a f that has the spare on it. The front right corner's got, but like it looks pretty even like height-wise on that. I I think it's been lowered, so that thing's got a lowering kit. I'm like, man, I'm gonna lower that fucker. Um but it's got the panoramic sunroof on the top, so I don't know what that'd cost to have a guy cut that out and reinstall it. I'm not cutting that fucker out because I can't cut those bitches out without nicking the paint up. Yeah. Um and it'll probably break into about a million pieces when you try cutting the old one out.
SPEAKER_04And it's not a guarantee they're gonna get the good one out in one piece.
SPEAKER_03Very true, yeah. I mean, never know. Yeah, so I don't know. So we need to find out about that one.
SPEAKER_01Monday, it goes. Where do we have to go get that? Chicago? No, it's down in Davenport. That's what Davenport did it. Jake's guy goes, he he hauls it for 200 bucks. Oh, yeah. 200 bucks. I'm like, I am not fucking driving. I'd charge you like McDonald's for sure. Yeah, then you know, fucking Tundy ain't afraid to drink fuel. You know what I mean? Like by the time you figure your time and fuel and uh I made Court feel bad.
SPEAKER_00I made Court feel bad. I told him even in limp mode, when my truck went into limp mode, hauling the Patreon topic and other things, had the big gooseneck on it, I still averaged 11 and a half in limp mode. And limp mode was like 2500.
SPEAKER_03What did you pay? What did you pay a gallon for your diesel?
SPEAKER_00That night? 430, something like that.
SPEAKER_03I paid like 360 something.
SPEAKER_04So when your truck's not in limp mode, what do you call it?
SPEAKER_01Dick mode.
SPEAKER_04Hard mode.
SPEAKER_01Hard mode. Call it dick mode.
SPEAKER_00Just another turn.
SPEAKER_01Oh, speaking of never mind.
SPEAKER_00Patreon.
SPEAKER_01That was part of it. Hey, make a note. That sounded funny. Make a note. Oh, he'll remember. We'll remember that one.
SPEAKER_00Um that was my week. Uh let's see. Monday night. Did that happen on Monday? Or was it Tuesday today? Wednesday. No, it happened Monday. It happened Monday night because Monday night I got home. It was supposed to be, there was gonna be rain coming out. I was trying to move a bunch of stuff around. And I was what was I I don't even remember what I was doing, but I stepped back and ended up stepping on a about two inch nail. Oh about an inch nail.
SPEAKER_03I thought you were talking about something else.
SPEAKER_00And I I got we got straight home from work and I said, I'm going right to do this. Maybe it was Tuesday night.
SPEAKER_01Um anyways Tuesday, because that was the hail night. That was when we were supposed to get the two or three inch, the two-inch hail.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all that. You're right. So anyways, stepped on the uh the nail, and I had not my work boots on. I had those shoes that you said kind of look nice. The ones that were in the sitting next to the loafer boots.
SPEAKER_01My loafer boots right through it like butter. So no puncture resistance.
SPEAKER_00No puzzle none.
SPEAKER_03Zero puncture resistance.
SPEAKER_00Um, and it went left foot right in the ball of my foot. And of course I pulled back, ah, that damn that hurt, but I kept getting everything done. Went inside, cleaned it up, all that stuff. Get up next morning, I could barely walk. And so I hobbled through the day, get home. Andy looks at it and she's like, that's infected. I'm like, no, it's just swallowed up a little bit. You know, she goes, pissed off. No, she goes, that's infected. And she's like, talking to your doctor? I said, no, I haven't said anything through the portal. I'm going to bed.
SPEAKER_03Going to bed.
SPEAKER_00Get up next day. That must be timeline's all screwed up at this point.
SPEAKER_03It was Tuesday. She was off the next day.
SPEAKER_00And so I did the next morning. Again, could barely walk. She insisted that I at least send a picture and say, is this something I should come in for? So I did. And yeah, it was the day she was off that I was talking to her because she's like, Well, hold on, look, she was there, is your tetanus up? I said, should be. I mean, I know it's supposed to be good for 10 years, but I I like get it every two because I'm always I'm in there for something. And she looked it up and she's like, hey, you're a year out on that, you should probably get that looked at, and you're a year out on your tetanus. I'm like, how did I get a year past on my tetanus? Because I was thinking, has it been over more than a year since I smashed my thumb wide open and had to go to the ER on your on courts drive shift? I think it's ten. But literally, like every other year when I was running the dam, I'd be in flood water and they'd be like, hey, let's be let's be over cautious, get tetanus. Okay, big deal. I it never affects me. Everybody's like, oh, my arm hurts so much.
SPEAKER_01I've never had it a little stiff, but as long as you keep move, like if you get it early, like earlier in the day, yeah, and you're moving it all day, it's way less bad. If you get it at the end of the day and then you go home and you get supper, then you sit in the recliner and you don't do it anything, fuck yeah, your arm's gonna get sore.
SPEAKER_00But so I'm like, all right. And she's like, I said, all right, I'll send, I'll I'll I'll make an appointment. She goes, I might, I'm at she goes, I'm at urgent care Thursday. Just come in there. Okay. So Thursday I roll over to the old I guess it's not urgent care anymore. It's same days, same day or whatever.
SPEAKER_03Same day clinic.
SPEAKER_00So I'm sitting there, this is where it gets funny.
SPEAKER_01Is that the that's what they're calling it? Yeah, that's like the least unoriginal fucking name I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_04I don't want to make an appointment clinic.
SPEAKER_01I don't that would have been I don't like to plan. That would have been the decision. I don't plan my illness. Yeah, and because before they had that, that was the super frustrating thing.
SPEAKER_04In two weeks, I won't be sick anymore. Right.
SPEAKER_01Like, I I just don't I don't know why I remember this, but Seth called him one time. You know, Seth, when Seth gets sick, he's got fucking cancer, Ebola, gonasifa herpolitis, whatever deadly fucking disease you can have, that's what he's got. And they're like, Well, we can get you in in uh uh a week and a half. And he goes, I'll be fucking dead by then. Well, we can maybe get you in in three days. I'm like, oh well, at least my body will still be warm. But anyway, sorry, Chris. I I interrupted, I just thought that like that's that's the best thing about the urgent clinic now, though, is that when you are sick and it's like I need to be seen now, like you can.
SPEAKER_00Well, not everybody's got a gang doctor like us. So, anyways, so I'm sitting in the I I walk in and like, oh, you have appointment? No, what are you here for? Stepped on the nail Monday. It kind of hurts. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Then you okay, then you could have made it really interesting. There's like some fucking cheese running out of it, and it's black and blue, and my toes turning black. I lost all the time.
SPEAKER_03That's how you get in there faster, though.
SPEAKER_00Then they would have said, Oh, go to the ER. I don't have to deal with that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they would yeah, it would have been that would have been that.
SPEAKER_00So, anyways, I this was already pre-planned. My doctor was waiting for me. So, anyways, I'm sitting there and I get a I get a text message and it's from Dr.
SPEAKER_01Kelly.
SPEAKER_00Said doctor, and it says, so I'm like, I told her I was gonna try to be in there around 4 30. And so I'm like, yeah, a picture of sitting in the ER.
SPEAKER_03Urgent care.
SPEAKER_00Or urgent care, sorry. Or the waiting room. Same day, same day, same day. Whatever. And she's like, How did she put it? I'll pull this up quick. It was funny because I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm out here waiting. And she goes, uh so, and I send her the picture, and she goes, it her response to my picture that I was in, and she goes, I know Katie is coming, that's her nurse. And she goes, Your tennis is up to date. LOL. I didn't respond back.
SPEAKER_01So it was up to date after all.
SPEAKER_00So Katie comes back and get me and go back there. They do the you know, she does the pre-weigh and blood pressure. My blood pressure was down even, so she got me on the right stuff.
SPEAKER_01You must not have been on that in that much pain then.
SPEAKER_00No, it's it's the good meds my doctor has found for me.
SPEAKER_01That was after I well, it was one of those times I busted my knuckle up at school, and the nurse took my, you know, I just went up there to get a knuckle band-aid. Like, I don't know. That wasn't that long ago. That's all I needed. I just needed a fucking knuckle band aid. And she's like, Oh, you should go to you, you you might need stuff. I'm like, I am not putting fucking stitches in my knuckle. Fuck you. Yeah, like I will pull those out before the end of the day. It happens every time. And she's like, Well, you you don't look very good. I'm like, it's because it fucking hurts. I just need some ibuproven and a fucking knuckle band-aid.
SPEAKER_00You don't keep knuckle band-aids in your desk drawer?
SPEAKER_03Probably not allowed to, are you?
SPEAKER_00You didn't have some electrical tape and a piece of shop rag? I did. Why did you go up to the nurse?
SPEAKER_01Cause I uh fouled protocol.
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, uh he was hoping for workman's comp and get out of school.
SPEAKER_01Well, uh, it turned out I did get out of school because she starts checking my blood pressure because my face is flushed out. I'm like, it's because it fucking hurt. And then she's like, oh, your blood pressure's up. I'm like, that is not even fucking high. It was like 140 over 100. I'm like, that's not even there's people walking around ticking fucking time bombs, 180 over 140. I'm like, that's not even high. Oh, you gotta, you're gonna have a fucking heart attack. You gotta go to the emergency room. I'm like, whoa, how did this go from fucking ibuprofen in a knuckle?
SPEAKER_00She's gonna kick back from the to fucking go into the emergency room. She's gonna kick back for those nerd those patient referrals.
SPEAKER_01So I had to go to the goddamn emergency room. You went? They made me like you like they drive you there? Yes. Did they really? I'm like, I'm like, I'll just whatever. I'll just I'll just go get my truck. Uh fucking oh no, you can't drive me. I'm like, holy fuck, I just cut my fucking knuckle. How the fuck is this? How how did this fucking happen?
SPEAKER_00How did you let It escalates, I would have turned around and walked out.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00My boss keeps both both uh first aid boxes full of band-aids because he knows I cut myself all the time. I patch myself up and go back to work.
SPEAKER_01But anyway. So you're waiting in. She's checking to see if you got taller or shorter.
SPEAKER_00And actually, she didn't, she didn't even check my height. I'm just short. I'm a little guy. But she uh Katie goes, So your tennis is up to date. I'm like, yeah, I heard. She goes, it's she goes, it's been there weird. She goes, it always comes up as out of date. For whatever reason, tetanus always shows out of date, but then it shows a date. She goes, that's actually the last time you had it, which was 2024.
SPEAKER_03That's a silly way to do it.
SPEAKER_00Isn't it? But we're talking about the medical field here. It's out of date, or because Kelly talked about it today when she stopped by.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But, anyways, I'm like, all right, whatever. She goes, Well, I know mine from 22. So I pull my boot off. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, was your blood pressure high that day? What's that? Was your blood pressure high that day?
SPEAKER_00Not as high as cords. That came up in conversation. Because Katie the nurse says, Well, Kelly's got a student with her. Is that okay? I'm like, Yeah, I don't care. And so I'm sitting there waiting. Kelly comes in. I'm like, I thought you had a student with you. Oh, well, uh, she opened the door and says something other, and then this other gal comes in and it's her student or whatever, you know.
SPEAKER_01And uh so you you tried to make it really uncomfortable, didn't you?
SPEAKER_00Uh, as they were walking in, I was texting you guys saying, Kelly's got a student with her. How fun should I make this? Yeah. And Brad right away comes back with tell her that Court shot you with a nail gun.
SPEAKER_03I didn't though. I was in Marshall.
SPEAKER_00Court's like, that'd be hard to do for Marshalltown or what's up like this. Yeah, it'd be a high power nail gun. Anyways, so Kelly really high Kelly sits down and she's like, All right, well, how far did it go? I'm like, I don't know. It I stepped on it, it hurt, I pulled my foot back.
SPEAKER_03Penetrated. That's all that matters. It's in me. Right.
SPEAKER_01I got raped by a nail.
SPEAKER_00So I did not give it consent. She's looking my foot, and well, then she stops, or she starts, gets ready to look at my foot, and then she stops me and she goes, I don't even remember how she said it, but she looks at the student, she's like, I know Chris. I said, Yeah, damn right you know me. I said, I helped build your house. She she shoots me this look, like, shut up and be good.
SPEAKER_03Behave.
SPEAKER_00Behave. Yes, it was a behave look. So I'm sitting there. Behave. Behave. She she's looking at it. You know, she starts pushing on and she hits this the one spot. That's and it feels like there's something hard there. And I'm like, okay, that hurts. That hurt, Kelly. Did she push it again? And she did.
SPEAKER_02That's my girl.
SPEAKER_00She's like, right there. I'm like, yes, right there. This spot? And she goes, she goes, okay. She goes, well, is there is part of the nail in there? I'm like, I don't know. It's on the bottom of my foot. I can't see it. I said, I've been hobbling around for two days. It hurts. And she goes, Well, she's probably getting x-rayed, just make sure there's nothing in there that I gotta cut open and dig out. I'm like, okay. I said, otherwise, I said, you want to just start cutting, dig in there, and see what you find? Well, you'll have a hole in your foot. I said, I already have a hole in my foot. By this time, the you know, Kelly and I back and forth, just like we're in the garage, in your garage, and and then the students kind of like, what is going on? Like the clamp was moved to Maui. And I couldn't get full facial expressions from the That's what happens when you have the student because the doctor the student was wearing a mask, and I refrained from going, Oh, you have a liberal student doctor with you today. I was good. I mean, I didn't wait.
SPEAKER_02So, anyways, so Kelly is she has to explain her husband and his friends now. So sorry about them.
SPEAKER_00She's like, I'm like, if you want, if you think we need an x-ray, I said, That's why I got insurance. I'll go get an x-ray. She's all right, so we'll fill it out then. And she brings me back the little card you gotta, you know, and I gotta go down, it's after 4 30, so you gotta go all down to ER desk and then tell them your life story again. And they're slow as molasses.
SPEAKER_01Apparently, you can walk down there faster than someone than the fucking internet gets in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. I'm like thinking, this has all been entered in twice now. Yeah, but whatever. And about I'm part way there, I'm like, I'm walking, and I started going one way, and the gal from the reception here, she goes, No, sir, sir, you gotta go this way. I'm like, oh, okay, whatever. I'm still not used to the whole the whole new area. I'm walking out there, I'm like, damn, this is gonna be a long walk on my foot. I think Kelly's picking on me. I think I even texted you guys that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you did.
SPEAKER_00Then I got down to ER and get all that done, and I'm walking away. I'm walking away from ER to go down to radiology, and she's like, Do you want a wheelchair? I said, Nah, I've already walked this far, I'm good. And I walked down to radiology, and the radiology gal, she's hanging out by the door waiting because she's bored on a Thursday. Go in there and she snaps pictures a couple different ways, and I put my boot back on again. I had to take it off, then put it on, and then I'm walking all the way back up, check back in, sitting there waiting. Katie comes, gets me. Go back there. Kelly comes in, she's got her computer and my foot, my x-rays on the screen, and she's like, Well, there's nothing in there. I'm like, Well, that's good. She goes, but look at like the tissue in that. She goes, it's definitely infected, so I'm gonna put you on antibiotics and all this. I'm like, okay. And when I had got up to leave, the the student already left, and Kelly was getting ready when I was going to radiology. I said I said, Well, I said, You you know, I told the fellas you had a student with you and they had some suggestions. She was, you can tell her about those when you get back. Well, that was Kelly going, I'm going to forewarn her and tell her about you before you get back. So she gets back and she sits down and she tells me and she goes, She goes, Well, I already told her about the podcast here. I'm like, okay, whatever. New listener. And and she's like, and you can listen on the student goes, can you listen on Spotify? I'm like, yeah. She was kind of like, where do you get your podcast? What is it? I said, any major podcast platform, you can listen to us. I said, but I said, Do you really want to waste your time? I mean, I said, Kelly, you gotta, I said, now you gotta explain, you know, the goofy, the goofy or the dumbasses you hang around with or something like that, you know. She's like, I know, right? And then I'm I'm getting up and I said, by the way, I said, I did tell the fellows, I said, I think you're picking on me. Who what do you mean? I said, All the way down to radio to ER and then to radiology? That's two flights of stairs both ways. She looks at me and she goes, You worked all day. She goes, You wouldn't have taken a wheelchair if I offered it. Yeah, okay, you're right. Well, I would have to work a kick scoot. I said that at work. I asked the guys at work, I said, Can I get one of them little knee scooter things?
SPEAKER_03Back and forth out of the shop. You'd get hurt more trying to do some half pipe shit on that thing.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'd probably have Sam pulled me behind a Jeep or something.
SPEAKER_04Did you at least ask for opioids?
SPEAKER_00No, I did not.
SPEAKER_01I guess opioids, that was a missed opportunity.
SPEAKER_00I really thought about telling her, you know, this really hurts. Can I get some opioids? Because she'd been like, Do you think you really need them? I'm like, well, yeah, because I got I got a transmission of or transfer kids fixed in my truck. I could sell them to guy her.
SPEAKER_01That would not have gotten me there. I promised you that. If you want. She just said no. No.
SPEAKER_04So listen, I I got some stuff to do and power equipment to use.
SPEAKER_00And there's the other the other thing before that pick, uh hey, you're picking on me, making me walk. I said, I said, Oh, I said, Did you hear what's in my driveway? She goes, Yeah, I saw a picture of it. Court showed me a picture of it. I'm like, Oh, well, that one was probably far away. I said, Here's one. I showed her one, and she's like, Can't we keep it like that? I'm like, no, because you don't get this, this, this, the, you know. And she's like, Well, how long is this gonna take? Kind of like, is it gonna be like my kitchen?
SPEAKER_02No, because it's gonna be way more fun than the kitchen.
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, Well, this has a deadline, it has to be in Indiana in July.
SPEAKER_02And it's way more fun than the kitchen.
SPEAKER_00And she goes, Oh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, oh, you had to bring up July because that's during the the concert that I'm missing.
SPEAKER_00Concert you're missing? Cole Wenzel. Oh, he's a bit.
SPEAKER_02She wants to go see him.
SPEAKER_00So go see him.
SPEAKER_02Tell her she's gonna, she's gonna go without me.
SPEAKER_00I said, tell her call Annie. Annie will go with her. Izzy's probably Izzy's probably going already, so we're gonna be partying on some private area. So we can talk about that.
SPEAKER_03I'm ready.
SPEAKER_00So what do we have for time over there, Court?
SPEAKER_03Uh, we are at 53. What'd Chad burn on this week?
SPEAKER_04Uh, I didn't do a whole lot other than a pool tournament last night. How'd you do? Um, that was 50% of the night. The games that I the the matches that I won, I really kicked it.
SPEAKER_00But there was no money out of pocket, right?
SPEAKER_0410 bucks.
SPEAKER_00That's all you charge for the triangle?
SPEAKER_04No, I um so I I made 30 bucks on that.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04But uh for the tournament, it was ten dollars to get into it.
SPEAKER_00Gotcha.
SPEAKER_04The the two matches I won, I I broke and ran every rack kind of thing. Just I I couldn't miss the matches I lost.
SPEAKER_00We should start sponsoring his ten dollar tournaments, and he's gotta wear the HTG shirt.
SPEAKER_01What's that like playing pool and not being able to miss? Because I've never had that. Never had that problem.
SPEAKER_04I it's getting less rare, but it's fun when it happens.
SPEAKER_01It's uh it's uh I I can honestly say I've never had that problem. Like shit, I hit all the fucking balls in the hole again, right?
SPEAKER_04The the first game on the loser side. So I I won my first match, lost my second match, first match on the loser side. I won that one. I I broke, ran all the balls. He broke, scratched, I ran all the balls. Turned around, shook his head, said you're a dick.
SPEAKER_01I won't you break, man?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I I gave you a fair chance.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome.
SPEAKER_04On a short race like that, if you miss if you lose the first game, you know, whether it's your fault or not your fault, it's really hard to come back from it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, if anybody out there is on Instagram, I uh made my first post to uh try to maybe win a contest.
SPEAKER_00I shared it. Chad, I forgot to go. I'm gonna do that right now.
SPEAKER_03You have two Instagrams.
SPEAKER_04It's Sellers. So I I just have one. I just changed the name of it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's it came up as two. Because I seen it post like you know how you go in there and you see a post, it's like fuck, it's gone. So I searched for you, and I seen two. I seen like a seller's cue, and it's just got two pictures, and then it's got the other, then the second one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I I had changed the name to Sellers Woodworks.
SPEAKER_00So yep, sellers Woodworks. One new post right here. It's the only post.
SPEAKER_04It's my only post.
SPEAKER_00Okay, we gotta share it. Yep.
SPEAKER_04So if you can uh get on there, give it a like, maybe a comment just to help out just a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Do I need to share it on Facebook or I gotta share it to Instagram?
SPEAKER_04Uh you should be able to do either way.
SPEAKER_00Well, which one is the one that you can do? This is the one I shared from.
SPEAKER_04Uh probably the Instagram one. So the the one on Facebook might be the seller's cue repair or something.
SPEAKER_03These are both Instagrams.
SPEAKER_04Oh I don't know. I don't know how Instagram really works.
SPEAKER_03So neither do I. It's tied to your Facebook kinda. Hey, Rock or Uruguay liked your awesome.
SPEAKER_04Now, if we get the four-eyes furniture guy to like it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, let me just share it. Okay, I liked it.
SPEAKER_03And then you gotta share.
SPEAKER_00Oh, repost. Who reposted this post? Okay.
SPEAKER_04Give it a like, maybe a comment if you got an extra 30 seconds. I think anything to get eyes on it'll help me out. But the winner gets, I think it's like$2,500 in tools off of Rockler.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_04That'd be that'd be awesome.
SPEAKER_03I should post a picture of my house on there. So the the all the cabinets aren't finished.
SPEAKER_04The challenge is this is the small space challenge.
SPEAKER_03The Rockler's a perfect one for that.
SPEAKER_04Rockler small space challenge.
SPEAKER_00That's a perfect post for that. That is like oh Andrea saw it. She loved it because that would be like a good little side table for my for out in the uh fireplace, the three seasons room, even though I use it all four.
SPEAKER_04That's something I plan to actually I'm not gonna say mass produce it, but make a few of them and see if they sell. You know, take them to the furniture store, see if they want them.
SPEAKER_03Definitely, that'd be awesome. No, that's it, like for that contest, that's like the perfect project right there.
SPEAKER_04Yep. And if they're going through all the different people that have liked it, it's like all like furniture people and woodworking people. So I I think they say, Oh shit, I never thought about something like that.
SPEAKER_03No, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_00I like it. Well, should we kick this over to the Patreon?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I want to know what court's burning.
SPEAKER_03And if everybody else wants to know what's burning and you're not part of Patreon, for just five bucks a month, you can join us over there.
SPEAKER_00Or ten and get in the week in the monthly drawing drawings.
SPEAKER_03And well, if you want to, you can join the shit show Facebook uh messenger group. Where sometimes we talk about stuff, sometimes we don't. Sometimes I get drunk out in the hotel and mess with people. Oh, that was a different chat. That was that wasn't even our chat.
SPEAKER_00That was the other that was the other guy, the other pick, the other podcast chat.
SPEAKER_04So there's there's definitely some friendly fire in that.
SPEAKER_03There is yeah, there's definitely, yes. It's a fun chat to be in. So I mean, you're not only like paying to listen to us, you're paying to have friends. Kind of, yeah. Yeah, you know?
SPEAKER_00Really cool friends like us.
SPEAKER_03Right. So yeah, that's uh that's all I have.
SPEAKER_00Alright. I guess my final words for the week are gonna be do what you want. If it's your dream, go for it. And if somebody if anybody else gives you shit for it, welcome to the everybody, it's Chris checking in with you. We had some great conversation during the Patreon about Whites Warriors and events going on that really should be out here for everybody to hear. So add those minutes of Patreon over here to the main patrons. You get to listen to us twice talk about it. But we appreciate everybody's support with Whites Warriors. We'll see everybody next week. Yes. But she's 30's awesome though. But she figured out it's gonna be a lot to go through. That's it is awesome that we're getting out there. And did you guys see that we were on the front page of the Lynn County Lynn newsletter? Lynn News Lynn County newspaper.
SPEAKER_04I missed that one.
SPEAKER_00Because Coggin reached out and said, Hey, we'd like to do the sign the 988 signs. So Andrew went down, met with city council, they put them up, and then the gal that did the news article about us being down at the car show last year.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, yep.
SPEAKER_00She turned around and she's like, Hey, you guys did the same one at car show, did this. Could you could we do an article? And we're like, sure. Andy's like, sure. So Annie did a phone interview, and then that was it was front page. That's awesome. Yeah, there was part of that pissed me off. I don't think I should say it here. I'll tell you later.
SPEAKER_03Tell us later.
SPEAKER_00It's nothing to do with them, it's somebody's reaction to it.
SPEAKER_01Anyways, but that person can suck a cot. I don't even know who it is or what they're upset about, but so we uh maybe gag on it.
SPEAKER_00So we did that, you know, and we're gonna she said since that article came out, she's had like two or three other cities reach out, like, hey, we'd like to get these in our community. So we're like making that is awesome some moves. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03That's the whole point of what we were doing here.
SPEAKER_00It it really inspires that okay, we're making a difference. Um, we need to talk about you made the note earlier, and we need to talk about the main so everybody hears about it. But we spot we helped the school sponsor uh a speaker this past week.
SPEAKER_03Did you guys have to get away? See, I wanted to be asked.
SPEAKER_00By the way, you you like like Jedi fucking mind tricked or samurai disappeared because Andrew turned around because they came over and said, Hey, do you want to meet the guy the speaker?
SPEAKER_04He was going with the students, and I was dragging my feet.
SPEAKER_01And Andrew dismissed us and I left.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and Andrew's like, I turned around, she's like, Oh, sure. And she goes, I start. I made like 10 steps I turn around. I'm like, Well, Chad, do you want to come be in the picture too? Because she's like, Geyer was gone.
SPEAKER_03He had to go make sure his kids didn't escape.
SPEAKER_00And she's like, I was looking for Geyer, but he yeah, he he was there and then he wasn't.
SPEAKER_03So I had a chance to talk to Kalen about it and see how it went.
SPEAKER_01The kid well a lot of the kids that I talked to, what they said is they really appreciated that he didn't talk to him with kid gloves on. Yeah, like he just real real about what he went through, how he felt, how what he thought was the the biggest thing that I kind of took away from is like, look, if this is where you're at, if you're in something that is not bringing you joy in your life, if you don't love it and it's affecting your mental health, you need to quit fucking doing it. Right. He goes, like, I was stuck playing football, you know. I just kind of got the feeling that he felt like he was just kind of trapped in this whole fucking thing. And he goes, You just need to fucking quit.
SPEAKER_00I will say, and there's and there's some I'm not gonna say it here, there's some things I'll share with you guys later, but I will say that it's I'm glad that Wise Warriors is making a difference because three, four years ago, where was this at?
SPEAKER_03It wasn't there.
SPEAKER_00It wasn't. So I I think that tells me that we're doing something good, and I'm not about to try to take take any credit for it because I'm I'm just uh I'm a minion in the in the cogs of the system. Andrew's the one that's spearheading this and keeping it keeping us going, and making it ask us to help with it.
SPEAKER_04Biggest like like negatives that I heard were like before the mass of the body got in there and he was just small group, he was you know it that was super awesome. Nobody had anything negative to say about any of that. And there's some certain things that I'm gonna elaborate on that more later on, and then he never touched on it because basically he forgot about it, he didn't have like note cards in front of him, no PowerPoint. Well, if he would add just a little something to keep him on track a little bit, it would have been a thousand percent better.
SPEAKER_01And the other thing is he only had an hour, right? Like that wasn't much time to tell his story and to elaborate like he probably could have used two hours, yeah. Honestly.
SPEAKER_00Andrew had watched several YouTube and other and other things that they shared when they were looking for which one. Yep, and I want to commend the school for they really leaned on Andrew to say, if this isn't the right guy, you guys are putting money into this. If this isn't the right guy, we'll we'll find somebody else.
SPEAKER_03Keep looking, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It wasn't, hey, we'll take your money and we're gonna pick who it is.
SPEAKER_04I I would say he was the right guy, but just a little bit of like narrowness of focus would have helped it.
SPEAKER_00Other things she's seen him, other presentations he's done, and that she thinks he might have throttled it back because he had everything from seventh grade to senior.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And and maybe she goes, I felt like he throttled some of it back because there was those younger kids that and that is the hard part with the younger kids it is, it's and that's where it's important to get it, but it's you know, if it's they're not mentally there to handle some of the stuff that he was gonna talk about. Annie asked, I forget who the the one the main contact, her main contact there is McKenzie. And she said, Hey, did you know did you get did everything work out? And McKenzie goes, It's gonna be really close, and he Andrew, and he told her, she said, if you guys are close, she goes, I don't want you guys. We as wise warriors don't want you guys to just totally deplete your funding because you do everything every month at the school that it don't deplete all your funding for doing this. If you need a little extra help, she goes, I think we could we could help you out some more.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00But and you know what the biggest thing is is we could I I look back, you know, and we just had a there was a kid within what a year, year and a half before Wyatt. Same thing, same age. And his dad came to us, and now is you know, and then the rest of the family, right? Sam, yep. And they've reached out and we've started a scholarship in his name.
SPEAKER_03And it's what they started, we're helping. They started it, they started. We're we're facilitating it because we have we don't want to take away from what they're doing.
SPEAKER_00No, that's their money. They're doing it, they're doing it, we're just we're the mechanism that can get it out there because we have the the legalities and the the state the state requirements and everything. But it's about Sam. Um and and Andrew and I had lunch with or breakfast with him, his dad, and his brother, um, to start the ball rolling on that. Um but it it it hurts to think about it that if the school would have been where they are now four years ago, would both of them boys still be around?
SPEAKER_01You don't know if they you can't think that way because you don't know if it is a lot with our guidance counselors have been they've been fucking working hard to really try and combat this, and I know it fucking wears on them because they get all the kids' problems, they get everything in there, and I know that they're working so hard to try and really there's kids that have been re have reached out to Annie because they're like, okay, she's white, she's white's mom, she understands and reached out, but it's not just what's over when we're getting to schools in in three different counties now, and it just keeps growing, and the bigger schools and and the things like we did the the you know, it was a chunk of change to do the the hockey game, but you look at the chunk of change to get that guy to come speak that too. Like that was a huge chunk of change.
SPEAKER_00And Andy actually originally she's like, can he do another school while he's here or anything like that? What's you know, and then now we've got a foothold on it. I know there's a speaker she wants to bring in that's probably four times as much as that guy was, if not more. I don't even remember what she said it was. I mean that's why we work so hard to wanting to do that, but she doesn't want to bring him in for the high schools, she wants to bring him in for the emergency management, police, fire. He's more of one of the for the more adult, and he's very raw and he's very front up. But she goes, It's so powerful. She goes, I at some point we will find a way to do it. But it's the stepping. We've only been doing this two and a half, three years.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, let's say third year of doing scholarships, I think. We went from we could afford to do two, and we were like really careful with our money to be able to afford two. And this year we're doing four, right?
SPEAKER_00Four, and we've got thirty applicants.
SPEAKER_04Is it four or is it five with uh other kids?
SPEAKER_03Well, there's four and then the four for why it's worse directly.
SPEAKER_00And then the one with Sam is Sam Duggan. But yeah, I mean to be able to do four is all in three years, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_03And I think we can and bring in more speakers, and bring in speakers do all the other games and that's why we're out, you know.
SPEAKER_04Say what we're we're treading the balance between could we go more or more scholarships or whatever the case is to like we need to make sure we have enough to really be some longevity. Exactly. We don't want this to be a flash in the pan.
SPEAKER_00No, but we're going. I mean, that's why, you know, yes, the golf outing, we have a blast at it, but we work our asses off too.
SPEAKER_03Annie works her ass off. Any, any it's more accurate. I swear club look pretty.
SPEAKER_00Day of day of, yes. We help, yeah. We help as needed, but you know, when she needs our help, we take a cookie walk, meat paddles. She's working on it. Just if anybody likes whiskeys, bourbons, she's working on a special. I don't know when it's gonna happen or how she's facilitating it. All I know is she's like, we've been we spent two hours yesterday running around Dubuque, trying checking different places for these. We're not talking just your run-of-the-mill, buy them off the shelf. We're talking the high-end single barrels, straight from the barrel, the stuff that is hard to get. She's going out there and finding, and she's got some sport, certain special fundraiser idea she's doing with it. Um we're doing the golf ball drop. Uh, she found a, you know, we the four of us poo-pooed the golf ball cannon. She found a company that'll come in and do it.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00So we're gonna figure out the logistics on that. Um and it's it's not cheap, but we'd probably make money at it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I've never seen that woman put together something that doesn't make money. Yeah, if she touches it, it turns to gold. She doesn't always think that. She second guesses it all, and I have to constantly give her pep talks. But she is one hell of an event planner.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's and that's I mean, it's the people that come to the events and the local people, the business owners that help support it. I mean, all that's very important.
SPEAKER_00Uh I'm gonna we're gonna we're an hour and eighteen in. I'm gonna wrap this up with I'm not gonna give all the details here. I'll tell you guys afterwards, but um one thing that she hasn't heard in three, four years was this week somebody referred to her as Wyatt's mom. And that made her weak. Oh, I bet. So with that, we'll see you next week. Peace. Love you.
